[/quote] The problem with having a 2x10 & a 4x10 together is that the 2x10 is gonna be getting the same juice from the amp as the 4x10. If looking at cabs, look for the sensitivity of the thing. Watts mean very little on their own.

I agree with Lozz. Also pop down to a decent bass shop & take your bass with you to try as many as you can. I went with Markbass too & if you want that "Valve" sound, there's plenty of pedals that can do that, Sansamp being the most popular, I like my Moog for a little warm drive.

I'm not there yet, but working on it. One of the guitarists only learns the song at rehearsal. Never spends any time at home with his guitar (so a stereotypical guitard, I suppose) & despite wanting to play funk/soul/jazz, can't break out the rock mold. But we're working on it & hopefully either he'll change his musicianship or musicianship shall change him.

Isn't that what an overdrive on a low setting does? I have my Bass Murf set with a bt of drive & it gives a nice bit of grit to the sound. Not fuzz or distortion, but just that bit of "push".

A decent 2x10 would probably be more than adequate & you can add another 2x10 at a later date if you should need more. If they're decent cabs, then they should have the same (or similar) frequency range regardless of driver size. If the 15 has more bass than the 2x10/2x12 then I'd be looking for better 2x10/2x12s.

Which one of your 2 cabs do you prefer the sound of? I'd change it so you have 2 cabs the same. BTW, ignore the wattage, it's meaningless alone.

I can confirm that the Markbass combos are excellent for sticking electro-acoustic guitar through & even does a decent job with the electric guitar. I dare say most of the digital amps would be too. Another option would be to get a good active pa cab & use an amp modeling pedal.

There's already a lot of reading on here in relation to it & it can get rather technical as to why 2 different cabs are not a good idea, but hey, try it. Nothing to lose. Just don't get caught up in the "10s give you mid & top & the 15's for the bass" drivel.

Si, have you ever considered linking all those OC2s together & then playing through them up the dusty end on an electric violin?

I'd find a local bassist who has a different rig from your's & try each other's gear (his cab, your amp, etc). I've never found the LMII lacking though.

Another OC3 man here. I tried an OC2 & it wasn't what I was looking for. Bought the OC3 off Shep & I'm very happy with how it sounds through a couple of filters & I really appreciate the decent tracking that it has too.

I like the look of the Babicz bridges. It's about which one has the best adjustments, the easiest string placement & which one you like the look of the most. The ABM ones are also well made, but they're redonkulously priced.
