1. I'm a user and think the goldie is hideous!
2. As I'm a paid up member of Spotify, I've decided to locate and listen to a bunch of stuff that I will openly declare I loved when it was released, none of which I presently own. The experiment has been going pretty well to be honest until I hit upon SATD. Don't get me wrong, I adored Motley Crue, well, at the time. Happy memories of being bitten on the arm by Tommy Lee at Donington (and well, Donington generally), but it's thirty years later and I'm struggling to see the attraction. It's a truly awful album; there's nothing to redeem it. Oh, well, next stop Polytown. P
3.
Whoever managed to get their paws on the P Bass, how far do you reckon they managed to get home in one piece?
He gave it to photographer Ross Halfin. It's on his blog. They gave him a case as well! P
4. Great that it went well...I really hope to make it next year (Nik knows the reasons behind my absence). Would love to see some more pics! Best Paul
5. At the very least, I will try my darndest to get in and show my face if possible.
6. I'm sorry to be a pain in the ass, but I'm going to have to pull out (my father in law has been hospitalised overnight and realistically I can't just leave my wife and go off on a jolly). Also Darren the drums is sidelined with a very bad bout of the flu. I was so looking forward to meeting up and even Darren had tempted me with a brekkie at McDonalds in Camberley. Sorry folks P
7. I met Mark White once. Worst BO ever. You could taste it. <shudder> P
8.
My VT Bass rack is due to arrive next week - yeah!
Where from? I had it in my basket at Th*m*nn, but it's not listed anymore. P
9. I did one a while ago on a six string Strat body for a lark - I don't have the body any more so no pics. We just followed a You Tube video...there's plenty out there. Just make sure the body is primed to your desired base colour and rubbed down so the paint will adhere. Dustbin of water, dunk in guitar body, add the paints (we used little pots of model paint), mix lightly, pull out body slowly. Allow to dry somewhere. It was an OK project...a bit of Sunday fun. P

11. I know that smell...five times over...
12.
I wonder if they'll make a Leeds version...
There's a guy in the US who converts Tech 21 stomps into 1U rack units. He can add additional functionality too. Very good stuff apparently. In addition, yes, I'm gassing for one of these. Will probably dump the BDDI and upgrade to a 4U rack. Looking forward to this. P
13. Lovely and I'd like to add a VS, but right now I'm gassing for something else. *Edit: Julian is a great bloke too...he fixed my NR and has worked at one time or another on all my stuff; I am quite an agressive player. Two thumbs up there! P
14. Forget that! It's lateish and I'm a bit tired...
15. Could you post up images of the whole bass please...front and back. Cheers P
16. I've got one of these. Strung BEAD; solid as anything.
17. OK...Darren has confirmed. I'll bring my Waterstone Tom Petersson12-string bass too unless Warwickhunt has bought it by then P
18. Pencil me in. I'm going to see whether I can make it...if so I'll bring two or three thunderbirds and my Ashdown/Hartke stuff. As an aside, I know a great drummer (Darren Oliver-Jones of Basingstoke based 'My Never Time') who will almost definitely handle some of the drum duties. P
19. I downloaded a 10 day trial of the Ampeg SVX plug in earlier today. It's really pretty impressive. I've generally recorded Sansamp BDDI>PreSonus>PC but quality of recording is dependent on so many factors. I've done a little experimenting this afternoon and it sounds pretty awesome, so much so that I'll probably buy the software and not try and find a crack for it. (Joking.) So many variables. Highly recommended. P
20. It's OK...I just see 'neck' and 'dive' in threads and it get's my heckles up a bit! The benefits of playing Thunderbirds (lack of body weight, slender neck, that tone, the uber cool shape, the magical ability of it being able to transform me into a lithe 20-something), by far outweighs any issue with diving of the neck. Most people who talk about neck dive probably haven't even touched a TB. It saddens me. P
21. I tire somewhat of the whole neckdive argument thing and I play Thunderbirds. Yes, the Waterstone is a tad neck heavy - it's heavy anyway - but when I do play it, I'm playing it, not throwing a JC arms wide-open stance waiting for gravity to take over. It's a very comfortable bass...I use a 3" wide Levys strap and it's fine. Mr Warwickhunt. Shoot me a PM sir and we'll see if we can sort out a deal of some sort. P
22. I've got a Waterstone Tom Petersson 12-string...it really sounds the dogs if you can control it...the secret seems to be having a pair of rigs - guitar and bass - running it through a crossover highs into the guitar side, lows into the bass side. I get a fairly decent tone running it through a small Rolls crossover, into a Sansamp and then into my amp, but straight into the amp I find the sound too ringy and unusable. I've toyed with selling it several times (there's still an old ad up on the For Sale section)...it spends more time in the spare room than it should, which is a crying shame...it just doesn't fit with anything I'm doing musically. Shame. P
23. I'm no Fender fan, but are you mental? Get rid of the fretless! P
