  1. All well and good, but I bet you the players still wouldn't be able to remember the words just before kick-off ...
  2. So we're back at a body filled with helium, plastic hardware, and strings made of rubber bands? Looking good, mate ... 😉
  3. In all honesty, Roger, it hasn't occurred to me to try. The feature set on amps by EA and Acoustic Image is so comprehensive, and the units so practical, that I can't see any way an improvement in tone by reverting to old-school valve amps would ever justify the aggravation that comes with them.
  4. Paging @Silvia Bluejay
  5. Do they require clothing?
  6. Told my son about this. He said. "But Dad, you have a great heir". Coat fetched.
  7. I've got a wig ...
  8. But weren't you the only band in the village?

  10. I sold my old T'n'B to a guy in Croatia. I took out all the valves and wrapped them individually in (newly-washed) old socks before packing the thing up. I'm glad I did. On arrival in Croatia the local Customs guys completely dismantled the whole thing looking for drugs. The buyer wasn't even slightly concerned; he'd been expecting that to happen. He re-assembled the amp, fired it up, and away he went.
  11. What's sad is that The Great Barn is such a gorgeous building. I'd love to play a gig there one day.
  12. The more you gig, the more likely it is that you'll experience cancellations. My main band (Damo & The Dynamites) is playing something like 60 gigs in 2022. So far, we've been cancelled because Poor ticket sales (we were the support) Power cut wiping out Watford and NW London Injury in a motorbike accident Car breakdown Freak heatwave Currenty waiting for a plague of locusts ...
  13. Would that have been enough to have the venue refuse to let him play? 😉
  14. Yes yes yes, but apart from that ...
  15. Bullet dodged. I wonder how many honest musicians he has conned over the years (trans. stolen money from).
  16. @Silvia Bluejay and I have just been talking about this ... were you using speakers on tripods or speakers on sub-woofers (i.e. boxes)? Even in a newly-ploughed field a decent tripod is a very stable thing.
  17. This is indubitably the case. 😉
  18. My preferred solution would be to avoid gigs like that! 😂
  19. In all fairness, Clarky, a Marshall amp is a really vicious, aggressive piece of kit. Now if Wily had taken one of those cute, cuddly little Matamps he'd have been welcomed with open arms. 😂
  20. Very useable video, and sound is way better than the cheap Go-Pro copies, but not nearly as clear as that from a Zoom H4n. Obviously it's an outdoor gig so different rules apply to the sound anyway. I'd post links to some of our recent videos, but (especially for outdoors & festival-style gigs) we've used such a variety of recording equipment that I don't think you'd get much from it. 🙄
  21. That is one handsome instrument, but it does look as if it should be filled with single-malt ...
  22. Incidentally, headstock footage is typically rather seasick-inducing. Assuming you don't stand like a statue while you play, you'll most likely be searching for a few 3-sec and 5-sec shots where the headstock was at least relatively still so the clips can be slotted into fixed-camera footage. That being the case, you do have the option to strap a Q2n to your headstock at sound check or a few minutes before the gig starts, grab 30 seconds of decent footage (while you mime playing) and then remove all the gubbins for the actual gig. Just saying ...
  23. I thought Bahco were a little-known tool maker?
  24. You were robbed ... those knobs aren't original.
