  1. John You ask if anybody is heading north and could they collect the Tokai, they pass it on to somebody heading further north and it winds it's way to Cumbernauld πŸ˜€
  2. I just gave the direct route from Tamworth. You could always copy the Beatles and their Magical Mystery Tour πŸ™‚
  3. Would have been better with the basses playing to a blank screen. That way there'd be no chance of confirmation bias creeping in.
  4. From Tamworth you need folk near the M42 and M5. Brimingham Airport/NEC area ,Worcester, down to Cheltenham/Gloucester, on to Bristol etc
  5. Babicz bridge just arrived from Dave. The man's an absolute Star, the fact we speak the same lingo made it so much easier.
  6. Stew It's not whimsy , it's sensible πŸ™‚ I've done the collecting/sending of goodies in Scotland needed by folks in England and the favour has been returned πŸ‘ Afraid I can't help with this but if you spot something up here give me a shout. That's an offer open to everyone.
  7. One Sunday afternoon some old fella jumped a junction and rammed me off the A1. You can see by the damage I was right in front of him. Police never even asked for roadside breath tests.
  8. The restoration thread gave me a kick up the backside ,now with a set of NOS Picato tapes πŸ™‚
  9. Of course,happy to oblige. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/incoming-resurrection-project-67-wem-watkins-rapier-sapphire-short-scale.1467988/
  10. I've been following an American lad's restoration thread and he's no idea what model he has. The Wilson catalogue list both models but, apart from Β£20 in price ,they appear almost identical. Can anyone clear this up ? Also the 4 way switch, can anybody remember the function ? Mine goes Bridge pickup/both pickups/Neck pickup/ Bridge pickup with, I suspect, the cap working. Another lad has a different set up, on his it's the neck pickup appearing twice.
  11. Judging by the 2 holes top of the headstock ,measuring the strings was an after thought πŸ‘ Lad gets the thumbs up for trying πŸ™‚ Β£200 is way too high but I'd say it's easy to tidy up. Β£1.50 of veneer would hide the extra holes in the headstock, 5 minutes would see it reshaped . Β£3.50 tremolo cover hides the string through mess.
  12. They don't care. We had 2 work's van emptied outside the digs. Took 4 days for the police to turn up,even that was under duress. Never asked for a list of missing tools (everything) nor did they pay more than a passing glance to the CCTV footage.
  13. If you think they'll sell it before the polis get there, can't you stick a deposit on it ?
  14. No, grey pearl and Rickenbackers are the Devil's work πŸ‘

  16. I know a fella in Glasgow who will do it. His is an ebay only business. Have 5 of Brian's plates myself, top notch goodies πŸ™‚ https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/earlpilanz
  17. So average weight then πŸ™‚
  18. The slabs I build are Fender spec and I've stuck PB-50 necks on them with no problems. Slightly rounded heel vs square ? Fit a scratchplate and forget about it πŸ‘
  19. Aye. That's me signed up too πŸ‘
  20. I wouldn't say that, I find standard 4 in a line much easier. Thing is , reverse headstock on a Tele or 51 looks very cool so I'll bear the burden of awkward to reach tuners πŸ˜ƒ
  21. Check which speaker output is selected on your PC. It might be using USB Audio Codex and your PC is set to something else.
  22. My latest slab body has a reverse headstock because I like the look.
  23. Sad news Stew. 12 steps is right,no point getting worked up over stuff out of your control πŸ‘
  24. They don't look that purple to me. La Bella Jamerson's were purple but it's more a dark blue purple .
