1. I think a lot of the you tube clips are fakes, but it doesn't make them any less hilarious, and they make me feel a lot better about those bad bad bad nights!
2. Something to make even our worst nights seem just a little better, can this be beaten? http://youtu.be/NOF1FJ7wGhw
3. Bugger, I just paid £629 for one of these!
4. This may be a silly question, but what is the balanced input for? Could I use the balanced Input to play the iPod through for example?
5. I just love the tone of the red head, too heavy for me, but an unbeatable tone from these.
6. I'm hoping that some Christmas funds may just fund this baby!
7.
A very good choice for portability and it's very capable for gigs in small pubs. I had one for a few years and loved it. I still regret selling but at the time I owned a LMII and a barefaced midget so i thought I was covering the same ground twice. The Midget was louder and fuller than the CMD121P. I know you like AER and my AER amp two is way louder, deeper and clearer than the Markbass combo, it fact, it's superior in every way - except weight and size. Frank.
It's weight and size that did it for me, I don't like unnecessary power and size, I'm hoping that This will do the job for practise and venues with a PA, and will get the extension cabinet for those occasions where no pa and its too leage for the Markbass to carry the low end by its self, I love AER, and two would be beaut if it was 20lb lighter! I think I'm actually just addicted to buying new gear!
8.
Woah, eardrum alert! I never had mine on more than 10 0`clock - with gain set to just clip on the very loudest notes.
I've owned a whole load of amps in my time, and I can't think of any that do, I think it's something to do with the fact that the louder you get, the more watts you need to increase the volume, and any increase is less noticeable anyway!
9. Well I tried it in the shop and the bloke let me put it next to my orange terror bass to compare, terror bass was definitely more dirty and full, but the mark bass was very sweet, and volume wise I cranked them both up and again there wasn't much between them, they're similar up to 12 o'clock and then not much extra on either after that, anyway I got the mark bass, I think I will probably get the extension cab at some point in the future, they're not silly money picked up second hand, band camp on Monday for some mark bass funk, let's see how it gets on.
10. I had the CMD102 and sold it, that was plenty loud, I was wondering whether the 121 is anywhere near as loud, and whether it has a little more bottom end!
11. I'm wondering whether this would would cut it live, bars with a couple of hundred people in? Or whether that would need and extension can, my orange terror combo can gig a pretty big hall at a push, can this?
12. As the title says, anyone got one of these? I had the CMD102 a while back but moved it on and I'm considering this as a good lightweight option, I'm trying one on Friday but that is not like playing with a full band, does this cut it for live performances in pups or halls?
13. If I end up buying your compressor I woundnt mind coming over and comparing this to my meatball, if you hadn't sold it before I've convinced Mrs Anthony that I NEED it!
14. Played a couple of gigs this weekend, both without compression (as I don't have one at the moment!) the first gig was a medium sized bar in Nottingham, 100 people or so in a narrow but long room and all sounded great, played last night in a big open hall and bass was a unruly and boooooomy I think I shall get me a decent compressor and run it all the time with just a little to tame the beast!
15. Is this still available?
16. If I hadn't just bought a meatball this would also be very high on my want list!
17. Would love this, but i could struggle to misappropriate £200 without the wife finding out, particularly since I've just forked our £300 on a meatball.......it's worthna go though....
18. Hi James, I could be interested in this as I'm after a compressor now that I sold you my AER amp one with the very good inbuilt compressor! How old is she?
19. Yep, that looks like the answer !
20. There are loads of really nice inexpensive soft leather handles on eBay, why do they design combos with top spec components to create the killer sound and lightweight components to increase the portability of the thing just to ruin it with a crap cheap handle! It really would not hit the profit margin...surely...
21. I've got through plenty of bass amps and combo's over the years, and my current orange Terror bass combo is one of my favourites, power, size, weight, volume (coolness!) boxes all well and truly ticked, however if I intended to design a handle that was extremely uncomfortable and would cut into my hands after only a couple of seconds like a piece of cheese wire, then this rather slim strip of plastic is what I would have designed, I challenge you to find a more uncomfortable and badly designed piece of cheese wire strapped to the top of your amp!
22. I tried a 3 leaf proton and it was a little tame! So that's gone back to bassdirect and instead I just bought a lovetone meatball off ebay (if you're gonna do it, may as well do it right!) I had one of these 20 years ago when I first started playing on a two week trial from lovetone, I couldn't afford to keep it so it went back. It's taken this long to work my way through quite a few envelope filters and decide to splash the cash. Can't wait for it to arrive! Anybody else got a meatball?
23. James just bought my AER amp one. Paid by bank transfer the day before hand, good smooth transaction And a good honest bloke.
24. Hi, is this still available? Is it the exact same model as the YouTube clip?
