  1. Couldn't kiss have just lent him their backing tapes and taught him to lip sync, then they wouldn't have had problems! still, maybe they could get motley crue in instead, or maybe even Docken
  2. That's the only place a cap should be. Although you see it on the pot, it is effectively across the output, which is where it needs to be. if you had a j or pj bass (or even p ultra) with another pickup this would be the correct wiring. It's unusual it's this way, but not necessarily wrong.
  3. So yes, this is traditional P wiring, yours is wired like a jazz, so the output of the pickup goes to the centre and the output of that goes to the jack.
  4. The wiring looks fine - what is the issue. There is a white and black from the pickup, and another black from the metal frame (or something earthy) and there is another black from the bridge. All the blacks go to the earth of the pots and the bottom of the volume tone, the pickup hot goes to the pot centre, the output goes to the cap to the tone and to the jack. Its actually the way you would traditionally wire a jazz (or any two pickup instrument) than a P, but its not wrong as such, on a p you would generaly swap the centre and hot of the pot around. Is there a problem with it?
  5. Sadly, I never did join the group I learned that for!
  6. Just looking at the track listing, no.
  7. I had to learn that one for an audition, there is a thread on here about the correct fill! Oh yes, here:
  8. Thats the thing with the early lessons, there is a lot of fundamentals, including sections on just listening
  9. I thought i might work out how to play "Aint Nobody" on the stick. Might be a while.
  10. I have a lot of rechargeables*, not only the gigging stuff but also I have outdoor wildlife cameras. Over the last month I tested all the batteries I had as I had suspicions on some of them. Doing that I threw away 2 silver duracells (very old), 4 energizers, 1 ikea, and a couple of lidl batteries, again old. I marked the batteries as to how much charge they had. Anything below 1400 I threw away, 14-1800 marked with brown for internal house things, 18-22 marked with blue, and the 22+ marked with red. most of them are red. The ones that have surprised me the most are the coloured batteries I bought from lidl, for £5 for 4. I have quite a few of those. as I said I threw 2 away, I have 14 left I think, they are all red. The 3 ikea batteries that are remaining are higher than specified (they say 2480 and two are over 26). My new duracels are all good but I got them a few weeks ago when I threw a lot out. The duracels and the lidls (and ikeas) work a week in the trail camera. * Just counted 56 AAs, 12 AAAs, but there are probably some I am missing in gigging stuff.
  11. I like the duracells. IKEAs are quite powerful but had a duff one in the last batch, so I probably wouldn't get them again.
  12. I have fender long scale flats on my squier mustang, and they work fine.
  13. I use an X18 for all our IEMs, although only 3 of us use them, and all mono so no issues
  14. ok, put them on the EHB last night (really nice to do the strings on that) so see how they last. Not the stainless ones, that bass is bright enough on its own.
  15. I am sure if you had asked he would have given you one too?
  16. I got it from here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154468393553 The guy didn't have great feedback but it was the only 14V 3Amp one I could find, other than Dell power supplies, so under a tenner. And if you have trouble eBay refund you. But I didn't have any trouble and it turned up when it said it would, and it works fine. Lead is shorter than the original, but not an issue for me.
  17. OK, now it is there. Maybe because I bumped it yesterday? Although I can see older stuff that is unbumped. Oh well, one of those things then, its working now, so it doesnt' matter!
  18. Problems sorted! Still a shame you have to buy something else for something this price, but at least I have reliable power now.
  19. It was tongue in cheek. No, I like the cure, or their old albums, I have seen them several times and some of their music is very significant to me, but I also believe there is a time for everything. But whether they carry on I guess as always is up to them, its their career.
  20. The cure are still going?? Wow.
  21. I have one (for sale now) and it was quite good, probably a bit superfluous for me as I am using amps live and Helix Native for recording.
  22. TC Electronics Spectradrive. Good condition, barely used - turned out it was not really what I needed. Boxed with power supply. Can pickup from yeovil or there about, can ship for a fiver.
  23. Future impact?
  24. How about I reduce it to £550? Still local pickup up only or delivery / meeting within a 50 mile or so circle of Yeovil, so Bristol, Exeter, Poole, Salisbury etc.
