  1. Can’t see why not. I’ve certainly played a lot worse basses that have cost a lot more. I’d say it’s a good bass from beginning to pro level easily. They look very cool too.
  2. Looking great Andy. Really interesting to see the process too - I still wouldn’t trust my clumsy self to take on this. You’re a man of many talents 😊
  3. My mind is totally blown...lovely to see after a long day at work. Excellent works @Andyjr1515
  4. Price revised to something a bit more realistic
  5. Price £240 not £275 Got this in a recent local trade and am in two minds if to keep it as there is a lot i like about it, hence the feeler - i believe it's a standard passive model and has a bolt on neck - sorry I'm not of fay with the differing models. I really like the looks of this bass and the sound is really surprisingly nice, it's a lovely warmish tone with good definition, not mushy by any means. However, it is just not the most ergonomic of basses for a nearing 50's beer bellied hobbit type like me, and it doesn't sit right with the strap attaching to the neck plate - i know the strap pin can be moved and that's what I'm contemplating if i keep it, but i'm still not totally sure the Thunderbird will look quite right under my chin. Interestingly there isn't the notorious neck dive that i was expecting either. It's funny after years of soul, funk and reggae I'm finding my inner rock and am also currently learning to play with a plectrum (bloody hard work after 25 yrs of fingers) to which this bass excels above the rest of my other more pricey entourage. I'm mainly looking for potential trades - seeing if something else floats my boat, try me on anything - basses, cabs, amps - don't really do FX anymore and not into 6 string basses and don't need an acoustic. Can add £200 to trade up too. I'm pricing this bass and Epiphone fitted case at around £275 having done some research now i think i may have priced this a little high so £240 seems reasonable with the fitted case, which is lovely and fury...... maybe tempted on a sale too.
  6. There’s a Studio 1 reggae version out there too....
  7. Thanks for the support and reply guys. I'm going to send the neck on to Andy for a bit of first aid
  8. Cheers mate. I’d been researching a bit and seems the neck was probably warped, big bow in the middle - so gave the truss a tweak more tight....and it’s just snapped - game over 😩
  9. Wrong thread!
  10. So, I’ve been doing up a very battered Vox White Shadow Fretless I oddly acquired. Have fitted some Sandberg elecs as the originals were shot - I had a spare set and pre and that works a treat. The main problem I am having is the setup. Please help a novice who’s lost! The action is really quite high, think double bass, at the nut end. Yet low at the dusty end (nearest the pick up), and when I fret any string above the 7th fret area it buzzes madly on the fretboard, mainly catching around 17th to the end of the neck. The truss rod turns but is maxed out and the bridge saddles are as low as they’ll go. I’ve tried slacking the truss and that just equals mega high action. Help? Knackered neck ?
  11. Humble shout for the Markbass NY 151. light, small footprint and always really liked this cab for a bit of reggae. Great lows but well defined unlike some. Worked well for a bit of Motown warmth too, especially with an Orange Terror head on top. I miss that combination.
  12. Buy a Sandberg and be happy
  13. Put some EMG's in my Bullet and changed the pre to the EMG BQC. I think i prefer it over the Delano's...the Delano's were OK but love having the mid control on the BQC. Had to change the crappy EMG plastic knobs - now sporting much improved chrome knobs.
  14. Just had my Pfizer vaccine.....still can't play like Jaco but I'm transmitting to Bill Gates 😂

Maybe you'll grow a third arm, and be AMAZING at fretting / plucking! :D

I don't think the Jaco playing will kick in until after the second dose is administered😂

Ahh, yes fair point. Maybe if I get a Pfizer Oxford combo - I can sell my head 😂

  15. Sandberg every time 😉
  16. Any idea of the weight ?
  17. I’m in the both camp, but perhaps a maple neck on the copper 😊
  18. I have to admit I went Sandberg in the end. The QC woes at the time lost my interest and monies. I was so smitten with Sandberg that I had since bought another two. Have to say though your Ibby looks really beautiful. I do love a blue bass - enjoy 😊
  19. Wow, the Robbie Shakespeare bass
  20. When at school I always wanted to be an astronaut. The closest I got was the musical after parties led to me becoming a well established space cadet...many a cosmic journey in those 90’s halcyon daze. Have grown up considerably since then 😉
  21. Excellent Basschat support - Cheers chaps, that’s really helpful...well I think it is, I can sense the shear fear from Mrs Raslee......Right Ida Mk1 😆
  22. Think I may consider another Sandberg to add to my current 3. I’m slowly Gasing for this bass Prince is playing, yet I’m clueless to what the model is.
