  1. @BreadBin I had 3. Sold the de-fret B-10, gave the 5 string B-105 to a kid in Ghana. The B-20 has same finish as that LH body, actually had 2 of those. 1st was a white one bought from Machinehead Music in Harlow 87/88.
  2. Gave up trying to sell mine. The de-fretted B-10 took awhile even at a mega bargain price but the B-20 in red crackle finish never got 1 bit of interest. Even at less than £100
  3. Never quite understood it myself Shawn I just play about with things until happy and hope nobody asks me questions !
  4. It's a belter How it's in such great condition after all those years is a mystery, mine are bashed to bits Enjoy your New Peavey Weekend
  5. Got my first set of Rotosound tapes for £5 when a music shop closed down in 1983. Great thumpy sounds on a P-bass,everybody was playing rounds so I stood out. These days it's Status or La Bella. I have the La Bella white and the older cooper ones called "white" but much prefer the look of black tapes so never tried them yret.
  6. Mine are unlined as when I've tried lined boards I found myself looking at the neck. This was a pain in the neck, both meanings of the phrase
  7. Aye the 35" vs 34" is overstated imo but the BXP Cirrus came in both 34" & 35". Could be your's is a 34". Great bass, have flats on mine.
  8. $31.50 but minimum order is 10 http://wscmusic.com/itemView.php?&query=view&code=00000507&no=4132&lv=2
  9. They were never for sale as an aftermarket item, least I never found them. Checked now and again over a 3 year period, always drew a blank.
  10. It'll be The Queers next month then the Meteors.
  11. £40 for a Wilkinson pickup ??? Never knew folk paid that for them.
  12. @Jack It's 4 year since I bought my first PB-50, I actually ended up buying 3 in quick succession Getting ready to buy No4,Im just waiting to see what the Fiery Red looks like. If you don't like the Roswell, though I heard from a fella on Friday that it's a decent pickup, £40 to £75 will get you a replacement and you'll have a belter of a bass for less than Squier Affinity money
  13. I tried the JB-75 with Roswell pickups today, can't say I noticed any real difference from the Wilkinson JB-75 I had.
  14. Wouldn't hold back on my account, though I warn you I'm not the slightest bit interested in what you watch on the telly.
  15. OK successful pop band but still only a pop band. Did they cure cancer, bring about world peace ? No they wrote some pop songs.
  16. Rarely bother reading posts on a band I've little interest in. I mind some kids at primary school listening to them but that all stopped when punk started. Each generation thinks theirs was the important one, kind of conceited thinking.
  17. Never heard anybody describe the Beatles as anything other than a pop band. If Paul hadn't sung you'd have stopped posting long ago. It's the singing bit that put him out front, not playing bass.
  18. Daft claim " no-one heard of electric bass before the Beatles " Here's my old pal Hector MacLean in his heyday. The lads ticked themselves to the hilt for the Burns gear as soon as they saw the ad in the music papers. That photo was very early 60's,they stopped making the Burns Artist bass in 1963 so it's no later than that. So you've got 6 fellas from tiny mining villages scattered around Central Scotland all kitted out with the latest Burns gear including an instrument nobody had heard off.
  19. Looks great Tom. Matching headstock was a must Did you buy the scroll saw ?
  20. @fleabag Not sure there is anything wrong with it. My guess is folk buy it to get the feel of a Vigier. Play the Vigier for 6 month and know they're amazing Then they look at this and think " Bloody Hell, why did I buy the one with the plastic cups hiding holes of unknown purpose ?" So they sell it, buy a pristine Vigier and live happily ever after
  21. That's the 2nd or 3rd time it's been on eBay in 2 year. Still can't think of a plausible reason for the extra holes on the front face.
  22. And who cares what you think ?
  23. Macca probably agrees with QJ
  24. In the entertainment industry it's a job very well done.
  25. I've long thought Bruno was recycling other folks tunes. "Locked out of Heaven" had a distinct Sting vibe going on. Not a thing I have a problem with,as an old punk I'm hardly his target audience The lad's selling records and folk are happy, that's a job well done in my book.
