    Don't give up Al - advertise for a drummer (or lean on your ex-drummer to find a dep, playing the he-owes-you card) and keep the rest of the band together. You can rehearse without drummers (drum machine, tapes, click track) to keep the band motivated. Best of luck mate.

    Had just over two weeks off this summer in sun/beach locations and it was staggering how my callouses disappeared with swimming/lack of playing etc. The first rehearsal back was a painful blister-wracked affair

Scott LaFaro is my favorite DB player and the Village Vanguard albums my favorite jazz albums (I recommend the hard-to-find full unedited album with off-takes, interrupted takes etc). I even have the Kolstein LaFaro bass as my own mini tribute. Amazing player who revolutionised DB playing in only a few short years

    I have this combo and unfortunately have not gigged it so can't answer about volume. However, from home use I have no doubt it's mighty loud! I like the amp a lot, I find it quite versatile, going from clean to warm and overdriven. A great rock amp IMHO

    As I said a few posts earlier (and a few months back), this is a wonderful playing and sounding bass but its the CAR finish - with silver streaks showing through the relic'ing that really makes this stand out from the crowd. Whoever gets this will not be disappointed

    Larry Taylor - great DB underpinning of Tom Waits and also bassist for Canned Heat ... not to mention he apparently played the bass on Last train to Clarksville!
