Silvie (Bluejay) and I were lucky enough to catch a rare London gig for 51m0n's band Mister Super Juice. They played The Village Inn at Castlebar Village (North Ealing) by invitation from the bongos-playing landlord. The crowd was small but very enthusiastic, this pub has no reputation as a music pub (it's a gastro) so some of the regulars deserted early, but plenty of passing trade came in and stayed when they heard how fine the band were. Loud, instrumental, 70s-style theme tune / cinematic funk, heavy on the brass - check out the trumpet player. The band is as tight as a gnat's tight thing, and the 3-piece rhythm section (four if you include the wah-wah guitar) drives things along very nicely. Silvie had her cameras and got busy. Bluejay & I were at The Village Inn in Ealing last night to hear 51m0n's band (Mr. Superjuice). Their PA is a pair of FR800s, though they have full backline too. The sound is undeniably very good indeed and I was well impressed. Only fair to point out that Si is a very competent sound engineer and they did a proper sound check an'all, so the band were definitely getting the best out of their rig.

[/quote] The original Ampeg Baby Bass caught on in the Caribbean and Central America with salsa players and established itself as a must-have instrument. I don't know the sales figures, but it wouldn't surprise me to find that Ampeg sold more of these in the Caribbean than in all of the USA. It's also noticeable that the Baby Bass 'clone' industry seems to be centred in South America. Kris Kedzior got the idea of making high-quality copies like his after marrying a South American lady and being exposed to a variety of poor-quality copies.
