1. How is this still available? One of the best valve amplifiers for £800. If I hadn't bought a new amp a few months ago I would be all over this.
2. Im thinking about tuning 3 steps down to B E A D. Will a 50-110 gauge set be alright for this or should I look at heavier gauges? Also, should my bass be re-setup to accomodate the difference in tension?
3. Purchased a Boss ODB-3 from Andy. It was well packaged and delivered quickly. Cheers again!
4. -1 for Interparcel/UPS Im having a sh*t time with Interparcel just now. I paid £50 for a courier and insurance to pick up a valve head yesterday. The guy I bought it from took the day off work to wait for UPS. UPS arrived and didnt take the head as he hadn't printed off STICKERS! How many people own something that can print off stickers? Ridiculous. Ive rearranged for it to be picked up on Friday so we'll see what happens.
5. On top of what I already have I would add - Univox Super Fuzz Wren and Cuff The Caprid Ampeg Scrambler Boss CS-2 Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk B Tech 21 Boost Chorus Tronographic Rusty Box Catalinbread SFT Digitech Bass Whammy DOD Meatbox Iron Ether Nimbus Pigtronix Mothership Strymon Timeline
6. Hi guys, Im not very technically minded so this might be a really obvious question. But, what happens to the signal and sound when two of the same pedal are connected in series? For example, if I had two Wren and Cuff Russian Tall Fonts on at the same time; would this boost the signal twice as much creating a 'fizzier' distortion or would it make little audible difference because the first pedal has already boosted the signal past the threshold?
7. I was shocked by the price until I watched the video. Sounds amazing!
8. Thats disappointing. The two times Ive heard it being used in person Ive liked it but I could see it going the way of my B3K with it being a little too harsh and grindy. Im not convinced by the BDPG after the clips Ive heard but it could be amazing. Hard to tell until you hear it for yourself with your own gear. Im interested to see how you get on with the BDPG if you go ahead and buy it though. Haha, thanks man. Decent of Big John to spread the word. We split up at the end of last year just as we were about to play Reading and Leeds and record an album with Kurt Ballou. Grim. We are in the process of starting a new band with 3/4's of Crusades though. Your band sound great man, you've made a new fan. Seems like the Rusty Box should have fitted in perfectly with the style as well.
9. What didn't you like about the Rusty Box? I was thinking of selling my B3K and buying one instead? I think Im in a similar position to you tone wise just now. I dont think I'll be happy with any overdrive until I have a 200W tube amp doing most of the work. I've heard nothing but good things about the Catalinbread SFT though.
10. I bought a Peavey T 40 bass from Dannybuoy. It arrived quickly by courier and was extremely well packaged (bubble wrap, foam, dividers... the lot). Dan was very pleasant to deal with (recommending tones etc.) and I would encourage others to deal with him in the future. Cheers again!

12. I am interested if the shipping overseas falls through!

14. Cheers mate! I'll be sure to check out the Castrovalva set when we're at ArcTanGent as well!
15.
funnily enought they will be kickin about the wickerman festival this weekend as so will i! If I see them I will ask the dude in person!
Yeah im actually playing with them in a few weeks at ArcTanGent but im too impatient to wait till then to ask him haha. Enjoy Wickerman! Be sure to check out my friends band Vasa!
listening to the song, and seeing the size of the pedal too, i'm 90% sure.... tronographic rusty box... sounds like jesus lizard bass to me, which is jazz bass and s/s traynor distortion...
I think thats the one mate, cheers! They are very Jesus Lizard-y. Seriously considering giving up my B3K now for a rusty box!
I really don't get what folk hear in that kind of bass tone? IMO it lacks bass & ends up sounding like a gui**r. But I suppose if we all liked the same sounds then music would get boring.
I dont think that tone lacks bass at all. Theres more than enough low-end to fill out the sound with that added punch from the overdrive and plectrum to cut through everything which suits the music perfectly. I love it, but like you say, its all down to opinion.
16. Yeah apologies, I should have just linked to the video. He has a boss tuner as well as the 'white' pedal. Thanks for the suggestions so far. It seems to have two channels so it could also be a Bass Metaphors or a Tortuga Sasquatch? Watch "Fat Goth - Surf's Down (Live)" on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dg8BnaeLzYI
17. This is a bit of a weird request but could you name any bass overdrive or distortion pedals that come in a white casing? I saw a video of a bassist with an incredible overdriven sound and the only pedal he was using was white. The only pedal I can think that it could be is a Big Muff Pi with Tone Wicker? Are there any others? Cheers.
18. If you're at Reading or Leeds this year then pop along to the BBC Introducing stage and check out my band Crusades! http://crusades.bandcamp.com/album/golden-throats
19.
That is a cool board! .. How are you finding the 'Squeezer' ? (I like most things valve).. does it sound as good as any other compressor you've tried?? Cheers & good luck with your music.. Simon Edward
Cheers Simon! Yeah, the valve is what I like most about the Squeezer. It works really well with the B3K when you turn up the gain to give everything an extra push. The ability to 'shape' the compression with the other knobs makes it more versatile than most other compressors as well. The only negative I can think of is that it runs at 12V which is no biggy!
20. Excellent guys! The line-up is incredible, im really looking forward to it. We're on at 12 on the Friday so the only thing we'll be clashing with is your hangover! Catch you at Three Trapped Tigers Wil!
21. Thats great man, thanks for the help! I'll definitely be looking into it.
22. Ive been watching these on Ebay for a few months now. He usually changes the colour of the LEDs with every build. Seem to go for anything between £75 and £95. Hopefully they sound as good as they look!
