1. What a bargain! Such a flexible amp.
2. That PJ is gorgeous....hmmm, best get saving
3.
Cool! What was the name of your band?
It was my first band, and they're still going this very day too...they are called 'Booyaka'; from Shropshire, sort of loose dirty funk rock, mostly originals, (Hendrix/Chili Peppers/Funkadelic vibes). As i remember the gig was either 98/99 and at Oakengates Theater, Telford,...my memory of that period in my life is not so good and we were on first followed by the awesome 'Dub Merge' and then the amazing Transglobal
4. Just received a Genz Contour extension 15" cab from Rory, great communications and a top chap. Another credit to the Basschat community - buyers/sellers can deal in confidence .
5. Good to see Transglobal still going, an old band i was in supported them back in 1999...was a great night
6. Lakland has a history of consistent quality....Fender on the other hand...ahem!
7. Great basses and those two look superb! I had a Legend Custom that i got in a trade from someone on here, it was short lived as i traded it, along with another bass, with Mr Limelight Mark. The Legend is still on the Classic and Cool guitars website. A few years back a Rebop passed through my hands, very well built but i actually much preferred the playability of the Legend. They're a lot of bass for the money, enjoy
8. Did you get my PM ?
9. I've got one of these and i keep considering selling due to lack of use but then when i play it I change my mind as they just sound superb, and they're worth a lot more than the OP's asking price considering the Genz sound and build quality. Also the heads are removable, i.e. there is a lid on top
10. So I won the eBay Celestion's x2 for 99p, will probably give the seller a little more - worth a punt at that, if they don't work out then I'll probably source the XLs from Korg - Thanks for all the helpful input guys
11. SOLD
12.
You could do faaar worse that the Celestions on e Bay. Used four celestions back in the day at Henley Regatta & had complaints from Marlow nick - cracked it!)
13. So, Korg (Hartke suppliers) have contacted me back, and quickly too, £110 for 1 x 15" XL speaker posted or around £180 for two. Now the cab cost me £100, but i do like it...it has heavy duty castors , is well built and weigh's a ton which is great for my band as they love to carry it . Interestingly Korg in my email put the speakers as 300W, not sure if that's a typo as the originals were 200W, but 300W would be preferable if the newer speakers are that. But i can't stopping thinking about some decent Eminence speakers like the 3015LF ...but then there's tuning the cab, physics lessons etc...BTW how do you tune a cab? And how do you find the litres of a cab?
14. Cheers for the info guys, I'm going to ring Korg now and find out how much a replacement speaker would be Here is some pics of the faulty one taken by my mate: According to my mate it wasn't working at all.
15. Cool...cheers
16.
I'd save yourself the bother of possibly having to retune that cabinet to make it suitable for a different speaker - even worse would be to only replace one cone I'm afraid. The 15's in this cab are pretty conservatively rated and my suggestion would be to get the current speaker direct from Korg UK who are the distributors for Hartke.
Cheers Dood, Yeah i must admit that has been on my mind too as i do like the sound of the cab, i'll call Korg tomorrow.
17. One of the speakers has blown in my 400W Hartke 2x15 XL, the aluminum cone is all cracked according to a friend and beyond repair. Thinking of replacing probably both speakers, probably for paper speakers too...would like a bit more power/ volume on tap...using a Markbass 800W amp or Carvin 1500W amp. This cab will be used for reggae/ska with both elec & double bass, wanting lots of low end, reliability as it will be played with a lot of low frequency dub stuff. The cab has four bass ports or whatever it is you call them, see pic. Any suggestions of a particular speaker upgrade? I know there's lots of physics involved but I'm more sociologist than scientist, so all help appreciated. Weight of new speakers not an issue.
18. Sit back, close your eyes and enjoy the groove: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbRk4apS6jA
19. Dub is love Great choonz
20.
Market place is great but there has been a huge flux of timewasters you know the ones that PM you and say "oh Ill have that mate" only to never get back to you or the other ones who want everything thing for f*** all I mean we all love a deal but some of em on here do take the piss that could be a reason why a lot of people aint advertising the low end gear as it is not worth the hassle? I just dont know but the has been loads of serious top end gear on here of late
Yup this....and will you post outer space
21. Loving my new NY151 Markbass cab, loud, deep and clear...sounds great paired with my LMT 800...recommend!
22. Mike Howlett in Gong, great style, great tone..nice chap too
23. Glad you guys see the difference between Tube & SS. In my research before getting mine i often read that there was no difference...i can hear the difference and i'm allegedly deaf. Great amps the LMT's, it's definitely in the good books with me at the moment
24. I had a Streamliner 900 briefly, nice amp..great for reggae and the old valves sounds but I struggled to find a good sound i liked in my soul/funk band, that was through a Genz Neox 212T at the time. I now have a Genz 2x10" 500W Contour combo and a 12" Genz Focus cab, totally love this set up and best of all the heads are removable from these combo's, i believe the combo heads are loosely based on the Shuttle amp.
25. I've got one of these and it is a cracker of bass, quality is up there with New US Fenders, Lakland et al. Could be a great bass for someone, also i have no link to the seller: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FARIDA-P-BODY-BASS-GUITAR-3-TONE-SUNBURST-SUPERB-CONDITION-/141450526445?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item20ef1bbeed
