  1. I can't decide whether I ever liked this or not, but the damn thing wouldn't leave my head when I was a wee laddie...
  2. A local multi-instrumentalist guy I'd never met (but should have done, as we were in the same social circles) put up a post on the local FB musician finder page that he was looking to get back into playing drums, and does anyone fancy a jam? I replied yes, we had a great jam, chatted about what we were into, and who we could get into the band guitar-wise. We both came up with the same name, and that guitarist had just finished with another band and had a female singer in tow from said band. We're still together 3 years later writing our own stuff, gigging and loving it. No egos, no wanting to be a star, everybody gets input, and we all get on very well. Never thought I'd see the day....
  3. People can say what they like about Johnny Rod, but the boy gives it f*ck on stage!! Fair play!
  4. I live up 4 flights of stairs so portability became an issue. Then I discovered Barefaced cabs. Most gigs I can get away with a Super Midget, but I have a Big Twin 2 for larger venues and festivals. I'd love an Ampeg valve head but the weight is too prohibitive, and TBH my Genz Benz Streamliner 900 has more than enough welly.
  5. Not carrots. Be warned! 😖 Love from Cornwall (where men are men, and sheep are nervous!)
  6. Can't say I've heard of him, but I'm having a listen now.... there's some great playing and some crazy shizzle going on here.... I think I like it!!
  7. Get back in there , squire! There's nowt wrong with honing yer chops on your own, but it's great to find like-minded people to jam with. Jam on and take it from there... get yourself out seeing local live bands and see if there is a central place(s) or scene where you can hang out and get to know other musos... see who is up for a jam or a side project. Good luck!!
  8. Yes I'm hopelessly in love with Floor Jansen too! 😍 Gerroff her, you heathen!! 🤬
  9. Hey Victor... how about playing some prog metal? Uhh.... mm'kay!
  10. One of my favourite Keziah Jones songs. Great playing from Otis Williams on bass!
  11. +1 for the C4. This is next on my shopping list!
  12. Darkglass B7K Ultra bass distortion. Hell of a pedal - best distortion pedal I've encountered. Gigged once. Excellent condition, no scuffs or scratches. Boxed with manual. Sale due to band breaking up - have no further use for it with new band. £150 delivered mainland UK.
  13. Looks like you've got a good balance there. I used to play in cover bands years ago, some run of the mill, some more grungey. I got bored. For me it's the jamming and writing which makes me happy. Yes, it's enjoyable to get people up and dancing but I could run a disco and get even more up. I'm not sure I could get back into doing covers... maybe if there really was nothing else happening. Never say never. There's nowt wrong with any of it. As long as people are doing their thang and enjoying it, then all is good IMO.
  14. I guess it depends on what you want out of it. If it's money then you need to appeal to as many people as possible and thus play the cheese. If you want an element of enjoyment for yourself that is unrelated to bums on seats/feet on dancefloors, then I guess you'd play more stuff that you enjoy or maybe aim for a specific target audience or whatever.
  15. Gives some ideas about what this li'l beastie can do...
