1. Id definitely consider it Kev! I just cant get the sansamp and b3k to sit in harmony. Im selling the sansamp on saturday pending collection and payment so its a possibility. Have you owned the b3k and b7k? Im still not convinced about the b3k and my Musicman. I can see it maybe yielding better results with passive basses?
2. Come and see my band Crusades play at ArcTangent Festival on the 29th of August. www.arctangent.co.uk
3. Finally found a decent bit of wood for my pedals. Just need to velcro them on now! Selling the Sansamp as I havent used it in a few months. Bass > Polytune > B3K > Squeezer > Amp.
4. Just for the record, the delivery problem was down to the courier and not Bass Direct. Mark from BD was very helpful.
5. Played Edinburgh last night with Alright the Captain and Vasquez. I couldnt hear myself onstage which put a huge downer on it but we seemed to come across well. Vasquez and Alright the Captain are amazing and you should check them out if you like instrumental/math rock riffery!

7. Cheers. Im using a Stingray so I should be alright. I'll post a picture of my pedals once I have purchased a board and its not just a collection of pedals scattered on the floor!
8. About 10 seconds of my band at T in the Park last year. Cut to about 1:20... we're on just after Nevada Base.
9.
Depends on the coated, yet to wear out a set of elixirs (although lending a bass to a pick player for recording gave them dandruff), but the DR blue coated jobs died in standard sort of time.
Cheers. I'll definitley be looking further into the life-span of the coated Ernie ball, D'Addario and GHS sets over the nickel rounds as they are all dying pretty quickly on me albeit the D'Addario lasting slightly longer.
10.
Thanks dudes. The Thumpinator doesn't change the tone as far as I can tell. I took it out the chain out of curiosity and noticed a slight roll off of treble (no buffers between bass and amp). Currently have two buffers now (Thump and B7K) and I don't perceive a difference in tone running clean.
Cheers. I have a similar set-up without the Thumpinator and wondered if it made any difference to any loss in tone that may occur through using 5 or so true bypass pedals? I didnt realise the B7K had a buffer right enough and I had assumed it was true bypass like the B3K. Is there any need for a buffer with as few as 5 true bypass pedals and two 20ft cables? Id hate to think I was losing tone from my bass due to not having any form of buffer on my board. The Thumpinator is still on my want list regardless of its use as a buffer but if it was of value to my setup as a buffer as well as its other benefits then it will definitely be my next purchase.
11.
Not sure what you ordered - and it's always horrible to wait - but in fairness to BD it's pretty much a one man band there.
Yeah, my comment was meant more as a compliment to Strings Direct than a dig at Bass Direct. Although I'll be a bit miffed if its not here by Friday saying as they'd promised to post the order on Monday.
12. I placed an order about 3pm yesterday with the cheap next day delivery option and it arrived this morning. Amazing service! I placed an order with Bass Direct last Friday and it still hasn't arrived yet...
13. I know this is an entirely different question but it kind of relates to the topic... Is it worth spending almost double the price on a set of coated strings as they are meant to last longer or are you better off just buying two pairs for roughly the same price?
14.

Beautiful taste in pedals. Does the Thumpinator change your tone at all by acting as a buffer? Or is the tone unchanged when its taken out of the chain?
15. Thanks for such a helpful and in-depth reply! Ive actually just bought and recieved a T Rex Squeezer from Basschat user Andytoad for the same price as I would have paid for a Deepressor. The only info I recieved on the Deepressor, before your post, was to do with the issue that you highlighted concerning hum when connected in a signal chain. This alone put me off buying it and Im now glad that I didnt as the Squeezer with its tube and gain control gives the "growl" that you were probably looking for with the Deepressor. Its also disappointing to hear that Palmer didnt get back to your emails. It has put me off the company altogether now. Hope the Carl Martin is treating you well!
16. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with or opinions on this pedal? It seems relatively cheap for a bass compressor. Does it stand up to higher priced models such as the MXR, Aguilar, EBS, 3Leaf and Diamond? I could do with a compressor pedal but its not really a priority just now. Is the Deepressor worth buying or am I better holding off and spending the £100 or so more on say the MXR? Cheers Paul

19. I didnt get a reply mate. Dunno if the message thing is being funny today?
20. Some really nice basses in here. Here's my 2005 $$ that I sold last year. It was the first ever Double Buck to have a natural finish with gold hardware! Goodbye sweet prince!
