1.
Is it similar to this one: http://www.thomann.d...ass_piezo_g.htm ? Mark
Good spot, they come in black and chrome too. Only problem is the housing is a different shape to that used by Parker so it wouldn't match, unless you could transplant the piezo 'saddle'
2. I would be interested in the answer as I have toyed with buying an Ibanez Affirma and the piezo bridge, as I understand it, is often a bit rubbish. So if the piezo units could be replaced with modern equivalents it could sort the problem. Sorry if its a bit OT!
3. Alan Cringean at ACG basses uses a lot of piezo pickups in his basses - maybe he could help out here?
4. PS, would entertain a trade with a MarkBass F1/F500 or p/x for Mini CMD121P combo (in very good condition) as I could use this as a backup for my DB (the TH500 doesn't really work with DB). In the case of the combo, there would be money your way (£50)
5. Nice WoT and incredible condition
6. Sold pending
7. Cheers Gareth - and a Saturday bump from me
8. Bump for a lovely cab at a steal of a price
9. I play them in a jazz way, mixing 7th, 9th and 23rd notes in PS, one opportunity I was glad to have missed: there is a dwarf who is a regular member of the London 'alternative' metal and punk scene and - after a gig with my old death metal band back in 2006 - he approached me and asked if I wanted to join his putative band, "C*ntslurp". I had to decline
10. I once bought Noel Gallagher a pint just after the first bass player (Guigsy I think) left and foolishly didn't offer my services. I would have been bloody good at 16th root notes by now ...
11. Eat em and Smile - what an album! Yankee Rose and Ladies Nite in Buffalo are superb - the chemistry between Vai, Sheehan, Bissonette and DLR is awesome
12. Simples. Get the relevant Youtube page up. Copy the URL and paste into a post. No more fiddling around with square brackets etc, couldn't be easier
13. Don't worry Phil, one day your flares, kaftan and patchouli oil will be back in fashion too
14. It was an A width (1.5" nut) neck and was quite slim with really good, low action. One of the fastest necks I've ever played
15. Nothing tops their first album, in my view. Astonishing, original piece of melodic hard rock/metal. Friday enjoyment for you all; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzkXGIRaxcI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-IUB62zDlA
16. I had a sonic-blue-faded-to-seafoam-green Bacchus 62J that I sold to BC'er Steve last year. Was as good as any Fender Jazz I've tried including custom shop. Lovely bass
17. Nah. First two albums - and to a lesser degree Women and Children first - trounce all over Hagar-era Van Halen IMHO \nn/
18. 3 out of 4 ain't bad! Besides Michael Anthony is entrenched in Chickenfoot now with Sammy Hagar (who could NEVER replace Dave Lee Roth as far as I am concerned)

20. I've not been described as that before. I am only disappointed that you are not a fit bird, Gareth
21. Many thanks gents, I think I got it for a steal of a price but I am spreading the BC love! I prefer collection/meet-up and will leave this running a few days on this basis. However, if I end up posting, please be aware that I have given a BC'er who contacted me today first dibs.
22. Great, thanks for that. Going to have a try-out this weekend as it looks a very sensible methodology
23. I am rationalising my two bass rigs into one (see Aguilar TH500 sale separately in this sub-forum) and am cutting down to one small cab (my Acoustic Image Focus) and one larger cab (my new Acme B2 2x10). My truly excellent Euphonic Audio Wizzy 12 cab cab sits uneasily between the two, capability-wise, hence I am selling it. Its the loud 4 ohm version, is in excellent condition and - since I bought it from BC's BB2000 (John) last May - I have acquired a padded cover for it (in which it has always been stored). I am looking for £200 (what I paid John but now includes the padded cover) but don't have a box large enough to post, hence collection/meet-up in London only Here is BB2000's FS thread (if thats OK?) which includes photos and specs: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1231417
24. Hi all, I have two rigs and its frankly OTT. Given I am only gigging DB currently I am going to stick with my Acoustic Image Clarus+ head and sell my Aguilar TH500. The TH500 is as new, has never left my house and has only a few hours play on it. I haven't bought the gigbag (as I have a Mono amp bag) and I threw away the packaging (not enough space to store all my boxes). However it will be securely packed. £490 posted or £480 collected/meet-up in London (I am near Hammersmith) It looks completely mint, so here is a stock pic:
25. This Rabbath method looks very interesting for someone (ie, me!) Who can lose his way on the 'fretboard' when moving up and down the neck of a DB. Two questions though, Fatback: In the vid, Sturm teaches first position with the first fingered note on the G string as an A. If you wanted to, say, play G# followed by A, would you use your first finger for both and slide from one note to the next (which I assume as it maintains integrity of overall hand/thumb position)? And in the second position, is your thumb opposite (using the G string again) the C or C# (I am assuming the latter, so your first finger falls naturally on C)? Cheers Clarky
