We got a weeks notice on last Saturdays gig that the pub wasn't putting bands on anymore Got a gig on a days notice for that night due to illness and we went down a storm

Ask about ,ring pub say sorry we can't make it ,this band are free ,leave it at that

My gopro picks up sound well though I'm sure some will have more complicated set ups

Different for all bands not just rock.I was in an originals band in the 90s and the only way to get anywhere was gig,finding gigs was tough and you got paid zilch,then you knock the odd ep out and send it off in the post etc These days you dont need gigs to reach thousands of potential fans.The kids still have their bands like we did .My sons into grime and stuff and its a healthy as can be expected

Just don't,its all about drawing the line and concentrating on other stuff like the Police overlooking small drug crime etc,chasing down every breaking of every law doesn't make sense .I think you need victims and i wasn't a victim buying my 62ri knock up with a logo on.I knew what i was buying and the guy i sold it to did

People spend millions on fake goods every year,well aware they are fake and thats from big sellers doing big numbers.They get raided and stuff burnt etc which is fair enough,the buyer are seller where perfectly happy with each other. i dont see basses getting passed around one to one with clear statements of what they are being an issue at all. As you said from the outset its illegal (apparently)

Not sticking my fingers anywhere,you said it,its a guy selling a copy bass to another guy who knows it is,not heroin dealing .No ones stamped down on it or made it an issue because it isn't one

haven't time.we're talking individuals selling on a one to one to others,not mass counterfeiting .The vast majority are sold with good clear details of exactly what it is and the price reflects it.We seem to getting worried on other peoples behalfs

Putting a logo on your bass doesn't make it illegal,i could write it on with a marker ,selling it 100% as a bass with a logo on isn't selling a fake either.What about putting a Fender stamped neck plate on or a genuine Fender neck on a bitsa?.If you sell it and describe it honestly i'm not sure what's illegal or fake about it.If i sell my bass and put on THIS ISN'T FENDER what law am i breaking?bearing in mind everything but the neck is Fender japan

Well you could buy a Fender and upgrade/downgrade everything but the neck and be in the clear and thats not misleading or build a licensed top class bass with a transfer and be a conman The P AND J Basses are imitated beyond belief in hundreds of forms.People probably see me and my Sadowsky and think shame he couldnt afford a Fender. As long as people are honest i don't see a problem.At the price range we are talking ,how it plays will be more important I Put an all parts 70s neck on my fretless Jazz and its superb,the logo finishes it off

Enjoyed it Couple of points to comments, Not everyone who will watch is a muso so "i knew that already" goes out the window.Its a good peep into a world normal punters probably don't think about.The show off jam sessions i thought were good,again its saying "we can turn up plug in and do this !" BJ does appear ruthless but i think at some point solo guys think i need a change some new people to bounce off.He could of done it better but hey. it was quite a small bunch it focused on but how many do you talk to? I've seen docs about the Bacarrach guys etc before ,Osbourne etc,then docs about Zappas guys and Peter Gabriels guys .The BBC just did a one about Slick with Bowie and the Stones's guys and Wendy and lisa so its looks like we'll get a big picture over various programmes. I'm doing my Hired hand this weekend with two gigs ,i'll get about 30 of the 100 plus gigs they have in for 2018.Be nice to get a few more but it does me

Agree i think if you had the above with Moving pictures Rush Rage against the machine 1ST ALBUM rhcp Californication Tool 10,000 Days Japan Best of Led zep 11 Grace jones Island life Any decent Disco compilation You'd be a better play at the end of it all

Because the thread title is Fretless bass of the year ?I had a quick look at the winner then thought i'd mention the Cort.My fretless bass of the year is the one i bought.Even if i replied saying not bad but i prefer my £275 Cort it's still not negative it's me stating a preference.Likewise is it not okay for someone to just say sorry i don't like it ?
