1. looks good, is it solid under the pickguard? I reckon it'd look even better without
2.
cant believe your gettin rid of a double buck....i have one and i must say its a f***in awesome bass. loads of punch and power a def must buy! ! ! ! !
I traded mine for a P Bass, I just found the $$ too fiddly
3. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Japan-98-Reis...1742.m153.l1262 probably not the best price...
4. you'll have to order one from Japan for a decent colour; I agree red and white aren't the best selection
5. they're just Strat knobs in black
6.
Doesn't the place in Leeds still have a couple...they were on ebay?
yeah Big Deal on Eastgate has one in the window
7. I liked the old Q models. I used to have a Q4 Pro with EMG HZs in which I wish I never sold
8.
It doesn't mean lower prices. Skyline prices are staying the same. Although Lakland US prices increase 10% on January 1st. Lakland seem to think that the Indonesian quality is even better than the Korean and the benchwork and Plekking will still be done in Chicago. It's the Cort factory in Indonesia which apparently does the Squier VM series and the G&L Tributes. The Laklands will be their top of the line. There's lots of posts about this at Talkbass including from Lakland guys themselves.
production costs are lower in Indonesia than South Korea... bastards are sticking it to us again!
9. if this means lower prices I'm happy. My Indonesian Squiers are excellent and with Lakland construction ( Ibelieve they assemble the Skylines in their Chicago plant from foreign parts) then I'm sure they'll be as good as they are now
10. I wanted this first time and still can't afford it
11.
I've never a Precision with matching HS, got any pics?
this is a refin but it looks nice http://home.flash.net/~guitars/sonicprecision.html
12. never had any trouble using normal strings on my string through body basses
13. selling them as a group is going to limit your potential buyers
14. #3 by far. I was severely unimpressed with the MIM 70s I played this week. Never played a Geddy but I have loved every Japanese '75 I have played
15.
Looks very similar to Eric Claptons guitar (think it was an SG) in the 'Strange Brew' vid sometime's shown on TOTP2 etc. Psychodelia MAN!!
looks nothing of the sort!
16.
I live in Manchester. It seems fairly straightforward in practice from what you've said, but i'm confident in my own disability to operate any sort of tools efficiently that i would no doubt end up with a neck for a prototype 13 string bass if i attempted to do it myself I know that i could just buy the bits and get a local luthier to stick them together but it would cost me quite i bit i reckon! And i'm only 5'8" so i was worried the '54 body would totally dwarf me and i'd look ridiculous
a Jazz body is way bigger than a '54 P style body
17. that's really nice... It's sky blue btw #51 on the chart http://www.guitarstop.com/Fender/colorchart.htm
18.
There would be c.20% customs tax on top of basic price plus shipping, best to buy from someone who has already dealt with that - wasn't aware that Guitar Emporium were no longer able to import (check their recent thread about how they came close to shutting down due to excess stock but are now importing to order http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...uitar+emporium)
if you end up paying import duty anyway I'd just wait til the £ is strong against the $ again and buy it from ebay... GE is expensive

20. Music Ground in Leeds had one they claimed were owned by him, it was a beat to sh*t 70s sunburst P Bass. I don't thinkk they had any proof it was his
21. hi there, sorry this has been gone for months... I started another thread and forgot about this one; I sold it to NAS on here
22.
This is the bass i mentioned. Strange as they call it a P but it has Jazz pups.
