  1. MXR M82 now pending sold leaving Silver Peg and TC Mojomojo available £100 posted the pair. Less than new cost of Silver Peg and you get the Mojomojo thown in!
  2. (Edited as no longer relevant)
  3. Aquila have created something of a stir on TalkBass with their recently launched replicas of the famed Golden Spiral strings of yesteryear (tynex-wrapped guts, as played by Haden, Chambers, LaFaro some say etc). They come in two flavours, vintage (gut core) and synthetic. I am selling the synthetic D and G lightly used, along with well matched E/A from an Evah Slap set. Reason for selling: they were on my German flatback which I sold last month, equipped with a more 'regular' and sale-friendly set of Spirocores. As an FYI, the D is quite fat, like a true gut D. All in, this hybrid set cost me (un)comfortably over £200 to assemble but I will sell for a bargainous £130 posted. For convenience, I would prefer to sell as a set rather than split. If you have nothing better to do with your time, here's 22 pages of TalkBass following the development and launch of the Golden Springs https://www.talkbass.com/threads/about-a-possible-replica-of-the-kaplan-golden-spiral-gut-strings.1531645/page-22
  4. Very old school Megadeth, could be from Peace Sells to Rust in Peace era, but even faster!
  5. and replied, Spectracomp pending sold
  6. Update: just weighed the 4003 fireglo properly with digital scales and its lighter than I indicated at 4.08kg or 9.04 pounds
  7. Ah, but there is a Squire bass
  8. Is this still for sale, Paul? If so please check your PMs
  9. Haven't used these gigging or recording in the last year and no immediate prospect of doing so either - so may as well move them on. One Control Sonic Silver Peg - tiny, Ampeggy sounds, bought a month or two back on the forum but my Sansamp covers this - has box and velcro under pedal - £80 posted *SOLD* MXR M82 envelope filter - bought a year ago from ped on the forum - nice sparkles in the aubergine-coloured finish - box, no velcro - £80 posted *SOLD* TC Spectracomp - never used, just inspected, so totally as new - box, no velcro - £50 posted *SOLD* TC Mojomojo overdrive - owned for a couple of years, never gigged so in vgc - box, no velcro - £30 posted Pics to follow
  10. Someone needs to go to SpecSavers! But seriously, I blow with the wind from one day to the next as to which I prefer. Anyone want to make me a very near offer on either bass?
  11. In terms of pricing, Ashdown website is (almost) always more expensive than retailers (eg ABM 600 is £100 more on Ashdown site), so presumably this new amp will be available for closer to £1300 (still a lot of moolah, granted). What I don't understand is how they decide on retailers. The ABM 600 for example is available at PMT, Bax Shop and out of stock at some others (Andertons, Mansons). The newish Guy Pratt sig amp, the Interstellar 600, by contrast is only available through Ashdown (£1,299) or Bax Shop (£1,065).
  12. Very near offer on the jetglo 4003S, as I don't especially want to sell it on eBay?
  13. Steve bought a rather nice gigbag from me and was splendid throughout, including being chilled about ParcelForce's attempts to blow the box apart with a neutron bomb
  14. Ahhhh, Mrs C saw Grace Jones at RFH!
  15. I am guessing Mrs C went to the same concert last night (she is a Slave to the Rhythm) and said to me on her return that the sound was pretty poor at times with overly loud drums (especially) and bass. You were not alone in your observations
  16. I think he has more than 1 headless Status, according to Wiki. Maybe releasing some cash? Think Quo are supposed to be touring this year?? Maybe he is just thick-skinned?
  17. https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/rhino-s-headless-status-bass For the wealthy bass-playing Quo fans among you
  18. Thanks all, if I did go ahead with this route (and I would still prefer to track down a Handbox WB-100, which renders the question obsolete), my cab is a Barefaced Supertwin (2x12", relatively uncoloured)
  19. You know where I am going with this Jack! Owner of relatively lightweight Matamp GT100 .... in case I cannot get the Handbox valve beastie!
  20. Looking at old valve amps, I noticed that 'traditional' 60/70s based ones like Matamp have no DI out. Obviously you could mic the cab but is there a way (pedal, I assume, between amp and cab) to create a DI out for front of house? Not that I have a valve amp but am just pondering ... I have been after a Handbox WB-100 but can't track one down and its unclear when they will begin manufacturing them again.
  21. Details on 4003S (£1600 plus delivery): Bought new from BassDirect in January 2022, its a 2021 edition 4003S (meaning vintage style knobs and unvarnished fretboard) in good condition jetglo. If I am being picky there are a couple of tiny, shallow indentations/blips in the finish and the black Rickenbacker logo on TRC has slightly rubbed off (from when I removed it to adjust truss rods), otherwise it looks great. Also, for full disclosure, the jack socket is quite tight so the bass lead needs to be pushed in quite hard to 'click' or remove (simple 2 minute fix to ease spring for those who are inclined, I couldn't be bothered as it works fine and actually made me feel more secure when playing.) Weighs 4.2kg/9.4 pounds Will be sold with original hard shell case and fitted Rickysounds pickup surround bezel (£45) - the chrome pickup cover is safe in the case. Pics show befire and after bezel fitting. £1,600 collected from SW13 or UPS delivery at cost (£25-30?). UK only
  22. Having dealt with Harry before (top BCer), I believe he is in Margate,Kent
