Get one of these from maplins Mind you if it's oily sticky stuff you might need some sort of solvent, this is really just for blasting grime... works well on pedalboards too.

I've used GAK loads of times with no problems... even dropped a few prices on bigger orders for me, same with Thomann and Gear4Music. Agree with the 'next day delivery' thing though. I waited two months for a bass once then gave up and cancelled the order.... To be fair I was kept informed throughout, may be an idea to not list stuff they can't get hold of though.

Yeah of course, I understand the need for a short term fix... As a suggestion, I'd try leafleting gigs in the local metal scene (I'm assuming Birmingham has one?) In my experiance there still seems to be an awful lot of kids into the heavier side of music and a lot of those that are interested also seem to play an instrument... metal is one form of modern music that actually includes regular band instruments.... albeit buried under a wall of distortion...

I guess it's hard with kids these days... with so much popular music (not just chart stuff but music that is actually popular amongst teenagers) not featuring traditional band instruments (bass, guitar drums etc..) I'd imagine there are far fewer kids taking up the bass. With the vast amount of popular music being produced electronically, fewer and fewer kids are inspired to take up an instrument... of those that do many probably wouldn;t choose the bass guitar.

I had one of these for a while, it was an excellent cab, very bright, deep and modern sounding.

Maybe they havn't taken it out of all the packaging and want to just ship it straight out... mind you this would be pretty lazy.

What qualities would we be looking for in musowear? Hard wearing, comfortable... flourescent?

When I got my PC cabs they came with some nice padded slip covers that apperantely were made by the bloke in the warehouse nextdoor... I'd imagine these weren't a one off. I prefer them to the roqsolid onen I've had in the past.

Yeah I mean you can't just wear anything... nothing looks cooler than a dad rock covers band in matching black tee shirts...
