1. I love that they accept it's lip syncing, especially how the slap carries on whilst he's holding up message at the end.
2. strange choice of band name, the disaster in which the only fatality was a dog. am liking what i'm hearing so far though.

Mew

I honestly thought that this topic was going to be about pokemon. oh well.
4. I've got small hands, and unless you're trying to play something mental like portrait of tracy, it doesn't really matter. Just go to a shop and see what feels comfortable, then come back onto basschat and see if you can buy it second hand, as it's usually half the price that way.
5. I had a go at doing something like this one weekend, which failed dismally, so hearing it being done this well is damn impressive!
6. it also gives you a free hand to scratch your nose, or wipe the sweat off your brow. Probably doesn't look as good as air punches though.
7. I stuck .exe at the end of the name and it still opened it in notepad. Would you be able to upload it as a zipped .exe?
8. I can listen to a song or two, but definitely not a whole album. Would greatly prefer to listen to the same bassist in a band situation, e.g. wooten as part of the flecktones instead of his solo stuff.
9. might be worth thinking about heat when considering masks. would have though more than half an hour set with lights on you and your face encased in plastic could get somewhat unpleasant.
10.
Get rid of the aluminum outer casings. If they'd been properly machined with fins for heatsinking the amp would run cooler, but being the slabs they are they retain heat instead of sloughing it away. They also double the weight of the amp. I rack mounted mine, and with a computer style fan ventilating the rack it's never more than slightly warm to the touch.
i noticed today that after playing for about half an hour there was a slightly funny smell, and inside i can see a very tiny orange glow. I'm guessing this is bad, would removing the casing help in any way? Edit: should I make this a separate thread in the technical issues section?
11. curry and a beer. preferably tiger.
12. well a quick googling suggests you'd be paying around the £300 mark. I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something alot prettier than that second hand.

Moffat Bass Bash

I just got confused when I misread that as mosfet, and thought that there was a whole bass bash about a certain type of amplifier
14. You might want to see if you can find an ear training programme, and use it to 'train your ears' for interval identification. It's definitely not a quick fix though, as I've been doing it for a year and I can only reasonably do it up to a major 5th.
15. well then i hope you don't like going on holiday if you don't trust wireless: http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg2032...or-takeoff.html
16. This point may have been made already, and if so I apologise. I've always wondered how much of buying a super expensive bass is just a placebo effect, in that you expect it to sound and feel better, therefore it does so. It would be interesting to do some blind testing of different bass tones at a bass bash to see how much difference there really is, and whether people can hear the price difference or not.
17.
Tournament? Is it still the Jousting season in November? I thought that ended in August.....
you forgot to consider global warming.
18. so long as i don't find out i have a tournament or something nearer the time, I'd be more than happy to come. Since there are no spectors on the list, i'll bring my rebop. will be sending messages pleading for lifts from bristol, so I shan't bring my rig (superfly head w/ warwick neo 1x12) unless someone really wants me to.
19. I was gonna suggest wotnwhy's straw hat idea, so i guess +1 to that.
20. i had a similar issue a couple of months ago, so after doing some research I wrote this EQing guide in the wiki: http://wiki.basschat.co.uk/info:tips_and_tricks not sure how useful you'll find it but it might make a good starting point.
21. how about robot obama?
22.
I really wouldn't trust their after sales service either, if they have any, which is one thing they could offer to get one over on the internet sellers.
in my ignorance i got my first bass there, which came with a year warranty. needed a small repair on a pickup done, so took it back to them. came back with the head of one screw completely mangled so i can't adjust the height of that pickup. not impressive. Edit: I have a feeling i've already told that story in a similar thread, if not this one. oh well.
23. led zep. would have tried to stop bonzo drinking himself to death whilst i'm at it.
24. i shan't add anything to this except for welcome to the light.
25. one really shocked me the other day. walked into the kitchen where my mum was playing Tapestry by Carol King, and the bass playing on that album is superb! quite a strong jamerson influence i think. when i googled the bassist it turns out it was her husband.
