1.
... this is a serious matter for anyone with injuries ...
Not sure if I should break this to you, but you don't need to be injured to have lumbar problems. They tend to come along as a freebie when you get a bit older. Also (and I'm not suggesting that you're laughing at it) but lumbar problems share one key element with sea sickness ... only funny until it happens to you. After that, you take it deadly serious.
 2.
A decent guitarist can sort that little issue surely!
Well yes, anyone who can play the guitar well can probably learn to play the organ too ... given time, of course.
 3. Good call - thanks for the tip.

 9.
You have two choices in my book. Green Onions, or Dick Dale's version of Misirlou.
Green Onions? With no organ?
 10. Parkas are better than anoraks. Well, for metal anyway ...
 11. Yes, the genre thing gets a bit blurred, especially in the early days. When I listened to Sad Wings Of Destiny and Sin After Sin, I wasn't thinking "wow, these guys are really paving the way for the NWOBHM", I was hearing a fusion of heavy rock and prog (yes, prog - listen to Sinner again).
 12. So ... 128 posts and Aerosmith don't get a single mention. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf0oXY4nDxE
 13.
I wonder if Happy Jack would be so kind to repeat what I said about the EBS 1x10 and 1x12 cabs in our PM...

You're free to do it, like i said, i only used the "EBS" example from your nick and my personal experience with gear. I never said on my post that you prefered the Neos over BF. Hope you're not too upset with my post.
Only just got back on-line, happy to oblige: Similarly, despite my fan boy name, the EBS 1x10 and 1x12 are quite possibly the shittest bass cabinets ever made (well, maybe second... ) I'm big enough to admit that. And yeah, the HD360 and TD660 were certainly not improvements on the originals... And they've moved all their pedal manufacturing to China and use sh*t switches which will fail. Excellent, balanced post Ghost_Bass. Regardless of whether you came down pro- or anti- the cabs in question, it's obvious that you have actual experience both of these cabs and of their direct competitors, and that you've thought the thing through before reaching for your keyboard. One last thought I'd like to chuck into this conversation before I start doing some actual ... erm ... y'know ... work: Alex has been making his cabs for just six years from a standing start, steadily improving them over that time, and isn't dead yet so I presume that he will continue to improve them for the foreseeable. Genuine Question: How long have Berg or TKS or EBS been making cabs?
 14. How long did it take for the bruises to heal?
 15.
I use clove oil followed by ibuprofen. Clove oil tastes nasty, but managing an irritation so it doesn't get worse is important.
You know when you describe yourself as "Basschat's Alan Partridge"? Well ...
 16. As luck would have it, I got to spend a little time with JMJ at the O2 before a NIN gig a few years back (courtesy of Steve Taylor / tayste_2000). I'm an accountant (well, sort-of) who turned up at a major rock gig dressed like a musician (whatever that means) and trying very hard not to be an accountant. JMJ is a massive rock star who turned up at a major rock gig dressed like an accountant (whatever that means) and trying very hard not to be a rock star. Go figure. But it was pretty entertaining. Nice guy, though, and a lovely wife.
 17. Machine Head a "forgotten gem"? I'm sorry Bilbo, but only a jazzer could come out with something like that! No one who had any interest in music during the 70s can possible have forgotten Machine Head.
 18. How do we know that you and Beedster aren't simply swopping the same piece of kit backwards and forwards so as to build up your positive feedback, and thus lull the rest of Basschat into a false sense of indifference?
 19.
// Running round in circles banging into things and hyperventilating while I try to choose only one.....//
Where do those lyrics come from?
 20. Oi you! Don't you go claiming SWOD for the bloody metallists ... back in them days, we called that stuff Heavy Rock. Anyway, SWOD can't be metal because it's one of my favourite albums and I bloody hate metal.
 21.
+ 1000
You had 1000 Rickenbackers?
 22. You'd really want to check that your flies were zipped before picking that up ...
 23.
Why exactly are you doing this?
It's Conan's poll and he'll answer for himself, but I'm certainly interested to see how this pans out. Like many on Basschat I have been fascinated by the polarisation of opinion when it comes to Alex and his cabs. The impression I get (and that's all it is, my impression) is that there is a very small number of Barefaced haters who compensate for their small numbers by being extremely noisy, and that there is a much larger number of Barefaced lovers (and yes, of course that includes me) who don't understand their hate. This poll offers a first serious effort to take impressions and replace them with actual numbers. Got to start somewhere ...
 24.
All made to a certain spec, or a derivitation of as specified by themselves. The problems that have been reported by others in other threads, don't follow this... routing bodies, hand carving necks, hand winding pickups, custom circuits... much different kettle of fish.
Google Translate, from the original Latvian?
