  1. Thanks, yes I’ll take a look. The reason for the rental is that I bought two new heads, both of which developed faults within a few days of getting them, and I didn’t even get chance to gig with either of them. Am currently trying to decide what to try next. The rental is ok for now but I do miss having my own amp!
  2. Played with The 77s at The Queen Charlotte in Rochester last night. it was our 2nd gig as a band and it went really well. We played through our whole set, and then had to play through 5 again that we’d already played as people kept shouting for “more”. We didn’t have any spares that were rehearsed to a good enough standard to play, so we let some of the crowd pick the ones they wanted again, which was fun. I had to hire the Ampeg SVT 3 pro head again, put it didn’t seem anywhere near as loud as at our last gig. The pub was smaller, but I had to have it at max volume to keep up.
  3. PS. It’s a shame as jt was a fantastic sounding amp
  4. I would go if you get the chance. they played lots of the hits, so even if you are only a casual fan it’s worth it. production and stage show was great and failing that, there were at least 3 nice Dingwalls to see & hear
  5. They put on a great show
  6. I had the alpha omega 500 and it developed a fault on its 3rd use. One of the lights went out in the EQ sliders so I sent it back
  7. Saw Duran Duran tonight and John was using the Rio Dream bass. It sounded great, and now I wish i had ordered one. looks like he swapped the pick guard to a white one.
  8. Duran Duran put on a brilliant show tonight. John Taylor had a nice selection of Dingwalls which all sounded amazing. It was good to see and hear the Rio Dream bass in person, and now I wish I had ordered one 😭
  9. Duran duran at the O2 on Tuesday. Hoping that JT has the Rio Dream bass
  10. That’s very interesting to know. My cab is 8 ohms so not sure that would be suitable for me
  11. Following, as also potentially interested in this amp
  12. Thanks, I am disappointed as I really loved the sound of the distortion on this. I might try another AO500 when back in stock, or maybe even an AO900. I was looking at the AO900 but it was significantly more than the AO500 and I couldn’t really justify it
  13. My new amp woes continue. This time the new Darkglass amp had developed a fault after only being used a couple of times. the light in one of the eq sliders has stopped working. I did have some reservations about the reliability of the amp before I bought it, and my concerns proved to be correct. back to the drawing board again. Ps the EQ settings in the picture are not what I would normally have - I was just seeing if any of the other sliders had a problem 😀
  14. Thanks all for the responses, am going to pick up some thread lock and give the a try
  15. Thanks. I have tried taking the backplate off as well, and holding the inside of the jack whilst I tighten the outside but it still came loose. this device is I think meant to only tighten the nut whilst holding the rest of the jack tight
  16. Does anyone have any experience of using a jack tightener like the one pictured? The nut on the jack socket of my Duff Mckagen jazz bass special works itself loose (to the point of falling off) after every practice or gig. my boss wl20 transmitter is quite heavy as well which makes the problem worse. I am worried that by keep tightening it by hand, I’ll eventually twist/break one of the wires or connections that are attached inside. saw the jack tightener for sale and wondered if anyone had opinions before I got one
  17. Yes agree the red is nicest . I think they would have been better to have matching headstocks across the range
  18. I saw this on the FB page. I don’t like the green on the headstocks as much
  19. Another one for sale, this one’s in Belgium https://reverb.com/uk/item/68014810-dingwall-john-taylor-2023-custom
  20. That’s a cool looking bass
  21. I think it’s a combination of the exchange rate and them adding some to the price. They don’t seem to be listed as an official dealer on the Dingwall website. the one listed on Reverb earlier in the week was from an official dealer in Netherlands, and that was working out around £2,800. The Reverb price said £2,440 but I don’t think it was fully accounting for exchange rate and VAT. I was hesitant in buying something of this value from outside of the UK. If there was ever an issue I could imagine it being a right pain to send it back.
  22. Another European dealer has one for sale https://reverb.com/uk/item/68218707-dingwall-jt3-john-taylor-ltd-2023-rio-dream-pre-order quite a difference in price compared to the UK sale price. am holding out for a UK based one appearing for sale
  23. What’s the band called, looks a great set up
  24. Hopefully this will last longer than the Little Bass Thing did. Great first impressions. Will post more when have had chance to use it more
  25. They’ve all gone now
