  1. We do occasionally have requests for GG but always politely decline. We have been think of doing a Glitterband number though.
  2. Pretty much agree with you Dave; we get loads of punters turning up with tartan scarves though. We do a fair few BCR songs plus the Les Mckewan version of Have I The Right.
  3. Didn’t realise you had a ‘Glam’ side Pete 😂
  4. Firstly, apologies in advance if this has been done elsewhere. Ive always been in bands with back line, however with a degree of hearing loss I’m now finding that the volumes on stage quite often lead to pitch shift in my perception and higher volumes make this worse. So, as the band isn’t in a frame of mind to go totally back line less could someone give me guidance on what I need equipment wise and connections wise to set up an IEM for myself. The band is currently using a Dynacord Powermate 600 as the main PA with tops and active sub. The only things going through the PA are vocals (4) and Roland electronic kit. I’m not made of money so a starter set up that would give me a way of not overloading my stressed earlugs would be great. At the moment it would be just me going IEM.
  5. I’m putting it down to my hearing mate, I’ve lost a bit at the mid/hf through Menieres. It’s one of those where the louder it is the worse it gets as other ‘noise’ interferes with my perception. If it’s a venue where the sound bounces around the stage it’s a nightmare. Gonna have to look at iem this year.
  6. Due to various double bookings and what not last night was the the first gig with the glam lads since New Year’s Eve. Didn’t know what to expect as this was through an agent (we only do 1/2 a year agent gigs) and a birthday party (which we find can be a mixed bag). Well I was a bit rusty and the stage had that awful ‘swimming’ sound which made everything seem out of key to me but all in all it was a cracking gig. It also had the benefit of being at a local pub in Askern so only 30 minutes drive. The birthday boy came up for a chat at the end and said how much he’d enjoyed it, apparently he’d tried to get another Glam Rock band but they were unavailable, fortunately he wasn’t disappointed.
  7. I’ve a hankering for a nice short scale ray or 4H special in a sparkle finish…..but as gig revenue hasn’t increased since before the pandemic it will likely remain a hankering.
  8. Still enjoying it mate….it punches above its weight so to speak.
  9. Looking awesome just need to do likewise .
  10. I’d love a Starry Night one like yours mate but they are rocking horse poo. I know what you’re saying regarding the fallout but I’ve gigged with it a fair bit this last 12 months and the sounds are awesome live - up there with my ‘swiss knife’ EBMM Sterling.
  11. It's been a while since I succumbed to GAS but starting to get the hankering for a new shorty. Problem is it's a one in one out policy with swmbo and I can't decide which of my current 3 shorties would go as I use them all......first world problems eh? My hankering is for a Stingray SS; I'd love the ebmm but they aren't easy to come by and the eye watering new price is out of reach so I'd probably have to settle for the Sterling. My current 3 are a Mikey Way Mustang, JMJ Mustang and Fullerton Fallout, I'd struggle to decide which one the Stingray could replace.
  12. Can't help but think this is a 'cashing in' exercise, to me Rio will always be an Aria SB1000....
  13. I've been in 3 versions of 'Indie' over the years - my first ever band was a Joy Division tribby back in 1983.....
  14. Makes perfect sense Pete. Come and see us when you get the chance think we’ve got one in Hull and backin Withernsea in August.
  15. Trying to sort out seeing you at your last visit to Sheffield with a couple of your old acquaintances.
  16. Not the OP so apologies if incorrect. I think this model was only made briefly (as opposed to the full fat Ray sub) and was series only. My model was definitely series.
  17. That looks mint. I need to do the same to mine, I got one of the good ones and seeing as it’s fretless and has an East pre there would be no point in going for one of the new ones….the only thing I don’t like is the decal. Could you post a link for the decal?
  18. We get a fair bit of that Dave, a fair few enquiries from down south and ooop north but when we price it accordingly based on the travel and/or digs we’ve overshot the budget. Generally we’re happy with 90% of the gigs being within a 50 mile radius.
  19. Think we’ve got 24 booked in for Glam Fever for ‘24. Hoping that works up to about 40 as we get through the year; last year was 37 but we had about 7 cancelled due to illness, pub closures and what not. We seem to be doing more clubs these days as many pub venues are struggling cash wise.
  20. Despite the serious man-flu we managed to get through all the festive season gigs. XMas eve was at a nice club in Barton, a pleasant affair but a bit under populated - a trend I’ve noticed over the last couple of years….XMas eve isn’t what it used to be gig wise. Fortunately NYE was a paid party job at a local club so it was well attended but not lairy. Lots of dancing and we even managed Auld Langs Ayne on time. Unfortunately we had one old prat who over indulged and fell over one of the monitors smashing the connections’front panel….hey ho. So now a bit of a rest for the glam lads until the back end of January. Happy new year everyone.
  21. These don’t come up very often, think this is only the second one in the last couple of years. Glad I hung onto mine. GLWTS.
