1.
Pictures please! Thanks
Hey Sephalda, I'm going to post some pics for Mark He's not kidding either, this bass is one of the CS top shelf ones. I compared this to 2 other good CS Jazzes recently and this was my personal favourite, such good tone. Ankther thing I love about these Journeyman basses is the relic type neck with closet classic type finish, great combo.
 2. This pickup came with my 2015 Mike Lull PJ4 and was used for about a year. I've since replaced it for a Nordstrand Big Single as I prefer the high end response of the single. The Dual Coil is a great sounding pickup up, but just not what I need in that bass. Bartolini BC size - 101mm x 32.3mm This is the Series version, you can read below about the pickup and the difference between the Series and Parallel versions. Price includes UK postage and 3 black pickup screws. Nordstrand Dual Coil This is a modern design dual coil humbucking pickup. Pickups like these are usually found on very high end basses. They use Alnico V magnets and the traditional bi-pole layout with two poles per string. It's almost like two Jazz Bass® style pickups in one cover. These pickups are available in two different versions. One set is designed to be wired in parallel, and the other in series. The reason we do this is that a pickup that is made to sound good wired parallel will usually be too hot and dark sounding if wires in series. So, we put less wire on a series dual coil than a parallel dual coil. In general, a pickup wired in series will have a fuller and fatter midrange with a subdued high end than a pickup wired in parallel, which will typically have more highs and a deeper low end with a cleaner midrange. Series pickups also have more output than parallel pickups. Parallel pickups are generally a better choice for a split-able installation, as there will not be the gain loss associated with series pickups. These pickups are available only in black plastic covers with exposed pole pieces. These are a direct replacement for Bartolini BC, P2, P4 soapbar size pickups, and are also available for EMG 35/40/45 sized pickups. (S for series P for Parallel)
 3.
And.......who knows I may sell the 64....
I hear you mate and like you said earlier 'pocketing a few quid' is what made me sell off my pre CBS basses over the years. Your new one looks lovely and will do the job just as well.
 4.
Someone needs to buy this sharpish! Hmm... do I need a sunburst to go with my fiesta red..?
Yes you do. You know it makes sense.
 5. Posting this as there is a Road Worn love in happening on BC £650 ono in Greenwich https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/fender-road-worn-50-s-precision-bass/1178372013
 6.
hi guy's, could you help me ? i've bought one, but i think the shop gave me a wrong gigbag, when i call them, they said, nonono thats the good gigbag... so could you post a pic of your flea sign with the gigbag ? Cheers
Pictured on page 5 of this thread
 7.
Would you say the Stingray is more versatile?
From my POV the Stingrsy HH is far more versatile. But like I said, I only clicked with the neck pickup on the Thumb, even though the bridge pickup and combined pickups have a great tone of their own
 8. I've very recently switched from a 1989 Thumb 5 NT to a 2014 Stingray 5 HH. Both of mine are great quality with good B strings. I liked the Thumb a lot and only sold it due to the body being too small for me. Though I was genuinely gutted to let it go, it just so happens that the Stingray is a way better option all round for my tastes as it's more comfortable to play (both neck and body) and the tone variations are very useful. I get to use 3 out of 5 of the pickup selections regularly and the other 2 every now and again. With the Thumb, I only ever got on with the neck pickup. Of course, this is all down to taste but as you were asking...
 9.
Would anyone be willing to post a rough guide price of value with and without a refret? So frets that are original but not 100% versus a refretted to original spec one? This could be a big ask!?
It's not really possible to answer that as the market prices are not set or consistent. IMO, a refret would affect the desirability of the bass (for some people) more than the price. I know a fair few guys who buy vintage and don't care about frets, they just see them as a wear and tear part. Other guys are precious about it. It's all down to personal opinion and that makes pricing harder too.
 10. This is my second dealing with Lasse, the first was back in 2011 from an eBay listing and then recently he bought a MXR pedal from me. Each time he's been a perfect gentleman and a pleasure to deal with.
 11. I must be double crazy then, I bought a 2015 US Fender Jazz from a local shop, even though I could of got one at trade price. Why? Well I wasn't out to buy it, but the one I took home felt very special to me when I tried it after deciding to go Jazz again. The highlight there being 'to me'. I don't give a toss what people think subjectivity, it's ultimately worthless unless you don't have self determination. But my subjective, which is what matters to me, is that I have owned original 50's, 60's, 70's to modern day ones including many Custom Shop and bespoke such a Lull, and the Jazz I bought certainly got my blood pumping and credit card out. In my youth I never liked getting new basses, especially as 2nd hand is cheaper. In my late 30's and have a new found buzz about being the first owner. I've tried the various cheaper ones, and they deserve the praise. As of yet, none spoke to me so I'm very happily crazy.
 12.
This doesn't really do overdrive, does it?
No, not this one
 13. Transparent preamp that retains the character of your bass, but gives great tone shaping and boost. Can also be used as a DI. I used this with my Mike Lull P Bass as my Tonehammer and JHS Colour Box take the natural tone of the bass away, which is sometimes perfect and sometimes not. Now that I have a Jazz Bass I no longer use the P Bass in the way that I did so the pedal isn't being used. No doubt I'll buy another next year though, always the way Excellent condition, with box etc. Price includes shipping. No trades please, need the cash which is why I'm selling it.
 14.
Ha ha, well Dan there's a few things mitigating against that. Firstly it's a Jazz Bass, never been my favourite. Second I haven't got any money. Third hey appear to have sold out everywhere even Thomann. Fourth I've already got a Flea signature bass. But yes, I'd bloody love one Very odd that they are available to Europe before the US, with virtually no prior advertising and/or marketing, and in such apparently small numbers? You know Fender well, any thoughts?
The power of GAS eh? I'm not sure why fender would do it to be honest, maybe they didn't count on Basschat making them sell out so quickly?
 15. I'd go with 1980, pots are 35th week of 1980 and the pick up is 1980.
 16.
I get the feeling this bass is going to be one of those that we all wished we'd bought when we had the chance

Post in this TB thread https://www.talkbass.com/threads/leaked-fender-flea-jazz-bass-replica.1230133/page-2 suggests Europe only at present?
You're on it mate, are you getting warmed up for a purchase?
 17.
I knew it was a mistake putting that photo up. Calling Daniel....
Er....not....a.....clue.... Looked like a C to me at first, but then that's the first time I've seen one cut out like that so now I'm unsure! The stack knobs are often U, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if this was C as it's more common and they already make them. The fact that there are different C and U profiles out there doesn't help at all.
 18.
Yeah man as soon as it arrives! Sold out now so just in time. I've a black and a pink sparkle signature Flea so this will be a nice companion!
I have a purple sparkle Modulus myself and thought that'd look cool with the Jazz, but the two pinks you have will make a great set. Look forward to seeing that when you get it
 19.
You guys!! I've looked for days debating and Guitar Guitar now have 1 less 😉 Can't wait to get it, will sit nicely with my 2 Modulus Fleas 👍
That comment absolutely must have a picture to follow asap!
 20. I just sold a bass to a really nice guy, he made what was a reluctant sale for me a pleasure and very easy. Hope you enjoy it
 21.
Kinda hoping everyone's gonna say 'crap, sending it back in Monday' but also suspect, given Fender's recent track record, it may be a real gem. Really hope it's the latter
I hear you, right you are. Luckily I already have a Jazz, so you're screwed mate
 22.
With you there Dan
I believed you until you said....
Anyone going to tell us how it plays and sounds?
Now I reckon you might buckle
 23.
Yes, according to the splendid Danny at the equally splendid Kenny's Music (brilliant service!!!) this thread has contributed.
So with Kenny's, Andertons and GuitarGuitar (if they sell out) that's 9 sold this weekend. Amazing.
 24.
Hey I'm in Cricklewood and would be interested in coming to have a look at some point if that's cool?
PM'd
