1. I've just got a Gotoh 201 to go on my Squier VM Jazz.I expected to be a totally solid unit, but was intrigued to find that the chunky bit at the back, you know where the logo is,is in fact hollowed out. I have a bridge that I took off an old Legend Jazz copy, which is roughly the same same design as the 201 and it is a solid piece of metal.I expected the Gotoh to be the same.Is this normal for the Gotoh,or is something amiss?
2. I've just bought a VM Jazz off a fellow 'chatter and I'm over the moon with it.It looks impressive, feels nice and sounds good. It's slightly heavy though, but I guess thats a personal thing.I've got a Gotoh 201 bridge on order for it,just to finish it off,as well as a series/parallel push-pull pot (!).Definitely a keeper.
3. Just concluded a deal with Steve for a beautiful Squier VM Jazz.Great from start to finish.Over t'moon with the bass.Good guy to deal with.
4. I like it,but I like the red Marshall amps and speakers that it's leaning against.I had a red 50 watt stack back in the early 70's that I dragged around the Continent for 4 years.Never let me down. That was the last time I saw one.Unusual Ricky tho' I must say.
5. Paypal is the safest bet.It will convert his Canadian dollars to Sterling, and you will receive payment in Sterling.
6. SHUTTLE???Oh the amplifier..........You know,for a minute there I thought........then I thought,nah. I'll get my coat.
7. The solo from the middle of "Bouree" by Jethro Tull.Glen Cornick magic!
8. Why is everybody SHOUTING? I'm scared!
9. Joe Egan (half of Stealers Wheel)-Out Of Nowhere.....Nice!
10. I agree. The Bb is right. It does clash with the guitar, which should be playing a B,but it still works as an instantly catchy bassline.
11.
Just a little tip for you but if you find something that is a bargain and fancy keeping it that way... don't tell the whole bass playing community on a public forum FYI-I'm not in the slightest bit interested in the bass, but I thought that perhaps some other BCer might be interested to know about it.You know.On the EBAY LINKS forum!Thanx for the 'tip' though.

13.
What a journey! cool you got both though! Just noticed it has a fender precision decal, I recognise it as I bought one of the same myself recently. I would take it off and get the right Jazz one. I'm sure I've still got the email/website address of this particular manufacturer (decal) give me a shout if you want too. andy
I'm glad my Bass is going to somebody who really wants it!The thing is,it really is a Precision, but I've seen a lot of comments both on this forum as well as Talkbass, that it can't be a P bass because it has J type pups.It has a P bass body, and scratchplate, albeit with different cutouts,so if nothing else,it's a conversation piece,a bit of an oddity if you like and I suppose a Jazz decal would add to that. But she's(all basses are female,by the way)definitely a Precision.
14. Everything OK bridge-wise?Does it happen on all strings,or just one?

18. As in original post Waynester,£100 posted. It's become a millstone round me wotsit now.I just want rid.
19. Yeah,I understand what you are saying, guys, but when you've jammed with a guy, respected him as a fellow muso, and even regard him as a friend,it's a different story.Had it been some stranger,I wouldn't have entertained the idea. But there you go.As he said himself,he owes me one.But look at it this way,it gives you guys another chance to own this lovely thing.Come on.First £100.Its yours.Paypal welcome. You know it makes sense.
20. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;hl=squier+p5 Remember this?A couple weeks ago?Guess what.I've got the blardy thing back again! The guy I sold it to came back to me with the story that he bought it for his 15 year old son,who has now taken a dislike to the overly wide neck.He asked nicely if I would buy it back for the same price. As i know the guy,and respect him as a fellow muso,I did.So its back up for sale.Yet again.Same price.Sigh............
21. Check out the rest of his stuff!
22. Jase,I hunted through the book"The Fender Bass:an illustrated history" and could find no reference to such a beast.I must admit,it looks pretty sharp.Think I'll go for it!
23. I have FrankenJazz bass, sunburst, tort pickguard, rosewood fingerboard, the works.I really like this bass but I feel that the neck is not as good as it could be.I've seen a neck on the Bay,but heres the problem. It's maple, with maple fingerboard and dot inlays.Has anyone ever seen a Jazz with this combination.I'm trying to imagine what it might look like.Any sunburst Jazz with a maple fingerboard usually has block inlays, but I've never seen one with dots.Thoughts anybody? Is there anybody out there who's good at Photoshop who could provide a sort of preview?Cheers guys.
24. I'm sorry guys,to all who were interested in this bass,it is now sold.It went locally to fellow musician.Thanx for your interest though.
