  1. No worries. Come along for the ride although it may be confusing!!
  2. hello again...... I’m afraid mine is the complex requirement. I wish it was easy but I’m baffled by it. In top down order the switches are; neck pup on / off, bridge pup on / off, series / parallel. The other top left dpdt is active / passive bypass. its the yellow from the existing volume to the the active / passive bypass dpdt that confuses me. If there are 2 volumes I’m not sure what happens to that feed. Although thinking about it, the feed would go to the first volume pot and then the 2 volumes would be wired as normal vvtt? Thanks again.....hopefully the fog of confusion will lift soon.....
  3. I’ve been looking at the jaguar wiring diagram and can’t figure out how to incorporate 2 sets of stacked pots for VVTT set up. In fact I’d go as far as to say my head hurts trying to figure it out...... I’ve attached the jag wiring diagram in the hope that someone knows how to add stacked pots for independent vol / tone for each pup as I’m baffled.
  4. Thanks but hopefully Andyjr1515 has sorted me. Thanks very much though.
  5. It’s a 2006 MIJ model. I’m pretty sure it’s the original bridge. I’ve ordered the all parts ones now as I figured it may be the pitch. If not, then that’s 2 lots of incorrect saddle screws. If I buy any more, I may as well have upgraded it coz it’s rubbish anyway!!
  6. Thanks for that. I just bought some 6-32 x 1/2” grub screws and they didn’t fit but I’m guessing it’s the pitch that’s wrong? Hence UNC thread?
  7. Can anyone help out there? I can’t find the thread size for the height adjustment screws for the vintage style threaded saddles found on vintage USA and on Japanese Jaguar basses. Alternatively if anyone knows where to get them then that would be even better..... That means that this is a thread about the thread on threaded saddles. Thanks

  9. Up for sale is this rather clever 75 watt, 2 x 5", Ashdown B-Social desk top practice amp. It's like new and is a packed full of features. The cleverest feature is that you can hook up your ipad or iPhone through the apptek port and use amp simulation apps like bias fx, jam up, amplitude or ampkit to customse your sound (that includes bass or lead guitar simulation). You can have 2 instruments plugged in (so you can have 2 people rehearsing through it) and it has an audio in so you can plug your ipod in too. That's 2 guitars, one ipad and an ipod. Guitar input can also work wirelessly via the wireless dongle which plugs straight into your instrument. Music can be streamed via your phone and connected via Bluetooth instead of plugging it in. The connectivity options are really good. It also has recording capability as there is a USB port and it's compatible with PC or Mac. Anyway, it's like new as I've hardly used it (maybe it has too much for a simple soul lile me). I have the original box so it can be safely shipped too. Jazz bass and ipad not included in sale! Here's what Ashdown say; Straight out of the box, B-Social delivers signature Ashdown bass tone via a powerful 75W stereo amplifier and two custom dual concentric 5” drivers, specifically designed to deliver punchy low-end in the most compact enclosure. Unlocking further tonal possibilities, the App-Tek socket allows players to access the ever-growing range of amp sim and effects apps available on Smartphones and devices, including Ashdown’s very own ABM Pre App. Wireless Allowing the bassist to roam at home, B-Social features wireless audio connectivity and a transmitter that lets the bass connect wirelessly to the amp for cable free jamming. Wireless Bluetooth audio connectivity also enables audio streaming from any compatible music player. Adding a new social dimension to the amp, the B-Social includes a second input so the bassist can play along with another bass player or guitarist - electric or acoustic. “It’s a simple feature - and obvious - but so often over looked by amp companies,” says Mark Gooday. “Being able to plug into a single amp with a friend or band mate makes B-Social a great tool for collaborative writing and recording.” Recording Recording itself is made simple via the built-in USB audio interface, compatible with all major DAWs on both PC and Mac platforms. The unit features a speaker mute switch for headphone monitoring. Connectivity Rounding out the feature set is a Line In, Line Out and a Headphone Out for silent practice.

  11. That makes me wonder why they don’t do this as standard. It’s such an easy mod and would add huge benefits. I mean what’s the point of 2 pups without being able to blend them? I know the Jag has many tonal options, the parallel / series switching is great, but being able to roll off one pup a touch is so obvious. To me anyway. I’m off to the parts cupboard to see what’s there!
  12. Stacked pot for independent volume and maybe independent tone sounds interesting. I think that would be a huge beneficial change. I’ll get under the hood and see if I can figure out what to do. If not, I’ll be back.
  13. I just got myself another CIJ Jaguar as I do love the look and feel of them. However after I got it I remembered why they get on my nerves.... I wondered if anyone has ever added a blend pot to enable even just a subtle roll off of one or other pickup? Or maybe changed the control plate to VVT? The current controls are bridge pup on / off, neck on / off or both on / off. The control plate is Volume, Tone. My real question is whether this is feasible with the current set up.... And also I was thinking of swapping out the preamp for something that offers boost or cut rather than the on board cut only offering. Just wondering.......
  14. On eBay, a cheap £395 buy it now for a 94 CIJ Aerodyne Jazz if you can get to Tredegar. I can’t otherwise I’d grab it... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F223475438450
  15. It’s mine, all mine...... Thanks Martin and sorry for the delay. Looking forward to resuming my love affair with Eden bass amplification.
  16. I asked for a serial number on this but the seller came back and said it’s an Indonesian made bass.
  17. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153368136437 Here’s an interesting hybrid of maybe an 80s jazz bass special body with a newer aerodyne jazz neck but I’m not sure on the body. The seller says the body has PJ55 stamped in the neck pocket but isn’t that the model for a Tokai?
  18. SOLD. Up for sale is my 2004 / 05 Non Export Made In Japan Aerodyne Jazz bass. Trades just added. May take a cheap Mex Jazz or Precision in exchange with cash my way. Reduced to £550 including insured UK postage but only with a gig bag. Grab a bargain. The non export version is rather rare and differs from the normal export Aerodynes in that it has a pick guard and has chrome hardware instead of smoked. Some say that it is exclusive to Japan because it is so good that Fender USA didn't want them exporting. This one is no exception and plays brilliantly and sounds fantastic with the combination of P and J pickups giving it plenty of bottom end thump with added snap from the jazz pickup. It's in great condition and benefits from a full professional set up including fret level, crown and polish, fretboard treatment with lemon oil and relief, action and intonation set up plus new strings. It’s a 34” scale, has a jazz width neck of 1.5” at the nut and weighs a very lightweight 7.5 lbs. It has a few age related dings mainly on the bottom edge. Those have been filled with black paint so are not visible until close up. The bass comes with a decent Fender padded gig bag. I'm based in Chester so it can be tried, collected, I can meet up or deliver within reasonable distance and of course will post anywhere.
  19. I’ve just checked again and found that the year is between 1997 and 2000. I was quoting it as a 93 bass but O serial numbers which are Made in Japan are 93 as opposed to Crafted in Japan which are made between 97 and 2000. Sorry for misinformation.......
  20. I’ve just checked again and it’s a 93, not a 99 bass. My mistake deciphering the CIJ serial numbers.
