1.
Thanks Dad, your so inspirational. I just don't think a song about a woman with her hand up a rabbit's arse is something I've conceived before :-p
eh, TWO rabbits arses, actually.
 2. ok, ok... so now I'm expecting a few dirty, fuzzy, grungey guitar things. hmm
 3. I've had two awful experiences with DHL, one really spectacular one, so when I order from Thomann I ask them if they can use a different courier and they've obliged every time. It's probably still DHL from Thomann to the airport, but then somebody else takes over when it gets to Ireland.
 4. It's like a Dan Armstrong body with a Fender neck. ...but, then, Fender fretboards go all the way to the end of the neck, as Rumple pointed out.
 5. Oh, interesting! ...but WHY wasn't that finish available for my sr506? Lovely. edit: Although, I must add, the B on my 34" bass is a-ok so I'm not too pushed about this fanfrettery.
 6. Got a guitar that's mostly black? Photograph it against black.
 7. I'm in. but I have no idea what to do with that image
 8.
You need to get hands on with a prestige quality Ibanez to appreciate the difference in quality to their less expensive models.
Yeah, I'd love to. Once I got over the honeymoon period with my sr506, I have to admit it's a very good bass for the money (€600 wasn't going to get me another six string anywhere that quality) but I can easily imagine how it could be improved. I'd love to try their Veasley or Gary Willis bass.
I think it looks gorgeous and if the SR prestige basses are anything to go by I imagine it will play and sound fantastic. Saying that (when taking exchange rate into account) these are roughly the same price as as ACG custom (starting price of one at least).
Funny, that's exactly the luthier that popped into my head when I thought about what I'd do if I had this much money to spend on a bass.
Looks great, I do agree though, like Warwick it's hard to justify that sort of price for a production line built instrument. It's funny I've not had GAS for a 5 string Ibanez since I was about 17, but I'm lusting after an ATK 805e at the moment
Yeah, the production line/ "handbuilt" distinction doesn't bother me too much but, if the money and quality are equivalent, then I'd definitely choose to support an independent luthier over a big factory. I love the look of the ATKs too. There's been a couple in the classifieds here and, only for I'm saving money for tools to make a bass, I'd definitely have one by now.
 9. Any thoughts on this? I think it's lovely-looking but I'm also posting it because I think it's interesting to see all this blurring of brand-name perception. I know Ibanez are seen as good-for-the-price kind of basses, and now there's this high-price, higher-spec apparition. The same used to be said about Squier. Fenders cheap, kind of crappy budget option. Now, not only to people love Squiers, but standards appear to slipping in American-made Fenders to the extent that many people prefer Squiers. (I don't play either Squier or Fender. Please don't lynch me if you disagree. I'm just passing on what I've gleamed from Basschat and Talkbass) Anyway, I think it's interesting. Would you pay this much for a Soundgear? I have an SR506 and I like it a lot, but if I had this kind of money to spend on a bass, I wouldn't go for a Soundgear. 10.
Stick up a classified on Join My Band.
cool. I never heard of that. Thanks. Pity it's regional, though. I just want to work over the internet with someone.
 11. Finish a thing. Once upon a time (2008, I think) I joined a bunch of people to make an album in a month. An album each, I mean. One definition of an album is 28 minutes and there was 28 days in February, so we did that and it was fun. Since then, though, I just noodle about with an idea and then forget about it, never seeing through. I'll be using the BC compo comp to help me take an idea a little bit further. I need to learn (a lot) more about mixing and mastering. I'd also like to collaborate with someone, I think. I'd like to work with a singer but I don't know how to grow/find one of them. So, any progress on any of that would be nice for 2015
 12. late and not very helpful but my brother has a Dolphin II like yours but red. There's a couple of small spots where it got hit and the paint chipped off. The wood underneath is very pale, like ash or basswood. Lovely bass, that.
 13.
What do you think would be good for metal? Chain mail?
strangely enough, it's silk.
 14. Hang on a second.... I'm pretty sure he's wearing a cotton tee shirt. That's insane! Doesn't he know that cotton molecules absorb electrostatic quantum bass nodules? I mean, yeah, cotton's ok for reggae blues or whatever, but there's no way you're going to get that tight, mellow, high-end, mid-rangey, scooped, warm, bass presence attack that you need for jazz.
 15. Yes. Skol303 all the way. I was sad that work got in the way of me taking part this month but, even if I did get something done, I'd be rooting for Skol this time Love it.
 16. "a lot of bass for £120" So true. GLWTS
 17.
I did unlistenable free jazz for September's compocompo. I actually got a vote!!!!
oh nice one. All right, let's see where I end up..
 18. I had to miss Novembers competition so I'm keen to get back into this. The problem is that the thing that comes most strongly to my mind when I think about fireworks is the complete lack of rhythm. I'm worried that the only way I can respond to this image is with some ludicrous, unlistenable, arhythmic "free jazz" nonsense...
 19.
You certainly know how to keep a secret.
*ahem*
well, I've hidden it now. .....all I was saying was that I think you made a great choice ...whoever you voted for. I'm not saying who.
20.
Ça y est..! Once again, a prime crop to choose from, which never simplifies the task. I have, however, after giving each a fair run, decided on that which, imo, best suited the picture. So many differing interpretations; some even breaking the 'indus' mould to open up the possibilities even further. All in all, a great harvest for an inspiring painting. Who finally got my vote..? It's no secret, it went to ...
... 'Octo', by alittlebitrobot..! A short piece, elegantly composed and executed, evoking aptly and in peace the regular pacing in the echoing hall, with a delicate resolution. Well done, that fellow.
Felicitations, of course, to absolutely all of the entrants for sharing their various forms of genius (yes; no less..!) with us. Who will win this month, though..? Suspense again, it would seem.

whaaa..! Wow! Thanks! I checked back here to see how it was going, not expecting a single vote. That's great. Thanks Dad3353
21. It's Skol or Leonards Smalls contributions for me. Both excellent.
 22. I'm going to go for "Where is my mind" by Pixies. The song sounds like the bass and drums are the rhythm and the lead guitar is on top but the rhythm guitar is so important. That double-strum bit at the end of the phrase blends so well that most bass players think the bass does it too. Here, let the lovely Kim Deal explain: http://youtu.be/WCPy_57z4_w?t=1m13s
 23. Thank you! Although I usually have the black stuff in a pint glass. What I skimmed over previously was that I'm going away for the full month of November and I have a lot of stuff to get ready, as well as the day job, so I know I won't have another minute to work on any music until December. Today was my last chance to do this and I would LOVE to spend more time on it 'cause I know I'll listen to it tomorrow and squirm. I'll listen to it first, then the other submissions. I think that's probably the best way. Still, it's my first one, so I've no standards to uphold, and my next (more studious) attempt can only be an improvement, so it's win-win!
 24. Robots! I wish I'd found out about this earlier. I'm going to be really busy so I only had yesterday and today to get something done for this. I have immense definciencies in mixing and mastering but it was loads of fun. I'd like to say I'll improve with next months but I'm going away, so.... December? If there's going to be a December one, I'm in. Here's mine https://soundcloud.com/alittlebitrobot/octo
