Up for sale is my near immaculate Mark 1 1990s Made in Japan Yamaha TRB4 Jazz Bass 4 string with a one piece ash body in a stained open grain natural finish with a new gotoh high mass bridge and upgraded brand new John East uni pre 5 pot 3 band active/ passive preamp. Controls are volume, balance, bass / treble, Mid / mid frequency select and passive tone. The passive tone works in both active and passive mode so this has huge tonal versatility. It has 24 frets, double cut away, sculpted body and gold hardware. The neck finish is satin so no stickiness here! The condition is amazing for a 25 year old bass and these are incredible basses. These are pretty rare and particularly so in a natural finish. It has gold hardware which, unusually, is unmarked, high mass gold gotoh bridge and benefits from a recent set up with minor fret level, fret crown, fret polish and rosewood board oil treatment. Relief, action and intonation were set and it plays and sounds amazing. It’s got a new set of rotosound 45-105 round wounds on. Based in Chester but can only ship now due to social distancing. Seymour Duncan STC 2p active preamp in brand new condition. Comes in original box with pots, knobs, instructions etc. Its a 3 pot set up; volume with push / pull slap contour, pickup blend and stacked bass / treble. Has black knobs with it, all fitting instructions and a barrel jack. Bought for a project that didn’t happen.

Brand new black badass III string through bridge with grooved and normal saddles in original packaging. Imported recently but didn’t arrive before I sold the bass it was going on. School boy error but I don’t need it now.

Marcus Miller Sire V3 2nd Generation 4 String Jazz Bass in gloss black with Rosewood fretboard in mint condition with spare tort pickguard and upgraded Fender high mass bridge. With a Indonesian mahogany body, Canadian hard maple neck, gloss black finish, rosewood fretboard with rolled edges, 20 frets, Marcus Miller J revolution pickups, Marcus Miller heritage 3 band active preamp with active bypass and with an upgraded bridge this really is an outstanding bass for the money. It plays better than many Mex and some USA Fenders I’ve played. The preamp is really intuitive and the controls are volume / tone, blend, treble, mid / mid frequency and bass. It’s also got active bypass with passive tone control so really has as many tonal options that you could wish for. It’s in mint condition and comes with a decent stagg gig bag. Collection from Kelsall near Chester or will post insured with UPS.

Dropped to £15. Can’t find a make on this pickup but it’s a 51 style P bass single coil 8.12k ohm pup with big 1/4” pole pieces that came off a project bass. Did sound fat and thumpy just as it should when installed. Don’t think it’s Seymour Duncan so could be custom. Measurements on the last pic. Thanks for looking.

Up for grabs is an unusual custom made single ply cream pickguard for Fender Precision basses but with reverse pickup rout and 4 holes. Came off a USA 80s Fender Precision Bass so neck cutout is standard. The rest of the pickguard is standard size / shape and it’s 13 holes. £10 plus postage.

Up for sale is my wonderful Atelier Z Beta 4 taken in a trade on here but as I’m not gigging I don’t consider myself worthy of keeping it. I’ll stick with something cheaper for now. It is in fantastic condition with one nick on the headstock. It comes with a heavily padded Atelier gig bag which unfortunately has a bust zip. Atelier basses are boutique basses, made in small numbers in Japan and they reputedly challenge Sadowsky basses. It’s a wonderful bass and it urges you to keep playing it - it’s just one of those basses. The 24 fret maple neck is satin finished and is so smooth. It features block inlays with Luminlay side dots, stainless steel frets and Gotoh tuners. The Ash body is scaled down with an extended cutaway allowing access to no man’s land. It’s really light at around 3.6kg. The controls are Volume, Volume, Tone with a series/parallel switch to fatten up the sound when required. It has the latest Atelier Z pickups with staggered pole pieces and has a custom Atelier buffer preamp on board to prevent unwanted noise. It’s also been upgraded with a 3 way adjustable Hipshot kickass bridge - a brilliant bridge which I prefer over badass bridges these days. No trades on this unless there’s a cheap P bass out there somewhere. Based in Chester but can meet up or deliver within 50 miles. I’ll also ship it anywhere insured with UPS. Thanks for looking.

You’re right - it’s a beauty but I just don’t get on with soap bar / humbucker pickups.

SOLD WAY TOO CHEAP BUT THATS LIFE. Dropped to £495 for a hand crafted bass. Less than a Mex Fender. I can’t believe it hasn’t been taken. It has a lightweight natural alder body with a cedar cap, 24 fret maple neck with cedar inlays, twin custom wound soap bar pickups, a 2 band Bartolini preamp configured push / pull volume with active bypass, blend, bass and treble. It has black hardware and features recessed control knobs. It weighs a very lightweight 3.6kg, the neck is 38mm width at the nut, 54mm width at fret 12 and 63mm at 24. It’s quite shallow at 22mm at the 1st and 25mm at the 12th fret. It has a silky smooth, very playable maple neck and looks really unusual with its cedar inlays. It also benefits from a recent full set up including fret level, crown and polish, relief, action and intonation set up and new rotosound strings on. It play and sounds superb and also looks the part as it’s a pretty unique bass. I’ll ship it anywhere insured with UPS. Uk should be around £28. Europe should be around £40. Can also deliver or meet up within 50 miles of Chester. . Trades possible......

Back up for sale as trade fell through is my immaculate Chowny fretless. Dropped to £595 including delivery. Will trade or part trade up or down for anything with frets - preferably P or J. Also would consider trading for an all valve head. Up for sale or trade is this immaculate unmarked custom ordered Chowny SWB Pro short scale unlined fretless. Finished in a spectacular purple burst over a quilt maple top, it has EMG pickups with 2 band EMG preamp, a rather nice ebony fretboard, Wilkinson tuners and a fitted gator foam case. It’s unmarked and immaculate, obviously plays great (and it has no fret buzz coz it’s got none)! I took it in a trade on here but it’s just not up my street really. I always like the thought of a fretless but then realise they’re just not my thing. It’s a doddle to play though as it’s short scale and the position markers on the neck edge are on the fret rather than in between so again that makes it easy to hit accurate notes. This model retails at £850 but in this colour is currently on a 8-10 week backlog. Vital stats are; 38.5mm at the nut and 4.2kg on the scales. Will ship insured with UPS anywhere.
