  1. Thanks Graeme - just to add to this, while I did offer a complete refund, Graeme was happy with a partial refund and keeping the pedal.
  2. Darkglass Alpha Omicron with original box and papers, etc. bought new by me 10 July 2020. This pedal is in completely brand new condition. I have decided to keep my Alpha Omega Ultra. With the double distortion engine (Alpha and Omega), the Alpha Omicron delivers unparalleled versatility, harmonic rich and bone-crushing sound. Designed for bassists in need of a preamplifier to be distinctively heard in any musical context. Blend: Mixes the clean and processed signals. The clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the Level knob, allowing for fine mix tuning. Level: Sets the volume of the overdriven signal. Drive: Sets the amount of gain in the overdriven signal. Mod: Selects or mixes between the two distinct distortion circuits: Alpha is punchy, tight with a lot of definition, whereas Omega is simply brutal and raw. Bite Switch: Boosts High Mids (2.8kHz) for additional presence and definition. Growl Switch: Shelving Bass Boost for a fatter tone and increased low end saturation.

  4. Agree completely here. I’ve played 33” scale only for the last five years or so and I’ve had good ones and not so good ones. The bit about being designed and built cleverly is important for any bass of course but absolutely essential on a bass with a low B.
  5. Whenever I see something I want there, it’s always overpriced - a Japanese Ken Smith Burner 6 (they’re rare but the one there at the moment is higher money than I’ve seen American Smiths here on BC) and an old Musicman Sabre (they are all hugely over priced - same ones for sale for literally years). I would buy something there though if the seller had great feedback.
  6. Lovely. I wish I was exaggerating when I say I've been on the lookout for a six-string version of this bass for 5 years now.
  7. They're very good players aren't they? But there really is absolutely no heart in it whatsoever... probably because, as you say Rich, any mistake may likely have serious consequences!
  8. We had this at my dads funeral as we entered the crematorium. As for me, how about 'Firestarter' by The Prodigy or maybe 'Blaze Of Glory' by Bon Jovi?
  9. I’d go with a second hand American Standard - that way you’ll more than likely get a great instrument and also be able to sell it for more or less what you paid when the GAS attacks again.
  10. Andy purchased my Eich BC112Pro combos. Deal was done and dusted within 24 hours. I really hope to deal with him again one day soon.
  11. Awesome. And Vanderkley is great equipment too.
  12. I pulled the trigger on two GRBass miniONE 350w heads to drive two AeroTech 112H (4ohm) cabinets. I’m very excited to A/B/C it with my Trickfish and Eich equipment.
  13. Sold an MXR overdrive to Nigel. Instantaneous payment. Perfect transaction.
  14. Looks like a very nice bit of kit. Very interesting concept.
  15. Yes, I think I'm going to go front ported now after a few conversations. I use a lot of delay/reverb/overdrive/looping pedals live so the ever so slightly larger footprint and .5kg weight increase are not significant enough to warrant the potential problems that can crop up with rear porting.
  16. Hi there @Bill Fitzmaurice - would you be kind enough to tell me which of these two options you would plump for if you had to choose between the two based purely on your knowledge and the information available here? 17. I found this for anyone else who might be interested in the miniONE. http://www.karlclews.com/blog/gear-part-10-gr-bass-mini-one In summary "...the Mini One performed admirably on the gigs. As a class D head, it’s fine to run it without a cab, so as planned, I simply plugged it directly into the PA. Since then, I’ve used it on a number of local gigs, driving my Epifani UL 410, and the 350 watts it puts out are plenty for most gigs - anything where you need more than 350 watts, you would tend to be putting the bass through the PA in any case. The sound of the Mini One is beautifully transparent - it doesn’t appear to colour the inherent tone of my basses at all, which is exactly how I like my amps to work! In comparison with the Genz Benz Shuttles, the bottom end of the Mini One feels more focused, and the mids are very punchy, so slap and more percussive fingerstyle cut through the mix very well. And the top end is nice and airy, and you really have to dial it way up before it starts to get harsh and brittle. All in all, it’s a fantastic little amp, and the tight, focused bottom end and distinctively punchy mids make it sound much, much bigger than its tiny size and 350 watts..."
