1. Got any pics of the pedalboard so that I can see the condition?
Pedaltrain 2 w/Hard case. This is in fairly good condition, it's got velcro on too. This is the older version without PP2 bracket. £110 shipped. Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter with the EP2 Expression pedal - Great condition, never gigged. Comes with box and possibly the manual, I'd have to have a look for it. Higgie has first dibs on this as I know he wanted it so I'll wait to get a reply from him and report back! £150 shipped.
2. Would have to agree with you there WalMan.
or did he just think he'd been sussed and get cold feet? I've become such a cynic in my old age
3. Bump - Anyone, Bueller, Anyone??
 4. I purchased this on iTunes the other day and think that it could be quite handy but have not had much time to play with it yet. I am initially struggling to understand how I can use it record 2 or different bass parts over a drum track. If anyone knows this app and uses it then some advice for an absolute home recording novice would be greatly appreciated!
 5. + 1 to that. My set of Elixir's has been on for ages now and they still sound fantastic. The coating has come off a bit by the bridge where I play but it does not feel weird or effect the tone at all so I just carry on regardless!
Aye, Ive been using Elixers forever now so these do interest me. But having said thath im in the same boat as Ped, Been using my elixirs nearly a year and they sound new... And i really do dig in.
6. Does anyone know much about Gigbaby on the iphone - seems to be a very cheap 4 track recorder to me?
I'm looking for a cheap recorder to record rehearsals, etc... Atm the Zoom H2 is on my top list, however I'm a bit concerned about the quality...we are a loud band and play through a 4.5k PA, quite a big room too. I know, we can always turn down, still ,the room accoustics is pretty 'live'. We previously recorded a couple of songs with our former vocalist using his Fostex LR16, bass, drum triggers and mics via DI, and drums overheads and for guitar - all straight into the desk. Although the process is much lenghtier, the sound quality was pretty good. Is it worth buying a cheap portable recorder or should I invest on a multitrack instead? (any cheap multitrack options?) Another question, can the Zoom H2 be connected directly to the mixing desk?...that way we could go through the desk and record anyone?
7. Ha ha - too true my friend. Just shifted on my 5 string due to lack of use.
And I still miss her, she was almost as cute as "The Angel" but had the correct amount of strings!
8. Last reminder for any Cheltenham/Gloucester based Basschatters looking for some funk on a Friday night!!
 9. I know the feeling - PsychoAndy sold his Spitfire on here recently and I really, really wanted it but just could not find the funds. Still kicking myself now!!
Thats ok........ I have to say i pestered Benie for quite a while about selling me this bass and he just wouldnt let it go, so i really missed out.
10. Sorry - I thought Russ said he does not post on here!
who doesn't know what they are missing?? I missed out on the angel bass i have to say....About the only bass i have played in my long playing life that was, perfect in an instant and in all aspects, but unfortunately not for sale last year....
11. Obviously does not know what he is missing!
He does post on here (ropeman23). Check back through the thread.
12. People Tree is a great album - check out the bass lick in Jessie. Really sweet.
mother earth - the people tree album is fantastic, esp. mr freedom. i also like anything by galliano.
13. Tribes, Vibes & Scribes 100 degrees and rising Positivity Inside Life Jazz Funk Those would be my favourites - Randy Hope-Taylor on TV&S is simply awesome!
LOVING Incognito at the moment. Just been on Amazon and seen a few DVDs including a new one due out soon live from London, but I was just wondering what do people think are the better Incognito albums? there seem to be so many and just wondering where to start. Cheers, Nathan
14. +1!! Although I would not have given a donation - miserable old sod that I am!!!
any one else feel like a mug for believing it. i know i did.
15. Certainly something you need in this game! I have to be honest and say that I really hate dealing with people that run bars and clubs they seem to be so bloody difficult and you can never trust them any further then you could throw them and that comes from somebody who works in advertising too! Worrying news ref the PA but makes sense - there was a track from a band that I found on the net recorded live at the Front Rooms and I thought the sound was bloody awful! Really wish we had our own sound engineer now. Do you know what PA they have there? Mark
Hi Mark, You get 100% for perseverance! I'm told the sound engineers aren't up to much, apparently it's the guys who run the disco. Still, at least they have a decent PA. May see you there. Cheers Martin
16. So what happened? I am confused!
1. Thank you. 2. Thank you. 3. Thank you. 4. Brilliant! (hell's bell's was that film really 1975?) 5. Very special thank you. Now partaking.
17. I'd agree with that - "Music of The Wind" is an absolute classic.
Some great lines but I much prefer Jamiroquai's first 3 albums to TOP.
18. Hi Martin, I personally have not been in there yet but I hear good things from people about it and the set up. Would agree that it is probably the hardest gig that I have ever had to book because they are never there and also never reply to messages!! Would be great to see you down there is you can make it. Mark
great venue, we've been trying to get in there but the guys who handle the booking never seem to be in! hope the gig goes well for you, might try to get there with a few of the band, Cheers Martin
19. Playing at The Front Rooms this coming Friday with my band Zang Tang: www.myspace.com/zangtangband www.zangtang.com Would be great to see any fellow basschatters down there! I know there are a few in and around Cheltenham and Gloucester!
 20. Yeah JTQ changed their name to New Jersey Kings just for the US market - not sure why? I remember when I was in the states in 1996 and picked up a copy of Party To The Bus Stop and thought I had found an excellent acid jazz type band to get into. I was therefore not surprised to be told that it was actually JTQ!! Mind you that was in the days when they were good and didn't pump out the sh*t like they do now! In answer to the opening thread have you checked out Lettuce or The Haggis Horns? Both have some great grooves going on. My current project Zang Tang has had the age old "sounds a bit like Jamiroquai" thrown at it! No I don't dispute that Zender was a big influence on me! Anyway go to www.myspace.com/zangtangband and have a listen I would say that the tracks Daylights and House of Zang have that kind of feel about them.
The "New Jersey Kings" is JTQ. That 'Party To The Bus Stop' album was great though. As for Galliano, all of their albums are very different, give them a preview first.
21. Have to say I don't find the colour that offensive either but do definitely prefer sunburst or natural.
I think I may have tried this like 4 or 5 years ago at the london shop. There can't be THAT many mocha brown 70's jazzes in Denmark street. I actually really like the colour......what's the damage on the back?....just a sticker and some paint gone?? Si
22. Hi Steve, Fantastic playing - love your sound and the vibe. Right up my street! Mark
Hi all, I've put together an edited version of some rehearsal sessions for a band I was in a couple of years ago if you'd like to have a listen to some of my playing. It's a bit of a long example but stick with it if you can be bothered! I used a Moon jazz bass with Sadowsky onboard preamp for this band. Sadly I no longer own that bass. The recording features my good friend and great player Andy Edwards on drums. Hope you like it! Steve
23. I did think that as they are in Denmark Road in London!
ur link is to a Musicground auction? Mind u, they're well dodgy!
24. Just received an e-mail about this jazz bass on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...3#ht_1911wt_941 Not sure if it is genuine or not - what do all you Fender experts think? Mark
 25. I have bought from them online and found them to be well priced and very quick with delivery. They were also pretty helpful with advice on which pedal I should go for!
just wanted to say that we made it to the shop today, and found Richard to be a great person to deal with. the shop is well worth checking out. the pedal lines he carries at the moment are well worth the trip, let alone those soon to be arriving! I'll certainly be heading out there again before too long - once the coffers are refilled a bit!
