  1. Someone else’s account has been hacked as yesterday’s instruments, now removed, have reappeared on a new sellers accounts in the USA. Beware. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133542286555
  2. I had an 85 Fender P recently that had the cleanest unmarked neck you could wish for with barely any fret wear. I couldn’t believe it but they do come along...... Could be almost worth a 450 mile round trip......maybe...
  3. Up for sale as surplus to requirements is a Hipshot BT1 bass extender in Nickel in original box with instructions, bushing and screws. Perfect condition. £45 plus p&p.
  4. Up for sale is a John East J Tone preamp currently living in my American Vintage jazz as it's going back to passive. The East J tone is a direct drop in replacement for your current control plate. Comes completely pre-wired with solderless connections for Pickup hot / cold and earth. It is active with full true passive bypass. It features a volume / blend stack pot, a bass / treble stack pot and a passive tone pot which is push for active and pull for passive. It's a tremendous preamp - as all John East preamps are - and works perfectly. It's just that an american vintage should be vintage i.e. passive so it's going back to its roots. Here's what John says "Is it possible to retain the original sound of a J style bass?, but with a modern Active EQ? in the same preamp, along with no changes to my bass? In response, we have created the J-TONE pre amp, replicating the authentic original passive wiring of the J style bass with a high spec Active EQ. It's designed as a direct drop-in replacement, including a place for the battery. It's easy to fit at home using basic tools, no soldering, no physical changes to the instrument*. The Passive wiring is available as either the classic Volume / Volume / Tone, or for those who prefer a master volume - Volume / Blend / Tone. Plug-in tone caps allow additional fine tuning of the passive tone control. The Active EQ is simplicity itself, incorporating highly responsive bass and treble controls, taken from our new high end UNI-PRE system. Internal edge wheels allow individual custom voicing for both the bass and treble control spectrums. Instrument qualities can be enhanced in conjunction with tone-shaping to match playing styles.
  5. Up for sale is a good condition Fender 4 string high mass bridge. Standard 5 hole fit for Jazz and Precision basses. £25 posted by
  6. Up for grabs (after I’ve decided on a major clear out) is my 2006 Markbass CMD 121 mini 1 x 12 combo. 300 watts as is or 500 watts with an extension cab this thing might be small but packs a proper wallop. It sounds great too as expected from Markbass. Comes with custom fitted cover. It's in great condition, no scratches or damage to the carpet so I'd imagine it's only had home use. Its the original Italian made version but is markedly (no pun intended) different than the newer version in that it has a ceramic driver instead of neo so weighs in at a rather sturdy 17kg. The amp also differs from the later versions as it doesn’t have the VPF (variable pre shape filter) control but does have the VLE (vintage loudspeaker emulator). To be honest though I haven’t had any trouble making loud pleasant bass noises using the gain, Low, Mid Low, Mid High, High and volume controls. It also boasts DI out, tuner out, effects loop, ground lift and balanced / normal inputs. This one has had the noisy original fan replaced with a nice low noise one too. I’ve put it at £275 as I don’t know where to pitch the value as these are quite rare and I can’t find any sold prices. Feel free to make an offer. I’d say collection only but I could meet up within 40 miles of Chester or enquire about shipping it. Thanks for looking.
  7. Up for sale is my Tech 21 Sansamp Bass Driver DI / bass preamp. Legendary stuff from Tech 21, featuring level, blend, treble, bass, drive & presence controls for some very perky tones indeed! Has input / parallel input, 1/4” out and car out. Battery or mains powered. I haven’t got the original tin, instructions nor an adaptor..... A great pedal but I just can’t help myself, I’m after a Geddy Lee YYZ pedal instead..... Thanks for looking.

  9. £275 including UK shipping. Would take a squier VM 70s in trade. Up for sale is my immaculate RMI Boomslang bass. Featuring 21 frets, arctic white paint with matching headstock, wilkinson hardware with high mass bridge and with a £190 upgrade of the pickups to Aguilar hot series (the ones with the 6mm poles). The bass is immaculate condition with not a single mark on it, is very light at 3.5kg and has has a dual action truss rod so you can really fine tune the neck relief for some very low action. It also has a very nice satin neck so not at all sticky and in fact very slick and fast. It's had new strings and a pro set up so plays and sounds great. RMI is Ramsay Musical Instruments and was founded by guitar builder Mark Ramsay. He now builds custom high end bespoke basses so it's no surprise that this jazz style bass belies its price. This one was designed, styled and set up in the UK but built in Korea. It's very very good for the price. Hard case included. Shipping is extra. Only up for sale as I just got a CIJ Geddy Lee jazz. Thanks for looking. Pics to follow.
  10. Up for sale is a badass II bridge in chrome with slotted saddles. It’s got some surface corrosion which won’t polish out but is in good used condition. I think £65 is fair but I guess I’ll soon find out! Thanks for looking
  11. Well I may as well add my joy to this thread. 2005 limited edition blue boy 4003.....and it’s gorgeous....
  12. I’d rather not as I’ll get in big trouble. I’ve just bought a blue boy rickenbacker so need to make some room (and win back some points with Mrs O).
  13. Up for sale is my 1995 Crafted in Japan Fender Jazz 1962 Reissue in Olympic white with matching headstock. It looks amazing and plays great. Everything is working perfectly, truss rod turns freely, pickups, bridge and electrics are original. This was originally a fotoflame finish but, as is their way, the finish cracked badly so it’s been stripped back and professionally refinished in nitrocellulose Olympic white. The headstock has been finished in matching white and the decal, although replaced, has no visible outline. It’s had a full set up too with fret level, crown and polish, lemon oil treatment, relief, intonation and action set so it plays very well. It’s had an after market 4 ply 62 tort reissue pickguard and some new rotosound rounds fitted too. So it’s 25 years old, a Japanese crafted 62 reissue and it plays and looks new! I have a case and if this sells before my Yamaha then it comes in a very good semi rigid foam case. If the Yamaha goes first then it has comes in a decent gig bag. I’d take a part trade where cash is my way. If there was a Squier vintage mod or classic vibe 70s jazz out there then that would be perfect. Thanks for looking. Better photos on their way tomorrow.
  14. This used to be mine and it is utterly immaculate. It’s got no dings or dents and truly belies its age. I’d class it as the best condition bass I’ve ever owned barring new basses.
  15. How about this little beauty I’ve just finished renovating. It’s an 85 USA P re-finished in Olympic white and finished off with an anodised pickguard.
