1. Just to be contrary, and FWIW, I reckon it's genuine. I agree that it looks dodgy but I think that's down to the photography. I have no idea what camera or settings he was using, but it has resulted in very unconvincing colours and textures. Try ignoring the bass and looking at the tiled floor underneath.
2. Metalflake 1 : 0 Leopardskin (after extra time, Metalflake will now play Perspex in the semi-final)
3.
http://www.ebay.co.u...0wAAOSwvihY-12G
Yup, saw that but it will only look cool (if that is one's idea of "cool") until the metalflake gets all chipped and scratched, at which point it will start to look like something owned by Gary Glitter.
4.
I was born in 1962 but my birthday is 28th December which, I suspect, means that most factories would have been closed for the rest of the year. This means any "YOB" bass built in '62 would be older than I am. At least the majority of basses built in '63 would have been built in 12 months from my birth.
You were born the day before my 6th birthday. I remember it well - I had measles and my party was cancelled. My birthday was a Saturday, so the only day on which the Fender factory could have been open for business would have been Monday 31st December 1956, so I can be pretty certain that no basses were built that day - especially since they used to make basses in small, occasional batches in the 50s. I chose as my YoB bass the first batch of Precisions built once I was around, which meant My bass was built in and
5. Better still, don't post a 'wanted' ad in Basses For Sale ...
6.
I just use a Tippex type pen Colin, just top it up as required and it gives a noticable white dot..cheap as chips too! https://www.amazon.c...ords=tippex+pen
Yup - dat's da fella. Plus of course it comes off easily with a scrape of the fingernail and leaves no trace. I've used Luminlay, glow-stickers, felt-tip pen, LEDs, you name it. The Tippex is by far the easiest fix for this.
7. I see a Wal bass and I want it painted black.

9. I had a chat with Dave Gartland this morning.

11. Could have been worse ... could have been Heinz Baked Beans cans.

13. Can you supply any of the missing data? Scale length, string spacing at bridge, neck width at nut, weight, etc. And what do the controls do?
14. An eminently sensible use of resources. I particularly enjoyed the way he started by using a Workmate in his back garden (as you do) before suddenly migrating to half a million quids' worth of cutting edge manufacturing kit (as you do).
15. I like that. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Just add https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/DIAGOPS01/power-supplies/diago-powerstation-multi-pedal-9v-power-supply?LGWCODE=DIAGOPS01;56375;6335&gclid=Cj0KEQjw0IvIBRDF0Yzq4qGE4IwBEiQATMQlMRFQXCE48xgGlw4e6yKqeB1zl6sZa33-RnskzkSTJ9oaAloZ8P8HAQ
16.
I was in a punk band once called The Premature Ejaculators. The name just came really quickly
One of the best genuine LOL moments I've had in ages, complete with funny looks from my work-mates.
17. Alles ist in ordnung.

19.
The UK Country Western club scene has been declining steadily since the mid to late eighties, which is why there aint a lot of interest in playing it.
That's because they all moved to Germany. http://youtu.be/hW0dt6HT9Hk
20. How very odd. All my experience with Thomann (including a couple of Returns) have been excellent. Hope this gets sorted for you.
21. I have four different Barefaced cabs and I'm getting worried. How on earth can I come up with a consistent motor vehicle analogy that will neither break down under stress (or on the A312) nor attract The Wrath Of Stevie? Christ! I'd almost rather get into another discussion about The Blessed St. Jeremy with a bunch of Corbynistas on the Election thread ...
22. Best check those M&Ms really carefully ... you never know what you might find.
23.
I don't know how these scrotes' minds work (or if they have minds at all) but I wonder if you make the outside of the shed too secure it might advertise that there's something in there worth nicking.
Six years ago I created the first of my Junkyard studios: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/149816-creating-my-own-rehearsal-space/page__hl__rehearsal%20space The photo at post #2 (taken at the start of the project) shows how the garage looked from the outside. Basically, like a garage. What you couldn't see was that the left-hand door actually fronted a solid wall, and the right-hand door concealed a steel barred gate like the cell door in a prison. I'm firmly on the side of preventing the buggers from getting in, rather than somehow limiting the damage they do once they're inside. IMHO the best way to prevent someone from breaking in is (1) to give them no reason to bother to try (essentially camouflage), and (2) to present them with an 'oh sh*t' moment if they do try (like a completely unexpected steel gate), leading them to look for someone easier to rob elsewhere. Attempting to damage the individuals concerned is a hugely attractive notion, but one that doesn't survive contact with reality.
24. If you were supporting Chuck Berry then you'd probably need to play for about 90 minutes to balance out his 30-minute headline set. Somehow I doubt that you're supporting Chuck ...
25. Only two of the many basses I have owned somehow escaped being photographed. One was an Aria Pro II, and the other was one of these Traveler basses. It wasn't identical to this, but must have been the model before it I guess. As a purely functional tool, a practice instrument to take on holiday or on business trips, it was perfectly adequate. As a gigging bass I wouldn't rate it.
