  1. I think I’ve found a solution and will post back when it arrives should anyone else want to protect their IEM kit.
  2. I have one of these "mixer" chaps for my IEMS. I could use my iPad to set up my levels but I prefer having knobs to to twiddle mid performance. When it comes to packing up, it goes in to a flight case with a divided section that has pull & pluck foam in. It works and keeps the mixer safe from bashes. The P16m sits in it's own foam slot. I want to try a different case as I am downsizing and have thought about butting the P16m in to some sort of foam lined ABS shell to protect the knobs on top. I could then use an overall smaller case. Thing is.. can I find anything even remotely suitable? NAH!! So, infinite wisdom of BassChat I need help! I've tried Peli Style cases and even Tupperware but I am running out of ideas. What do you think? Anyone do injection moulding or anything here?
  3. I have your answer!!! I had Roqsolid make me a custom padded bag for my pedal board which was oversized due to having a Helix LT mounted on it with some other pedals. Worth every penny! (Although it's sitting upstairs doing nothing at the moment ha ha!!) If you speak to Bryn at Roqsolid, they are really helpful at getting the design you need right and the materials they use are of a very high quality too. @ROQSOLID recently made me a set of cases for my function band's lights as replacements weren't available. I also had a free Mic bag thrown in too, which I think might survive wars! Dan.
  4. Oh yes.. it is very good!
  5. Arrived and I popped two in my natural P bass pick guard even before trying them out
  6. OOOPH!! Well that's my Start fetish sorted then!!
  7. Now that one was a particularly good machine. Sadly, just before my life came a tumbling down around me, I had to let that one go along with both of my Dingwall basses. I am very pleased that the bass went to a good home and is still being loved! Definitely keeper material. Heaven knows how Jon manages to find such gorgeous pieces of wood!
  8. Awww thank you Pete! - The maple board PB70 basses are also rather lush!!
  9. The only downside is the treatment as some flip paints don't like going on a surface such as wood rather than that of solid metal surfaces. One of my basses (whose finish is over ten years old) is a little brittle as it was the best paint available at the time. The new mixtures are much better.
  10. Thank you so much! Flip Paint is definitely my thing!! I've basses here just waiting to get the treatment! (Maybe not the 76 precision though ha ha!) - Yes most people refer to TVR cars when they see my flip paint basses. Absolutely lovely!

    What to do...

Ok, currently I have (not in order) Lush Chorus, Slightly OTT Flanger, Oct down, solo boost, tremolo (pedal controls speed), Delay&Rev on one button, deluxe comp, wah, env filter. The wah is on the toe button and in some cases multiple effects or paths are engaged on a single button. It’s not really a serial set up like a standard pedal board. Actually thinking about it, my entire signal path A just sets up my core tone (I use cascaded drives to get a band-pass “warmth” and pairs of EQ’s for pre and post shaping. The EQ shaping I’ve been doing for years with silly amounts of rack gear, so it’s super nice to be able to do it in one unit now!) Deluxe Comp is blended and my solo boost is just a few decibels of lift to push me to the front of the mix more.

    What to do...

Well, just to go the other way in the conversation, I actually planned to sell mine too. I even bought an HX Effects with the intention of downsizing. Which actually worked rather well for the gigs I was playing. But then, one day I actually spent some proper time getting my LT set up in a way that better suited my needs, Once I figured that out..well, I sold the HX!! I'm hanging on to the LT now I think. Yeah, it is actually over kill for my current gig as I have it set up for only 8 effects really. LT does those effects gloriously though...
  13. FC50 sold pending shipping! thank you b714s!
  14. @MoJo - I do, it's a reverse type 640R Resolite Ping me a message! It's spare and looks new too.
  15. I might have one Mojo!! Honestly, I think I have the reverse type.
  16. Tons of extra info here: http://www.deaky.net/indexE.html You'll need the plectrums too: http://www.deaky.net/bass/pickE.html If you can find any out there!
  17. And here's the black-on-black babe. I believe it is still owned by the BCer who bought it from me. I did try to buy it back at one point, but understandably, the owner liked it too much! Good on him I say.
  18. oh, and if you can find a Fender PB70-US ASH R/W model you will be laughing!!!!!! Stunning Japanese made basses! I would grab one in a heartbeat , funds allowing. I'd say that that's a great place to start for your John Deacon bass.
  19. Hey folks, Just chiming in here. Thank you for the tag! Andy has pretty much answered everything you need to know! I did indeed do two JD tribute basses and my latest Fender is a nod to JD as well. My first, which I foolishly sold was a "Wembley 86 era" tribute which started life as a CIJ (non-export model) PB70-US. I actually had a special order with Fender Japan as they stopped making the all black version at the time. I would highly recommend this instrument to cover the '68 Fender JD had as it is a very close version - but also it has the 40mm nut width which would suit your request in the OP. My second tribute bass also featured a PB70-US neck, but I had Jon Shuker mate it with a stunning piece of timber for the body. This version went with the tortie pickguard and I alter sold it on BC as I knew I had a huge pang for the real thing! Pictures below: My JD tribute, but in this image it has a black guard and Billy Sheehan P pickup. Picture two is a snapshot from Wembley 86. You will see, with reference to the discussion about bridges, that after the refurb, JD had a Schaller 3D (2000??) bridge added. Not necessary if you are going with the natural look. and speaking of natural, picture 3 is my near-UPS-disaster and utterly gorgeous '76 precision bass. (I would have saved up for a 68 and found a couple I liked, but this one is my birth year) I LOVE it!!! Sounds amazing!
