The Vintera P is a great bass and sounds just like a P should with the stock pickups. The neck is wide though. Too much so for me as well. As for the OP play a few and choose the one that works for you. Country of origin or model doesn’t really matter.

Taxes and import fees from the USA can be shocking. I have underestimated these in the past.

Even without the pickups this is a fair price for a decent instrument. The CVs I have played are as good as most Mexican Fenders and this one looks great which is a bonus. I expect people are just cutting costs after an unusually expensive winter. -
