1.
If the requirement is a smaller/lighter IP, does an AER amp one fit the bill? They're silly money, but from what I've read they have some of the DSP magic built in, similar to the IP?
I can vouch for the AER amp one, and if you see my thread on their customer service I don't think they can be beaten. You would not believe the power, volume and bottom end that come out of these tiny boxes. The only thing for me that could possibly beat an amp one for overall sound and portability would be the amp three (I'm yet to try one but the reviews give it the edge on the amp one). And yes, they are silly daft bonkers ridiculous nuts money, but you get what you pay for, a top quality amp with some kind of retro-fitted alien nuclear fusion technology, (otherwise known as German engineering!) and, of course the best in customer care.
2. I've just had confirmation from the guys at westside distribution in Glasgow that the replacement amp one has been posted out of Germany today! Hopefully arriving with me by the end of the week. It's took a while but what fantastic customer service this is. The only question now is do I sell my new new amp one on basschat for what would be a very reasonable price for a new amp and upgrade to the amp three, or do I stick with this delightful combo???????
3. Possibly, after 20 years of playing bass, I've never played a five string though so will have a think! I've done a Google search and these do look nice though, what's its spec? could you please send some photos to [email protected]
4. Just been having a play on both of these and they are a pair of beauties!
5. The P is very tidy indeed, like new. With any luck the precision is a time limited offer, I'm working on Mrs Anthony and I think she is coming around to me keeping the P...!, The status is a great instrument but it just doesn't suit when I'm playing, it's quite a modern sound and I need that old school P bass sound, hence I want to keep this P as a back up!
6. I haven't got it yet, there is still time for them to change their mind!
7. I've had plenty of trade offers and a few cash offers, keep them coming.
8. I hope so, I haven't actually got it yet, but it should be getting posted out from Germany early next week, I wait and hope!
9. I'm hoping that this has a happy ending. I absolutely love my AER amp one which I purchased off basschat earlier this year, however a couple of weeks ago it developed some rather strange vibrations which I just could not identify, I can't complain, you buy second hand and you take the chance. Anyway I eventually sent this up to the UK distributers in Glasgow and AER sent a new chassis out to them with an inbuilt fan as they thought the heatsink wasn't Cutting it? This was FREE OF CHARGE, however this still did not solve the problem. So what do AER do now???????? Send me a brand new AER amp one free of charge, it's not arrived yet but it's not bad to say it's a 2008 model, well out of its warranty, and I'm the third owner!!!!
10. I really like the look of this, the sunburst looks quite bright though, the pictures I see of this on the Internet seem to be a more tobacco sunburst colour, is this as bright as it appears or is it just the glare on the photos?
11. A little Funk bump, a snippet of me using my Status S2 Classic on a promational video for Yellow Arch Studio in Sheffield, unfortunately the editor thought it would be hillarious to use the tiniest bit of footage of me that he could, whilst looking at my most uncoolest !!!- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm1Z2RL5Hw8
12. My band has only just started to get out of the rehearsal stage but we somehow managed to get on a pretty cool promotional video for yellow arch studio in Sheffield, just a touch of our funk to brighten it up ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm1Z2RL5Hw8
13. Are there any trades you interested or cash only?
14. Getting some interest in both of these now, mainly trades though. If I was to consider trades it would be for 70s Precisions on the status
15. I'll always give a peavey Bam a bump, if you want great sound and a REALLY loud 210 combo and don't mind something with a little weight to it, this can't be beat, specially at this price, plus it has the elusive foot switcha!
16. It's gotta be funky, and the UK is producing some great funk / groove bands like the new master sounds, the grits (although their new album is a little dodgy!) and the Aussies bring some quality grooves to the table with deep street soul.
