  1. Set of 4 Wilkinson black open gear tuners. Look like new to me. Importantly they don’t include the bushings. Will update with hole centres / dimensions. Taken off a Fender P so will defo suit Fender jazz or precision. £10 plus postage. Bargain price coz I haven’t got the bushings.
  2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  3. I noticed that the same seller has a few basses for sale and has mistakenly advertised a few different basses as Aerodynes - I guess he copied a prior ad but forgot the description. Anyway about that whip-round......
  4. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F383238674655 Never seen a Japanese Jazz JB62 Reissue in this colour, aqua burst they call it. It’s pricey but it’s also really nice......... It’s my birthday in 10 days.....I wonder......
  5. Up for sale or trade for a Fender P or J USA bass is my 2011 Limited Edition Gibson Nighthawk guitar in Chicago blue with gold hardware. It comes with the Gibson case and is good in really shape. It’s a great playing guitar and even better sounding given the myriad tonal options from the 3 pickups and 5 way selector / push / pull pot. The Nighthawk Standard was a limited edition with a quilted maple cap over a chambered poplar body. Allegedly only one hundred of each color were made so apparently this is one of 100 Chicago blue Nighthawks made. The Nighthawk came with gold hardware, a granadillo fretboard, a fixed bridge, and three pickups (a splittable BurstBucker 1, a Gold Blade single coil and a splittable BurstBucker 2). The five-way selector switch plus the coil-splitting option by the push / pull volume pot provide a total of nine pickup combinations. It master volume / tone controls too. It has some surface dents on the front and a few chips here and there but nothing major. The good hardware does show the typical signs of wear. Am in Chester but can ship it anywhere or can deliver or meet up within 60 miles of Chester. Thanks for looking.
  6. I’ve been mulling this over for ages now but as I’ve now retired from gigging I’m going to free up some space, win some brownie points and free up some cash for a desktop amp of some variety. So up for sale (or possible trade for something with 4 strings) is my Trace Elliot Twin Valve combo with a rather under estimated ”Trace Elliot” 115 watts RMS with a GP7 graphic Eq and 1 x 15 speaker combo. It dates from the late 80s / early 90s and is in really good condition. It also benefits from a recent re-valve and service by Tech to the stars Dave Lunt who replaced the old valves with a really expensive matched pair (GEC equivalents if I remember but I’ll have to check the make. The valves alone were in his stock - and he has some stock - and he let me have them for £175 which was way way under valued). I have the receipt from Dave’s service. I’ll also include the old valves (wherever they are) although one of them is a little rattly which is why they were replaced. I’ve had the combo for about 2 years and had the intention of returning to gigging but I’ve accepted that it’s not going to happen. If I was going to gig, I’d use this as the sound is stunning. The watts of 115 are Trace Elliot watts and are valve watts so it comfortably rattles the windows. It also runs at 8 ohms standard but can run at 4 ohms so you could add a 2 x 10 for a truly trouser flapping rig. I’d love to keep it but it’s wasted in my office. Needless to say it’s not been gigged by me and judging on overall condition I’d say it hasn’t been gigged a lot. It’s got the original speaker which still sounds perfect. I had previously been an Eden stalwart but always felt that there was some depth and resonance missing despite their amps being so lively and wonderfully hi-fi. When I got this Trace I realised that this has the resonance and depth that I was missing. Maybe it’s that valve sound or maybe it’s classic Trace engineering but either way it really is a fantastic sound. Anyway, I’m in Chester and will drive up to 75 miles to deliver, swap or trade. Trade wise I’d consider any Fender 4 string. I could even add a little cash for a USA Fender. I’d prefer not to courier as it’s valvey but may courier it within the UK. It will be very pricey though as it would be insured. Dimensions are a compact 33cm x 48cm x 65cm. The weight belies the compact cab at 30+ kg. Here’s a summary of the features. Features: Front: Active / passive inputs. Input gain dial & overload indicator, pre-shape EQ button, an in/out button for the graphic EQ and the 7 band Eq faders. Jack sockets on the right are FX loop send / return, Line in / out and a head-phone socket. Lastly are master volume and standby switch on the far right of the panel (speaker on/ off switch). Rear: Rocker switch for 4 or 8 ohm load with two outputs - XLR and 1/4” jack. On / off switch. Thanks for looking.
  7. I’ve just restrung it with 9’s and it plays like a dream. Such low action and so playable. I’m staggered that it’s not gone and if nobody buys it or offers up a trade (which would be preferable as I have no basses) then I think I’ll withdraw it and keep it...... I guess the market is slow.
  8. Price dropped to £595. Definitely open to trades too as I could do with a bass.....
  9. Price drop. Taken in a trade but not my thing is this 2018 Gibson USA Les Paul Tribute in honeyburst finish with Gibson deluxe gig bag. Trades considered for any 4 string bass. Or - this is a wild stab especially on a bassists forum - a semi acoustic ES335 type guitar. It’s in really good condition and has had a full set up with fret level, crown and polish, relief, action and intonation set and set up with a new set of D’Addario 9’s. It plays beautifully and sounds just like a Les Paul should. These retail at £999 and are a satin finished, stripped back version of this classic guitar. It has some minor dings on the bottom edge but is in otherwise excellent condition. Can deliver or meet up within 50 miles of Chester. Thanks for looking. Here are the specs; Specifications Body Material: Mahogany Top: Maple Weight Relief: Ultra-Modern Neck Neck: Maple Profile: Rounded Nut width: 1.695" / 43.05mm Fingerboard: Rosewood Scale length: 24.75" / 628.65mm Number of frets: 22 Nut: Graph Tech Inlay: Acrylic Trapezoids Hardware Bridge: Aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic Tailpiece: Aluminum Stop Bar Knobs: Gold Top Hats Tuners: Vintage Deluxe w/ Keystone Buttons Plating: Nickel Electronics Neck pickup: 490R Bridge pickup: 490T Controls: 2 Volumes, 2 Tones & Toggle Switch
  10. SOLD. You’ve got to be quick with a Geddy..... Up for sale is my 2006/08 Crafted in Japan Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass in black with black pickguard. It plays really well, sports a new set of Ernie Ball rounds and has had a recent full set up with fret level, re-crown and polish, relief, action and intonation set so it plays brilliantly. As everyone should know these have the skinniest and playable jazz neck and with the gloss on the back of the neck having been knocked back slightly it is so smooth to play. It also has a badass II bridge, a decent hard case and strap locks. It’s in really good condition with just one ding near the upper strap pin. There’s a tiny bit of buckle rash on the back but very minor. Based in Cheshire so can deliver or meet up within 50 mile radius or will post. Thanks for looking. 11. Up for sale is this Hipshot kickass 4 string bridge bought from the forum and in perfect condition. Comes in the original box with mounting screws, brass saddles (one spare supplied), Allen key, instructions and 2 spare intonation screws too. Bought for one of my basses but I sold it and then stopped gigging and now have no basses at all so it’s not much use although it does look very nice whether on or off a bass!!!!
  12. Up for sale (again as eBay sale fell through before I shipped it) is my superb and almost immaculate 2003 Crafted in Japan Fender Jaguar guitar in Olympic white with matching headstock. It’s a fantastic looking, playing and sounding guitar and has had some recent refurbishment to return it to its former glory. It has a very Johnny Marr Jaguar look about it with the twin single coils and white pick guard. It has the traditional threaded bridge saddles with an added buzz stop fitted to existing holes in the tail piece to provide a greater break angle between the bridge and tail which gets rid of the normal bridge buzz without losing the Jaguar jangle. The tremolo fits snugly so doesn’t flap about either! It’s got the original pickups and pots and is a high quality guitar - as all Japanese Fenders are. The wiring is standard on it so it has rhythm / lead switch and volume / tone wheels for the rhythm circuit on the upper control plate. The lead switch enables the lower switches to be deployed which are front pickup on / off, bridge pickup on / off and mid cut. That just leaves the master volume and tone which are again for the lead circuit. All in all lots of tonal options and of course options to rewire it given the different way in which US Jaguars and the Johnny Marr signature are wired. The guitar has just been professionally refurbished with a strip back to the wood, grain fill, nitrocellulose prime and nitrocellulose Olympic white refinish including headstock face being painted to match. The decal was custom-made by guitardecals.co.uk and no decal lines are visible in the lacquer. The body really is immaculate, paint is glass smooth and it’s an outstanding guitar now. It’s also had a fret level, crown and polish, fretboard lemon oil treatment, relief set, action and intonation set so it now plays and sounds fantastic. The buzz stop keeps it in tune too as it stops the floating bridge from rocking. Being nearly 20 years old it has got some minor dings on the back of the neck and a scar on the top of the headstock.. There are also some minor rust spots on the tail piece, bridge and tremolo arm but very minor surface spots. The body is immaculate. It comes with a good solid vintage hard case which is in pretty good nick. Finally it can be delivered by insured courier or I can meet up within 50 miles of Chester. I could deliver it within 50 miles or it can be viewed / tried in Kelsall. I would prefer a straight sale but would consider a trade for any Fender with 4 strings or maybe even any 4 stringer really - depends what’s out there..... Thanks for looking.
  13. Whoever gets this will have a lovely bass. If you do choose to strip it, use a heat gun on the lower setting and the fotoflame will peel away from the wood. It literally is like a photo so peels away under heat rather than melting. Don’t go at it with high heat otherwise the wood under will get charred. Then sand flat if needed then use grain filler, sanding sealer before primer and finishing coats. Also remember to flat the sanding sealer and primer prior to top coat. The one I did didn’t have good enough wood to just stain / lacquer. I guess the wood aesthetics aren’t overly important when adding a photo of a flamed top to it!
  14. The decal application is absolute class. Fender really should adopt those techniques.....

  16. Up for sale including postage is a pickup from a USA Highway precision bass. Reads 11.17 kOhms. It’s got slightly corroded pole pieces but not too bad. I managed to insert the pictures in the middle of the text so sorry about that....... not too bad.
  17. I bought a bass off eBay and when it arrived it seemed to have a dead pickup. I checked the wiring and all seemed ok but imagine my surprise when whilst having a cursory glance the dead pickup it appeared to have been stripped of its copper! And the bass was supposed to be fully functional.... Anyway I can’t think of any use for it so am having a clear out. As it needs a rewind - or rather a wind - then it’s free to a good home. I think it’s 93mm wide but can’t remember whether it was bridge or neck.....
