  1. I have the Boss WL20L - its great. For live use, Ive had it drop out due to the amount of wireless things going on in our band, but for home you'll be fine. I have recently acquired a lekato 5.8g guitar wireless set, but havent had chance to properly test it out to compare to the Boss yet.
  2. I had one for a few days and didn’t get on with it. I only had it for a few days as it had a faulty power supply and so had to be returned. the sound was too clean for my liking, and the volume was notched, and I couldn’t get on with it. It went from too quiet to too loud very quickly. You could use the compressor to adjust it but it was a pain. The Orange Terror bass is much better in my opinion. I had the Mk 1 version for about 15 years, using it with an Orange SP212 cab.
  3. Between £250 and £350 in Kent. This NYE we have £650
  4. When I was last without an amp and a gig came up, I hired one for the night. It cost about £40 for the night and saved me having to rush into buying something
  5. I have one of these and it’s awesome (and it’s tiny!)
  6. Off to see Funeral For A Friend on Sunday, who are doing a 20th anniversary show of Casually Dressed & Deep in conversation. looking forward to it, but equally it is making me feel old as I bought the album when it was released
  7. Thanks, I will do that. It was described as brand new, and only opened to test that it worked! He must have only used a battery to test it! Ill keep my eye out for a new one with a warranty
  8. We had it mid 2nd set, but I think it would be great as an opener. If you've got the right crowd its one of those songs that as soon as people recognise the riff there's lots of cheering! I saw Kasabian open with it a couple of years ago at the Brixton Academy and the place went crazy
  9. Love Club Foot, its always goes down well in our set!
  10. Good rehearsal last night, our first one for a couple of months. Seemed early, but we starting on learning a Christmas song ready for Dec!
  11. Im on Iron Maiden Book of Souls Live Chapter, they recorded a couple of songs from Download!
  12. I have just purchased a used Tech 21 YYZ Geddy Lee off eBay but it only seems to work with a battery and not the mains. I am using the official Tech 21 DC9 mains plug that I have from another Tech 21 unit, so I know the power supply is fine. I love the pedal, and got it for a good price but I am reluctant to keep it if it can only be used with batteries. Does anyone have any suggestions before I have to return it as faulty???
  13. The Tech21 Steve Harris does everything you require, and it has a tuner. I have one and it is brilliant, and you can get all sorts of sounds out of it. v expensive new but I’ve seen them going on eBay for a lot less. as an aside, the Tech21 stuff doesn’t seem to hold its value that well, even though it’s well build quality stuff
  14. I had thought I had a dep gigged lined up for a couple of months time. Id been messaging the band leader about the date, setlist and trying to arrange a rehearsal etc. Its however gone radio silent since I broached the subject of the fee and told him how much Id like for it. Id asked for £100, to learn 30 songs for a private party which I didn't think was over the top, given I would normally get £75 from a pub gig round here, and so another £25 on top to learn to the songs didn't seem to bad! He's now gone quiet! Id already learnt half the songs, so I am glad I checked before learning the rest!
  15. I also ditched my pedal board last year and have been OK with just the amp so far. That said, my amp has a compressor and a distortion channel and I still need the footswitch for that. I keep looking at getting a HX Stomp, but the last few gigs we have had have had loads of near misses with drunk people's drinks and the guitarists pedal boards, and that has been putting me off slightly as I wouldn't want a pint spilled over a £600 unit!
  16. In a similar position with only 3 gigs for the rest of the year. We’ve had to cancel a few and turn down loads of bookings due to a member being unable to commit to more. It’s a shame as I love playing and the extra cash is great. am desperately trying to find a second band or dep opportunities but not having much luck with that either. Even the local jam night was cancelled last night
  17. Agreed, this would focus everyone’s attention. In my opinion it’s a lot harder to cancel a gig than a rehearsal.
  18. Another +1 for the ACS custom. I also need to get some new ones. I lost a 26 filter in the summer and have been using the 15’s that I had spare in the Pacato, but they don’t give as much sound reduction as I would like. I did think about buying a set of replacement 26 filters, but my plugs are at least 4 years old now and it’s prob time for a new mould.
  19. What is that multi fx you have? I can't quite zoom in enough to see
  20. I did actually today think about getting one of those folding festival carts. Ideally I’d like a lighter cab as well, my orange one is bearable for a short walk, but gets heavier with distance! It’s only got one handle on the top so is awkward
  21. Played with The 77s at The Shakespeare in Canterbury on Friday. pub was in the middle of a pedestrianised area so load in and out was a pain. went very well though, lots of dancing and cheering from the crowd etc. A highlight was a guy randomly wearing a Viking helmet and having to ask security to chuck someone out. He was very drunk and very close to spilling his drink over pedal boards, he had a couple of warnings to be careful but he wasn’t listening. As such we had to ask security to remove him. Its 5 weeks till our next gig and I am looking for any dep opportunities, but not having much luck.
  22. Definitely try it, we just got a £1 bucket from b&q and stuck a picture of the bands logo on, and get the singer to mention it at points in the gig when it’s going well. Usually get a few extra quid in it 💰
  23. They are two great albums, and along with Draconian Times are well worth a detailed listed. I loved all three of them when they came out and listened to them to death. After Host, PL seemed to go back to the heavier/doom stuff. When Host came out, I was at uni in Sheffield and won a ticket to see them in Leeds but couldn't make it as it was end of term the day after and had nowhere to stay the night. I always regretted not being able to make it.
  24. Congrats, that's really cool to have an album released. I gave it a listen and It reminds me of Paradise Lost in their One Second/Host era
  25. I would go for a refund for an issue like this. I would be worried about what other issues the bass has, and if they become apparent after any initial warranty/cooling off period has passed then it is a lot harder to get a full refund
