1. I got a fair way up and I heard things falling off the walls... three houses down.. ;o)
2. Hey Rik! Great to have ya over yesterday! - Yeah, we ran out of time! - but yes, you were there when the courier delivered the mighty beast to the door! So far, in AB tests with my usual rig, I have to say I am very impressed! - It's always easy to get excited over new toys and the 'newer has to be the better' etc - but the added functionality and options of the Kilo are certainly giving me lots of ideas! I'll do some proper pictures later on and then maybe next week I'll put a full review together when I have a bit more time. It's getting a fair amount of attention on my FB pages
3. I thought things were going just great up to 3 minutes or so - some really nice harmonies in there. The phone rang so I didn't watch to the end, but it did go a bit murky....
4. I've just taken delivery of one of the first Kilos on UK shores. Expect a review in the next day or so, should I be able to peel myself away from this sexay beast!
5. I've deleted your duplicate ad' in the Basses forum for you
6. That's very kind of you to say so! That's kinda what I had in mind too! I've always believed that it isn't right to use tutoring sessions as a way of boosting your own ego with a bit of woodshedding and I've taken the same view with the magazine. Yes, there will be times when I will be asked to demo playing styles etc, but reviewing gear isn't the place to get all showy.. Readers are not looking to buy me after all, but rather the amp gear!
7. Haha! My hat over shadows my achievements and I feel an incredible attachment to it! Bass players in hats, you see!
8. I'm off to record some of the reviews for the next issue at the end of the week. Next issue will be later in November but will be sure to let everyone know!
9. It's online only I'm afraid, but I guess that does mean you can't accidentally throw it away! As for prices, I believe it is because the magazine is international and thus having a list of ever changing prices in different currencies would prove ineffective. It's not reall a metal driven magazine. I think this particular edition has some metally features and columns but there will no doubt be space for everyone! The list of artists I want to interview is certainly varied between genres. I'd be happy to put forward reasonable suggestions for reviews and interviews too be it gear or artists.
10. edited to include competition to launch the bass department!
11. Yes indeed, it's a shameless plug - but I'm very excited! It's one of three awesome things that have happened today that I am over the moon about! For the last six months, maybe more I have been 'working' with the Guitar Interactive Magazine guys http://www.iguitarmag.com getting material ready for something they have had planned for, well, since Licklibrary began I guess. It seems the company were looking for a bright, interesting, experienced, knowledgeable, sexy, talented Bass player to head up their new venture.. guffaw! So, given they couldn't find that person, I was asked ..well, actually told if I am honest that I will be their guy to face The 'Bassment', the brand new bass section in this online magazine! - Um, for those who haven't seen the magazine already, you flick through but can watch videos or reviews, interviews and columns as well as the written text that you'd usually get with an off the shelf mag. I have an introduction on the home page of the website and my features begin later on in the mag.. my very own section! GULP!! Right, rambling over, here's the direct link to the magazine: http://licklibrary.c...g/issue5/page/1 please do have a read and be gentle with me! These are my first reviews so will be perfecting my 'technque' as time goes on, but I certainly welcome constructive criticism! Oh the other two things? Well, earlier today I found my favourite hat that went missing for three weeks.. ok, I lost it! might not seem that exciting to everyone else, but I LOVE this big saggy hat!! - The third item.. well, you'll have to wait until it arrives on my doorstep for a review, but I know some of you will be very interested! Ok, Thank you for reading and please, it'd be great if you could post links out for me so the editor thinks I'm great! EDIT: I missed the competition on page 192 to win a years worth of strings and accessories! GET IN!!
12. Right from the man at the top! Larry is a top guy!
13. I've just sold my TC G Major 2 and Roland MIDI controller to AceBass'. Easy transaction, clear, helpful, great communication etc Pleasure to deal with!
14. I'd suggest he clear his temp files and cookies. If he's also on PC, then a 'network repair' on the NIC will also flush DNS entries etc. He might need to do the same on his router along with a reboot to pick up a new IP. Ah wait... He cant connect via wifi on his mob either, then yeah, router needs a flush and reboot to pick up a new IP. (it's also possible to block addresses on most routers too, so he may do well to make sure it hasn't been fiddled with!)
15. I'd buy this as an iPad app, brilliant for teaching with, that's for sure.
16. Hey Shep! Great review! Think I'm gonna need to hear one of these myself!
17. I would certainly say no problem, but I'm afraid this time, i'm back to update the ad as Sold. Sorry!
18. Yup, I have to admit, Stag and Kev do bring stunningly good biscuits over! The lovely bassy goodness is 'pending sale' now.
19. Yeah, he replied to one of my messages offering me a Hartke 2155 that I am looking for! Little bugger!!!
20. Ahhh Cheers Jackers! They certainly are great little cabs - I think those who are more used to paper cones like these better as they have the same warmth but I think the ally give just the right amount of bite. I'm afraid my Shuker really is one bass I will never part with! Infact, so much so, I wanna get another one!! ha ha!
21. Hi! The whole rig? MASSIVE! Tons of low end on tap! The LH1000 is a monster if it is unleashed - mostly it stays on about 2 or at a push three on the volume control! The cabinet in question? Punchy, tight, clean, very loud if need be with the added warmth from the paper and aluminium mix. There is a really nice attack even with the tweeter turned off and the 10" cones react really well to pedal distortion too.The tweeter has three settings, ON, -6dB and OFF, allowing tailoring of the top end with ref to application. Nice and lightweight, dead easy to carry and has removable wheels. It's 1000W RMS and has sets of Speakons and !/4" Jack Sockets on the rear for link up and daisy chaining.
22. bump - was too busy to eBay so your chance to get an amazing effects unit for notta lotta money!
