  1. True. Also with this the valves stand proud on the top of the device.
  2. The problem is that a lot of the sorting and delivery process is automated. They’re also dealing with tens of thousands of items a day, it’s not practical to separate the fragile items and sort them separately. I’m not defending them, merely pointing out that a fragile sticker won’t protect the item, that’s entirely down to the packaging.
  3. Not helpful I guess, but as has already been said, the valves should have been removed a packed securely and separately. I’m surprised that Royal Mail haven’t said that, or maybe they will. Fragile stickers and tape are a great idea, I’m sure as much as possible the staff probably do take note, but a lot of the sorting process; especially for smaller items is automated, conveyer belts etc and scanners that read the bar coded labels.
  4. I love proper printed books. I’ve got quite a few PDF’s of text books that people have generously given me, I can get into them though, a proper printed book is totally different though, I can just sit, read and become absorbed in it.
  5. I don’t know if they have it in France, there’s a programme over here called the repair shop. There was one of those things in that photo on the other week. They got it all repaired and refurbished for the lady who owned it, she was crying when she first heard it working again.
  6. That is seriously awful. My cat was sitting on my lap, her ears pricked up and she ran off.
  7. I’ve noticed it’s cheaper to buy the cd too. I get a lot of my music from Bandcamp where you buy the physical product and a download, but you can stream too from the Bandcamp app.
  8. Me too, especially with books. If I’m writing an essay too, I have to print it off to read it properly.
  9. I saw that on their Facebook page. Nice looking bass!
  10. I was just reading this that a friend shared on Facebook. https://concreteshelves.blog/2018/09/25/taylor-dupree/ I personally love a physical product, especially when it’s well presented. I’ve been very fortunate over the last 3 years or so to have my music released on vinyl a few times, I also had an album released just this week by a new label on cassette.
  11. Take advantage now, I can see prices going up from April fools day next year.
  12. I guess you have to see the beauty in the intent rather than the outcome.
  13. If you look at his other items for sale, the one particularly I don’t think you’re too far off with your mention of him using an angle grinder to cut the nuts.
  14. Did it die or just evolve and branch into other genres? Depends what is meant by rock n roll, there’s the 50s Bill Haley stuff, though in America it’s used to describe quite a large section of music.
  15. This is beautiful.
  16. That’s what was inferring to with the video that I posted earlier; when Scot does the blind test with the basses, he still sounded like him, him playing a £10k Fodera or a £100 cheapo from Amazon.
  17. I would absolutely love an Anthony Jackson Fodera, though not the latest model.
  18. This is quite interesting, kind of sums up my opinion on things too.
  19. it's not a job I’d fancy doing to be honest. There seems to be more and more online shopping meaning more and more parcels, but are they recruiting more delivery staff and making their rounds smaller? Probably not that would eat into their profits, let’s have more parcels delivered by the same number of drivers. Surely the driver has a list of his drop-offs? Wouldn’t it, or shouldn’t it say on that X2?
  20. It also needs to take into account the budget. The absolute best that I’ve tried has to be Fodera. I’ve played a couple and the quality has been amazing. They’re also one of the most expensive too.
  21. Approximately 4 months old, I’m selling because I’ve bought a Sound devices recorder and a separate mic. This is in excellent condition and comes complete with the original box and packaging, a Zoom plastic case, a really nice padded case, a 32gb memory card and a Rycote windjammer. The H4n on it's own is currently £185, so this with the accessories is quite a good deal. I previously owned the older H4n model, this is far better, it uses the same mics and preamps as the next model up the H5, consequently the noise floor is much lower, perfect for field recording, which is what I’ve been using it for. Price includes special delivery next day postage.
  22. When I started taking music seriously when I was about 13 I started keeping a diary with how long I practiced each day, setting myself targets for a week or a month.
  23. It’s happening all over the country. It’s sad, but the thing is to keep them going we need to support them by going to watch gigs.
  24. There are lots of threads about this. My personal thoughts are that it might clean the accumulations of sweat and grease, but won't repair any physical damage to the string i.e. from where they been in contact with the frets, also the core of the string is usually made from steel which rusts. Any improvement is generally very short lived, and gets shorter each time. I think it's just best to keep your hands clean and wipe the strings over with a nice dry, lint free cloth.
  25. Ah right. I use D’Addario XL.
