1. Underwhelming indeed And priced at 65 quid Much better suggestion BigRedX
2. Me too Let us know if it does go, or if available again Marc
3. Yes - just to be absolutely sure, before you start taking the EUB apart .... you never know Anyhow - let us know what you find and good luck with it Marc
4. Firstly, I'd test some other instrument through that amp and check your leads too... Not quite sure how you've plugged the tuners in Don't think I've heard anyone else using 2 tuners before Of course, there might also be a problem there, or possibly some sort of "conflict" in the tuners Check your EUB through another amp too, and double check your leads Good luck with sorting it, and let us know how you get on Marc EDIT: There may be some other friendly BC'er near your area, who'll let you try your bass in their amp? or their bass through your amp? - worth a thought....
5. Hi Miguel, It wasn't the wrong decision - it was the right one Welcome to BC, and welcome to the world of bass playing As they say, "Like every other good musician - you're following a bass player!" Cheers Marc
6. 6 strings? oooo no, I have enough trouble with 4 lol Yes, as long as there's life in the old dog... And if there's beer that needs drinking and basses to play.....
7.
Why not just get another bass?
8. Bump, and a price drop to £50 I could do with the space, so Come on someone - this is a great case for that money and it's pretty much in mint condition
9. Welcome Al, I'm a middle aged BC'er too I started in the 80's and gave up playing after about 4 years 20 odd years later, I started playing again, and haven't looked back I've got a 20+ year old son, who also plays bass and he's pretty damn good, but I wish he'd join a band These days, I play Double Bass too .... and I really love that Keep playing matey and I'm sure you'll meet lots of good folk on here Marc
10. I have a 4 string version, also with the Ovangkol neck Same colour blue as this one too .... it's a really nice bass too If I was after a 5 string, I'd be lusting after this bass.... ... but sadly, I've got GAS for other stuff at the moment Good luck with the sale
11. Wish this bass was a bit nearer me (in South Wales) So I could give it a whirl.... On second thoughts, I'm sure I'd buy it if I tried it Can't believe someone hasn't snapped it up Have a free bump

Nice.... Where are you based?
14.
Definitely a twist. In theory I gather you've altered the two truss rods separately, when really what you do to one you should do to the other too. It's all about minuscule adjustments with a bass with two truss rods else they will counteract each other and so much can go wrong. From my experience that bump looks like maybe in one place the truss rod has been tightened so much on the bass side it has probably hit the fingerboard and unfortunately most likely also will have twisted the neck. My suggestions: Get a good heavy string gauge, but leave them slack, take off all the tension from the truss rod on the bass side then tune the bass side strings (E & A) to say Eb to look where you're at. Adjust by tightening little by little over a week or two and keep checking where you're at with a straight edge and by sighting the neck. Leave the strings slack only tune them to check how the action is and if it looks like it's moved at all. DO NOT leave tension on the D and G strings as this will pull the treble side and make the twist worse. The neck is hard rock maple, if it is twisted it's gonna be a bitch to get out, so it may be worth looking into a tension jig to see if that may help. As a last LAST LAST resort there's always the case of slackening both truss rods completely and slowly tightening them over a few weeks working with a straight edge each time. Hope this helps
Good answer! Definitely looks like a twist from those photos I'd take note of JazzBassFreak's advice Also, I was once told by a luthier, that sometimes it's good practice to allow the trussrod(s) to "settle" i.e. Don't attempt to over-adjust them all in one go Allow a bit of time between adjustments I think he mentioned a half turn every few hours..... Make sure to let us know how you get on but most of all - good luck Marc
15.
I'd not worry at all; you can get as good a sound at house volume as you can cranked. TBH you are better off having all of that extra headroom in case you get to a situation where you are playing with a loud drummer and you have no PA support.
+ to this reply If you end up finding other musicians sooner than you currently anticipate You're ready to be up & running straight away...
16. I can't believe there are no takers for this bass Seriously folks - these are brilliant instruments... I always thought they are under rated It's more that double the quality that this price suggests A bargain for someone..... Have a free bump
17. Sorry to hear of your loss too artisan I know what you mean re not waiting too long for something But I do like the look of your nice blue bass Looks lovely Marc EDIT: What you ask for your Strunal depends on how much they are new how much they go for second-hand usually, what condition is yours in, and what mods have you made that might add value.....
18.
Just to add to your GAS, my Duke turned up last week and it's proper lovely...
Yes, lets see some pics please... No, wait - you might make me want one too!

Hi again Jus Lukin, Trawling ebay today, I saw this & thought of you (ooo err, how does that sound?) A bit closer to home for you too, I think? Worth a look anyhow..... Yes, I'd like to hear from anyone who has played one of those slim DB's They do look like they'd be a bit easier to transport about the place... ... what with me not getting any younger! But what is the sound like, when amplified?
21. Bought a Markbass pedal from Simon Great guy to deal with He answered my daft questions, and the subsequent transaction was smooth fast, safe delivery too Deal with confidence people of basschat Marc
22. Anyone recommend a good DB luthier in Cardiff? I just fancy a set-up, maybe lower the action a tad, and general check-over for my bass Marc
23. Played Double Bass and acoustic bass guitar last night, accompanying singer, songwriter, guitarist Georgia Patterson and Nigel Hodge on Flute & Sax We played at Llanhilleth folk club, in the Open Hearth pub Pontypool The 1st half of the evening was open-mic, and a few people got up & played It was a good evening, and lots of people seemed to like the sound of my double bass Although I myself couldn't hear it too well...... It was the 1st time I'd played a proper gig with the duo having had only 1 rehearsal, and done open mic twice before with Georgia... All in all, it was very enjoyable Can't wait to play another gig now.....
24. I have a PF 500, which I really only use as a backup head or depending on which band / musicians I'm playing with, I use it as my main amp with a smaller rig...... and I've used it quite a bit for rehearsals I've got to say, I really like the sound the amp produces and it packs a punch, especially for something so small So far, no issues with it whatsoever, except as earlier posts suggest re the gain control On one of my active basses (Ibanez SR500) I need to take care on not setting output on the bass, and gain on the amp too high The limiter simply cuts in - but no cutting out issues..... Although I haven't used it a huge amount, it seems totally reliable and it's a head I really like Again, maybe I'm just lucky and got a good one.... Just adding my own thoughts / experiences to the others who've found their Ampeg PF's to be fine
