2.
have to say though that a great bass solo is a rare thing, it's just not built for it! Alex
+100
 3.
Hmmm some odd results in there to say the least... more a vote of which bands NME readers like, rather than the skill of the bands bassists it seems...
...i thought this said: 'more a vote of which bands NME retards like...' and on reflection it probably should.
 4.
Beautiful music.
Hell yeah...the whole of 'Siren' makes me fell all gooey inside. Punk before Punk was even conceived
 5. Excuse my wafflings, but would anyone happen to know what John Gustafson was playing on Love is the Drug? Lovely, fat, full tone whatever it was
 6.
So what should we be spending our money on instead?
Maybe you could spend it on 'smugness' lessons....like Kev seems to have done
 7.
- presumably a combination of good original packing
I also offered to send the bass in the original manufacturers shipping box inside another strong box and this was also refused for reasons of 'economy'
 8.
I shipped a bass to Greece a year or two ago, wasn't even in a hard case, I just took the neck off, packed it really well and made sure it was insured. No problems.
I also offered to do this and the offer was refused.
 9.
Makes me wonder why people can spend thousands on a precision
Because they have a greater disposable income than you?
 10.
If we all thought like that knowone would ship anything Danny i shipped two basses at once last week, and it couldnt be easier...I will PM you with a very very cheap shipper.. I dont see any variables? All you have to do is called the company who will ship your bass, pay by card, ask for insurance..They will pick the bass up when you want them to..and thats it....Just make sure you use a hard case with plenty of bubble wrap... I shipped a bass for £65 to Europe...FedEx wanted to charge me £190 believe it or not... The best thing is the company i used, used Fedex!!!???? You have PM Danny..
Obviously you haven't shipped a fully working bass and then been told that it's faulty on receipt and then been told that there is no way that the bass could have developed a fault in transit by the buyers 'bass expert' friend. All this, even though you told the buyer that you would only ship abroad if he arranged shipping himself and take ALL RESPONSIBILITY should the bass turn up damaged. ~This all happened to someone very close to me...as a matter of fact, they were so close to me that it was actually me. i wont go into all the carry on that i had meeeting the requirements for shipping that cropped up bit by bit once i had agreed the sale. However, you may ship without any mishaps whatsover, but i for one will never run that risk again.
 11.
Hi, I'm selling a bass at the moment, and also have it listed at Talkbass where a couple of people have expressed interest in having it shipped to the US. I have a hard case and plenty of bubble wrap, just need to procure a cardboard box (so if any local BC'ers have one they don't want let me know!). Does anyone know the cheapest way (with insurance included) to do this? Also, would I be best to ship it as is, or loosen the strings first? I'm thinking if it hits a warm climate the neck could bow slightly...
I shipped a bass to Italy and the only 'advice' i can give you is that i'll never do it again as there are to many variables involved should something go wrong. If you like a stress free life then i wouldn't bother if i were you.
 12. Have you done anything on Horace 'Gentleman' Panter?...or how about Martin 'Youth' Glover? another +1 for Scott Walker
 13.
- and their cops have got better things to do than bust folkies and bluesers.
...so have ours...but the government would rather they do something easy like persecute musicians and gig goers.
 14.
£5 says you've tried to work out what the non-bargainous item is!
There's more than one in my opinion ...wouldn't dream of pointing them out in the thread itself though...come to think of it, wouldn't do it by PM either...i feel that it's up to the seller to determine what he/she wants for whatever it is they're selling...if it's too much the item wont sell and they'll soon amend the price accordingly.
 15. Nice Ric...but 'all black'?...dunno if you've noticed, but it's got white binding.
 16. I usually whip out my chainsaw and cut through the neck to see how the bass sounds...which is usually better than if i was playing it
 17. The only famous pick i have is from Christy Moore...neither bass nor very rock, is it? I also have an autographed Chirsty Moore set list, complete with Christy doodle, which is also not very rock I feel inadequate.
 18. Was in two minds whether i was being cheesy by buying this 'aged' bass but glad i did as the sound is pretty amazing, it helped that it looks a bit like Simonons/Dee Dee bass that's been given a musicman pup. It has the usual Sandberg high build quality, the headstock decal states that it's a sandberg Custom Shop model, so i guess this helps too. Not sure how old the bass is but i guess it's a pretty old one as it doesn't have the 4 dots on the upper side of the neck pocket like the newer models do. It plays like a Sandberg should: very well.
 19.
what's the neck profile like? precision or jazz or somewhere in between? couldn't find a measurement on the sandberg site
It's sort of jazz like...38mm at the nut, the neck is probably the best thing about this bass...faster than Usan Bolt on amphetamine. I'm really only selling this to get another Sandberg...a PM4 this time.
 20. Bump for a price drop due to the fact that the barrel jack socket needs replacing with a switching model as the current one is non switching and the battery drains after a week in the bass. dropped to £375 posted or £350 collected.
 21.
AAAAAAARRGH!!!! Always fancied one of these and I'm in Dundee on Tuesday! I wonder if it's a sign from God? Will PM if i weaken! BB Is the eau d'garlic smell gone?
i aint gonna lie...it still has a hint of garlic to it...brings new meaning to the term 'plays like butter'...in this case it's 'plays like garlic butter'
 22.
I cannot believe it has not already gone. You need to sack your sales and marketing team. Surely it cannot stick around much longer at this price.
I struggled to net £1150 for mines earlier this year and it was an immaculate, colour of the year model, in Monty Brown...credit crunch wont be helping. Nice bass though.
 23.
If it's real, what a lovely gesture.
Aye, sound as feck...if it weren't for the fact that i dont live in Chiswick, am as old as the hills and take 'untalented' to a new level...i might have taken him up on the offer.
 24.
I went round to get this bass from the guy - next thing I know I've woken up in a hotel room in Marseilles with a blinding headache, a sore arse and no recollection of the last 72 hours whatsoever. Still, it's a nice bass though......
Sounds like the weekend i had in Amsterdam last week...apart from the hotel room bit
