1.
don't quote it or it'll take three years to scroll down to the bottom of the page! Seriously nice bass though
I was only 44 when i started scrolling...nice bass though...thinking about getting an ACG or an East for my parts white jazz...mines has a Fender Oly White AmDlx body with an Allparts neck, Seymour Duncan pups, Hipshot tuners and Bad Ass bridge...the lightest bass i've ever held, i know that people decry the AmDlx bodies for their smaller size and differing pup placement, but they certainly make for a lighter bass, the 75 RI jazz i had weighed a ton compared to my parts jazz and i can live without having Fender on the headstock.
 2. He'd be better saving his listing fees and getting a flight to the US where he could then ram the bass up the original sellers Candy Apple Red arse until his face turns Candy Apple Red.
 3.
nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
Nostalgia is a thing of the past mate. 10 points for whoever knows which Irish band had that line in one of their tunes.
 4. I'm of the opinion that wood type does influence the tone of a bass...but only cats and bats can hear the difference...i'd say the same about 'high mass' bridges.. ...a cat listening to a bass made solely of hemp:
 5. Well what can i say, this has to be a record even for me, but i just can't get myself to 'connect' with this bass, which is a pity cos it's really nice to play and lovely to look at, but it's a bit too modern sounding for me, so it has to go and for the bargain price of £425 posted, that's saving you around £130. It's just over a week old and is in the same condition as it was when it came into my possession, minus one of the screws for the rear cover plate which i somehow managed to lose. Other than that the bass is in excellent condition and will be posted in the same packaging as it arrived in. Payment by bank Transfer only...may consider trades for the right bass...
A five string, jazz bass for lefties! they'll be making them for Gingers next...looks weird doesn't it?...bit like Gingers.
 7.
Just had a look at the Hagstrom web site and that particular model doesn't appear to be available in that finish. Custom order? BTW anyone know where these basses are being made?
They're made in Ch*%a...but you could never tell Seriously though, they are finished well. As for the finish it's Tobacco Burst and the only other one i've seen in this finish had a humbucker at the bridge and a jazz style pup at the neck...not sure what the score with this one is.
 8.
Your singers outfit sticks out like a sore thumb...not the only things sticking out mind you.
When is she giving Mick Jagger his lips back?

 10. Bought this for me barfday on Thursday...sort of self commiseration present Lovely sounds can be had from this one...not sure if the F hole is serving any function other than lightening up the bass though. Neck is oiled maple and very nice to play...somewhere between a jazz and p in shape. Apparently this bass is very good for slap but as i don't slap unless provoked i really couldn'y say....very growly when favouring the bridge pup, but also has plenty of deep lows...liking it a lot...though it remains to be seen if it stays
 11.
thats stunning, when my warrick is sold, i will get something like that for a back up to my CS 1970 JAZZ. Out of nterest, how much was this? Rich.
I bought it from the states so with import duty etc i think it came to around £450 approx. The necks on the 62RI really are very nice to play and this one in particular has a sort of vintage vibe going with regards to looks...soundwise it's a very good bass, the sustain on this thing goes on for hours, as a matter of fact i was practising the other night there and went out to the shops for an hour and the damn thing was still ringing when i came back ...only selling to meet my self imposed 3 bass rule..no doubt i'll regret it and end up with another P bass at some point.
 12.
I fancy this more pics please!!!! need to see the back, no reason why, just would like more pics-lee
As requested:
 13. Decided to move this on. It's a Fiesta Red CIJ 62RI p bass fitted with Kent Armstrong Vintage Hot pickups. I'ts in good condition apart from a chip at the neck pocket and a ding on the body. Best thing about this bass is the neck...really lovely to play. Bass will be sent in a padded gig bag and outer box via insured courier. SOLD PENDING. Payment by bank transfer only.
 14.
Bought one of these new short scale basses a couple of weeks ago from a local shop. I have owned quite a few ibbys in the past and they have all been good basses with no probs. The thing is, this one sounds knid of boomy, its the only way I can describe it. Its especially noticeable when you play the E on the bottom string at the 12th fret, it doesn`t sound right to me at all, very, very boomy. It sounds okay over the rest of the neck I took it back and they gave it a pro set up as it was a wee bit buzzy, no more buzzing but it still dont sound right to me. It sound a bit like a Epi eb3 I had 2 years ago. Does anyone else have one of these and if so how`s it sound? Is it because it`s a short scale? I rehersing on tues and am going to give our guitarist a shot and see what he thinks but any opinions would be appreciated. Jez
I had an Ibanez AGB200 semi-hollow and it did have a touch of boom on certain parts of the neck...I assumed that it was part and parcel of the design.
 15.
I picked this up for a fiver: Any idea what it is/was? Captain Japcrap? Anyone? Someone made a right arse of putting in block inlays to it so I thought I'd dig that out and make it maple where a marker ought to be.
You should have used it to club the seller to death with....just in case he ever gets his hands on a real bass.
 16.
Do I get the skull included? thats a nice bass but more interesting to me as that lovley looking jazz good luck with the sale
Cheers...the jazz is lovely...AmDlx body is very light, never weighed it...but i'm guessing not much more than 8lb. I stuck a varitone control plate in the body and some Seymour Duncan pups in, i can get some nice sounds even with my piss poor playing
 17.
Damn, thats totally me, But its not a 5 string Hows the balance on it?
It's actually pretty well balanced for the shape of the bass....guess the small headstock helps out there.
 18. Bought this on a whim a few weeks ago for£400. Whe originally sold they retailed for over a grand. It has Seymour Duncan pups, Bad Ass bridge, Gotoh Tuners, quarter sawn oiled maple neck and rosewood fretboard. controls are volume/volume/tone. Even though it's pretty unorthodox in shape it's surprisingly comfortable to play and very light. Only selling as i have my eye on another bass and have a 3 bass rule at the mo. Looking for £375 posted. Payment by bank transfer only. UK sales only. Might make a trade depending on what's offered
 19. I love that bloody track makes me all happy and warm inside...matter of fact the whole Leave Home album makes me go all tingly inside and it makes me want to pogo all over the sitting room, I'm Against It! not aff pop pickers!!...3 cheers for the Ramones...at least up until End of the Century
 20.
I think you're right and I don't know what came over me. Bad day at work. The Clash had a great deal of substance to go with their style, and it was only their latterday Rock Star posturing that turned me off.
~Must admit that i went through a period of dis-enchantment with the band myself, Mick Jones and his posing kinda turned me off and i was well pissed off when Topper was sacked, Cut the Crap had me reaching for the sick bag and i almost gave up on the band...then i realised that what i liked about the Clash was their fallability as much as anything else.
 21.
Plastic punks: The Clash (runs for cover...)
While the Clash eventually went on to suck on the corporate tit, i wouldn't say that joe Strummer and his beliefs were contrived, or plastic as you say, he may have been an arse at times but i think he really did mean what he said and he treated his followers and fans with a lot of respect. Raise a toast to St. Joe Strummer I think he might’ve been our only decent teacher
