1.
Hiya Don, thanks for the info. Yes, would be great to meet up and say Hi. My wife is about to give birth anyday now so might not be until the new year but I will check out My Space. How you getting on wih the Stagg?
Getting on fine mate. I would love to increase my repertoire but need to find time to do it. Playing some modern rockabilly (trying to any way) like Imelda May. Just dont seem to be handling the slap very well. Ah well practice practice practice. Congrats on the impending Linusette. See you in the New Year Don
 2.
Careful with the case! Coming back from a rehearsal on Sunday evening, the shoulder strap broke. I thought I had caught the bass in time but obviously not as, when I opened it up on Monday, I discovered I had split the headstock! Glued, set, clamped and reinforced with a couple of wooden dowels, it seems to be holding up and I will be using it at a gig tonight. However, I would rather not have had the opportunity to practise my luthiery skills! Wulf
OOOPS. Was it the hardware that broke or the strap itself. Ive got to be honest, i carry it like a fishing rod using the two carry handles, but I have been tempted to sling it over my back. Not any more mind you
 3.
Maxcat, Where are you playing? I would love to come and here the Stagg in a live environment.
Hi Linus . Long time no speak. I should get the band up on the gig thread if I ever get round to it. Next gig is the Prince of Wales Hammer Vale, Haslemere on the 29th Nov then Crown Inn Knaphill 19 Dec. You can My space "Six Miles Away" to see if our other bookings suit better. Would be great to meet up at one of them. Cheers Don
 4. So go on tease me. Whats the damage?
 5.
I just played my first gig with my stagg EUB. I'll have to say that I'm very impressed. There are still some nut slot issues to be taken care of once I get the correct files but all in all I'm very happy with my purchase. The recordings from the concert proved to me that it really does emulate a the sound real upright fairly well. Once again, I'd suggest anyone that is looking into one to take the plunge. You won't be disappointed.
Congrats mate. I gig the Stagg a lot now and apart from the standard "Whats that big red thing" comments, the main conversations always centre on how it really does do a great approximation of an acoustic DB. Second your recommendation. As Ive said before probably the best bang for your buck that Ive purchased. Stagg On
 6. Thanks mate. Think Ill stick with the Hercules stand. Seems to do the biz for me. Cheers
 7.
I also noticed them at Music Live and also a new stand! The Stagg guy told me that they have them in stock for £35.00 which seems a decent price for a fairly substantial stand. I played around with it as well and personally, after a little work, I reckon I could play it in the stand, which beats using the extensions!
Is that apurpose built stand for the Stagg?
 8. do it double. You like the material so you're not selling your soul and you are getting out there.got to do it
 9. pitch black every time. Accurate great display and a great choice of visuals .can't go wrong
 10.
Well just in case anyone is in two minds about buying/trying a Stagg EUB, I would class myself as an 'intermediate' player who picked up the bass at a late stage. I then couldn't resist getting a Stagg EUB and love every minute of it so far. It's opened my ears to a whole new world. Do it, you won't regret it! FP
+1 on that. For the price I dont think you can do better. Its added a whole new dimension to my playing and enjoyment. And it does look cool
 11. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. My head hurts
 12.
Now don't let your head explode http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=434739
You my dear chap are un bon oef tout le circulair. 14. Saw them in Reading last night. Top gig. JJ has still got it. I must admit the crowd felt like it was from the cast of Cocoon but still managed to Mosh
 15. Brand new Memory Man with Hazerai installed on the board. It is by far the trippiest box out there. Im just starting to get to know it and I was wondering if any mm users could share their favourite settings for me to try out/plagiarise. Cheers Me Dears
 16.
Ha ha Bertie was a limited edition. We have two, in case one gets injured ... He is frequently kidnapped at gigs by kids and young women ... The screwdriver set is available from Muji for about £6 .. http://www.muji.eu/pages/online.asp?V=1&am...D=701&CHK=Y I bought about 10 sets one Christmas and gave them to everyone They are magnetic, precision engineered and tough as old boots. The handle goes on straight or as an L handle for more power. Sheer Japanese brilliance and a essential bit of kit for onstage when you need to screw your strap pegs back in mid tune or change a battery or tighten a mic lead plug end screw, stab your guitarist etc ... Comprehensive, well yeah .. I forgot the kazoos (if it's good enough for Jimi Hendrix it's good enough for me, of course I play a right handed one) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=U0aMB_hnoIc I play quite a lot of stuff in our band, various pipes, (sax too sometimes), percussion, sonic jokes, mucking about etc, and over the 40 or so years I've been gigging I've met all sorts of challenges to keep the show on the road. When you are playing someone's wedding 100 miles from home a blown fuse (oh, forgot to mention those) or broken lead lead or a dry solder joint should not be enough to stop you playing... Of course then there's the mic and radio mics box and stands, the rack with head, wireless, foot pedals and all its cables and stuff, the double gig bag with all the bass (guitar) maintenance stuff, the upright stick bass and its bits an pieces, the foot pedals case with loads more batteries, the stage lights box, the sax mic, stand and reflector, the powered monitor and all its cables, the stage clothes, guitar stands ... hummmmmmm Next time it will be a chromatic harmonica and bullet mic ....
What do you drive OG? A four tonne truck?
 17.
Well yes, the Headrush is primarily a looper with delays tacked on, and the MM is a delay with a looper tacked on. But the looper has had a fair bit of thought put into it in the MM anyway The undo function on the Headrush can be excellent though. If you're doing live looping and you've mucked it up enough to need to undo it, chances are everyone has noticed already anyway though
Yeah just say f*@@ it and drive on
 18.
yeah I've got one of those too. Spilled drinks in your foot pedals and leads is horrible .. Wayne, that's a bargain mate! Mine live in a huge rolling plastic trunk thing and in an Action man ammo case liberated from my son. That arrives in teh big plastic rolling trunk thing but then goes on top of my rack for fast access at gigs I do loads in my band so mine has all of the above, Plus In the Ammo box: Batteries of several sizes, Muji screwdriver set (I can't recommend this highly enough. It's brilliant) shakers claves recorder, penny whistle duck call Lonesome US train whistle thing samba whistle Swanee whistle (for clangers conversations) callers notes band publicity handouts clip to hold notes and word notes to mic stand sax reed In the big crate: Batteries Soldering iron set Spare cables, mic/di (x6), speaker, guitar (x2), power 9x3 different lengths) PCB Mains 3 and 4 gangs Guitar strap More batteries clip on guitar holder x 2 (clips to table or cab handle) about 1 kilo of Jelly Babies in bertie the big Jelly baby dispenser Words, set lists, chord charts, Patch leads Pliers set Yet more batteries (radio mics eat 'em) Luggage straps: to strap my rack to the speaker cabs, lights to things, speakers to things, whatever ... etc ...
I think I need a bertie and a set of those screwies
 19. Cool guys. thats what I was hoping youd say. MM it is. Ill do the pedal board thingy when I get it. Thanx for the advice
 20.
I keep the towel, kettle lead and extension in the back of my rack. I like the sound of the drink holder.
Thomann Best £8 youll ever spend. Get the more expensive one cos the its built like a tank and fully enclosed so the glaas/bottle cant slip out. It is genius
 21. All of the above plus Extension Lead RCD Breaker Mic Spare Kettle Lead for Amp Towel Pledge and most importantly my awsome Mic Stand screw on Pint Glass Holder (Never leave home without one
 22.
Are you not worried about the rip in the 15"? Made you look
Now that almost had me calling the ambulance
 23. Yes I have. Im looking for an addition to my existing setup which is Bassbone, DHA VT2 overdrive , Optostomp compressor,Boss OC 2, Exar Pignose envelope Boss PH 3 Phaser and Korg Pitchblack tuner, all mounted on a Pedal train junior. I have a single pedal space that with a bit of crowbar action could be turned into a double space. I fancy an EHX Memory Man with H for the delay/echo but Im getting more and more interested in the possibilities of the looper. Which brings in the Akai Headrush into the equation. First of all will they both fit into a double pedal space? and next from the reviews on here, the MM is seen to be a delay with a basic loop facility, and the Headrush is a fantastic looper with a basic delay. Could I use the MM on stage to layer 4 or 5 levels then solo over the top or is that the Akais domain. Thing is I think I want a variety of delay/echo. Is this the Akai or is that the MM. If the MM can satisfy my looping interest then thats the one Ill go for. Your thoughts are highly appreciated. Hope this makes sense
 24.
I know what you mean I have a spare unit in my rack and I just wanna complete it.
Maddening aint it. Cant think what I want/need though
