2.
As a member of this GAS-bloated Forum, it will be amazing if you still own this bass in 20 days let alone years!
True
 3. Tonight i have been listening to some Weather Prophets and some Mick Ronson...mmm Slaughter on 10th Avenue and Growing Up and I'm Fine...wonder who influenced that one
 4.
Mentioned it on the Clash songbook thread but "Live in Shea Stadium" is a corker - all their best songs (well nearly all) on one well-played, up-tempo live CD
If only Topper had been 'fit' to play...still at least it was Tory Crimes and not some session player
 5.
I really like the thick red paint - is it Fiesta Red? Yep, I know it sounds nerdy
Yup, Fiesta Red...i'm hoping that in 20 years time it'll faded to a nice and even gayer pink

 9.
FFS ditch the paisley job and get a tortoiseshell one.. Apart from that, nice
Tortoise shell is soooo yesterday... Paisley is the new tortoise shell....plus, no tortoises were harmed in its production
 10. Finally got the tuners for my MIJ 62 RI today, so here it is in all it's gayness
 11.
Countour stickers only appear on Jazz basses AFAIK
Is that what it says at the end of the headstock?...you have better eyesight than me and i stand corrected
 12.
so that means you gotta get out there and play basses?
It's the only way to be absolutely sure you don't end up with something that gives you the boak.
 13.
Don't get it either, surely all you have to do is put a new head on it. It won't be blowing up after that.
Yeah, give it some head...won't need blowing after that....snirk.
 14.
Lice?
Seaside nippers
 15. If you're as dumb as me you spend over £4000 buying 7 basses in a year and then sell all the ones that you don't like and end up with 2 that you do...normal people play as many as they can until they find one that 'speaks' to them
 16. Hmmm...dunno, the neck at the body end does have the serial number in the right place for a MIJ...'FENDER PRECISION BASS ORIGINAL CONTOUR BODY - BARGAIN' is what he says...he doesn't actually say it's a jazz...benefit of the doubt and all that i'd say that he mentions the contour body to differentiate it from a slab body P? I'll stick me neck out here and say genuine. 96/97 mij according to the serial number.
 17.
Jap Fender, IMHO
+1

 21.
Anyone know the winning buyer?
Aye, Mad Mick McMad...winner of last years Mr Mad competition.
 22.
Very occassionaly, in a disco track, its acceptable. Anything else, and you end up sounding like that prick Mark King. The only reason you'd like him is if you're "of a certain age" or bullied at school for having a coat that smelt of vinegar. I am a young man who was far to hard to ever be bullied. My coat smelt fresh. I didn't drink lemon cordial. Therefore, I can maintain that non-funk/disco slap is the preserve who those who think Hi-Tech trainers are cool and rolling the sleeves up on a blazer is acceptable. Thank you.
Sums it up nicely Your's Sincerely A Non Slapper
 23.
We need to make a pact with finnbass and take down TB. We will fight them on the fretboards!
You'll be lucky...they all seem to think we're a bunch of dicks across there especially Argghh, who should perhaps change his change his user name to 'Vitriol'
