1. If it feels right, it is right. Or should that be on the reality thread?
2.
Absolutely. The (Small)Faces were a fantastic 'feel' band, often so apparently loose that it seemed like a car crash was about to happen, but it never did. Give me this sort of joyous playing instead of note-perfect sterility any day!
Too right!
3. He lives in the next village, we have mutual friends. He's a decent bloke.
4. Of no particular relevance, I was having a drink last week with the former Lindisfarne member who played mandolin on Maggie May. I could ask him about the bass next time I see him.
5. Good, we really want him to get a small valve amp so he doesn't keep blowing us all of the stage with with his Bassman 50 combo!
6. All Finnish women are completely mad, it's a simple fact. Except for the few that haven't gone mad. Yet. But they will. I ended up shacked with one who spoke much better English than my Finnish could ever be. But....she was mad too. They all are.
7.
Kunnioittaminen!
Kiitos!
8. heft is what's left when someone nicks your tea.
9.
Since then I've attempted to learn Dutch for a bunk-up.
That's nothing, I learnt bloody Finnish for the same reason!
10. Did our harp man Jay Myrdal ever get in touch? I passed your details on to him.
11. You misunderstand, I can use my gear at home, but I choose not to. Anything can be made to sound good in isolation, but how it works in a band context is (for me) the only thing that matters.
12. I don't see how you can judge whether a bit of kit works for you or not without gigging it. I only ever use my rig when I gig, I use a small combo for rehearsals and very rarely play at home, and if I do, I use headphones. Surely, using a cab in the environment it was made for is the only way to tell if it is useable for you or not?
13. hmmm,to save me searching how much and how slight a reduction?
14. I have been gigging my Super Twin for 2 1/2 years, and it looks like new. I use a simple roqsolid cover.
15. Damn, my favourite colours, back/black/maple, perfect match for my Jazz bass!
16. I once cut my hand on the bridge of a Jazz Bass during a gig, and by the time the gig finished, my bass was quite bloody. Nothing wrong with using an adjective based on the noun 'blood', surely?
17. I so love the look of my black/black/maple jazz that I may consider px ing my white/tort/rosewood precision for a a p bass look alike.
18.
+1. You really can't beat white, black and maple.
I'll see your white, black and maple and raise you black, black and maple.
19. There are other bass forums???

21.
A very enjoyable afternoon
I certainly had fun, and after sitting with an ice pack on my wrist for half an hour when I got home, surprisingly pain free, too!
