    Thanks Peter but in this case I did have ADG Oliv on my 3/4 flatback bass a year or so back and loved the sound (even the A). I got fed up with having to re-tune all the time and sold them. Now this bass is just for home use (I gig my downsized Kolstein) I am happy to put up with the tuning instability

    These have the reputation as one of the best and woodiest sounding mag pickups for DB. I only bought it a month or so ago for a belt-and-braces approach to amplifying my downsized Kolstein travel bass but have since found an Underwood works beautifully. Hence I am moving this on. It came from Gollihur's in the US and cost me about £150 or so including import duty and delivery but will let it go for £110 posted as the buyer will need to get some 3M Dual Lock tape to attach to the end of their bass fingerboard (I used it all and it's not reusable). Should set you back less than a tenner on Amazon.     I just popped an Oliv G back on my 3/4 bass and - stuff the tuning instability issues - it sounds and plays wonderfully. Think I want to match it with an Oliv D and - rather than shell out for a new one - wondered if any of the august BC double bass-playing community happens to have one in good condition (no breaks in windings, separation etc) they are looking to sell? Yep, you will be hard pushed to find a better sounding passive Jazz. The chap I bought it from might be taking it back if one of his sales goes through but he told me to keep it up FS in case he can't raise the moolah. In his words its the best sounding Jazz he has owned (and he has owned CS amongst others)

    I just picked up a lovely first series (big Fender logo) JV Jazz from Rick. He was very accommodating and let me try the bass for several days before even accepting payment. Top BC'er!

    As a recent convert to Uncle Tupelo (Tweedy's breakthrough alt-country band), I am also rather wowed by this beauty. Shame I am cr@p at guitar. Don't suppose you want to trade for a US Jazz bass in a rather fetching shade of 'hot rod red'? I assume its a 'no' but if you don't ask ....

    1999 Fender US Jazz in unusual 'hot rod red' colour, with added concentric pots (a la '62 and earlier Jazzes) and Wizard 64 pickups. Sounds fantastic, plays superbly well. Quite a few minor surface scratches and bumps, as befitting a well played/gigged bass but nothing through to the wood or really gruesome. Basically a super nice Jazz which I am only selling as I have picked up a superb Fender JV Jazz from the first run in the early 80s. Soft gig bag only unfortunately but would be well packed. £620 collected from London or add £15 for post. I have pinched the photos from a previous FS thread, hope thats OK (the bass is now wearing steel rounds, not flats) No trades please as this is paying for the JV.     Golden spirals had a tynex wrapped D and G. As played by no less than Scott Lafaro. No longer made (they stopped due to mad cow disease crisis) and hotly sought after as a result.     Hi Ralph I really appreciate the offer. To be frank I have taken a listen to Bouquet and they are pretty far away from us genre wise, so that I can envisage the crowd being at the bar nattering while we are prancing around on stage singing about being valiant in Spanish! Many thanks for thinking of us but I think we need a more folksy evening to capture the crowd's attention
