  1. A brilliant idea but what do we do about the poor unfortunates who are left handed? I guess you could stick them all into a group of their own..... This could work, y'know.....
  2. Surely your best approach was outrage that she should be going through your stuff. This shows a lack of trust and you thought she was better than that, etc..... That way you get to do the sad, disappointed look.
  3. PS is that a tiny Warwick on the wall at the top, or just a lot further away than the others?
  4. Nice...... I’ve used a VM4 as my main gigging bass for years and I love it. The neck is, as you say, fantastic and I love the sounds it makes. They’re great instruments - and that one of yours is a real looker; white on white with black hardware has an air of class to it. I’ve been playing the Rick today but I think I’ll give the VM4 a blast tomorrow. Enjoy the new bass, may it serve you well!
  5. Now sold. Starting listing at £375 which I think is fair but am open to reasonable offers so try me 😁. I'm selling the Genz Benz Shuttlemax which has been my back up amp since I bought it in from a fellow BCer back in 2014. In that time it's hardly been out of the gig bag and i don't actually remember ever gigging it... Why? Because my main gigging amp is a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 which has always been plenty loud enough for the gigs I've played and reliable enough that I've never needed to use its big brother. I've just fired it up to check it out and everything works. Genz have a reputation for quality and reliability and this is no exception. There was a little bit of crackling from one of the pots but that's disappeared as the pot has been turned through its travel. Now that's sorted it works perfectly and has an immense, clean sound through the FET channel and an equally big and very shapeable sound through the Tube channel. This is effectively two 600w amps with two preamp stages and one master volume. It goes from 300w into 8ohms to 1200w into two 4ohm (or 4 X 8 ohm cabs). At full chat, people in France start calling to complain! Overkill for me though so it should go. The amp comes with the power lead, footswitch and gig bag. The gig bag came to me with a bust zip and the faux leather on the handle has split and been bound with gaffer tape. The amp itself came with a couple of light scuffs on the top panel and a small mark on the front left corner - I've shown it in the pictures. I'm in Cleethorpes and you're welcome to come and try it out before going for a paddle and a donkey ride. Alternatively, I can package it securely and send by insured courier within the UK or I'm happy to meet somewhere mid-way. PM me to discuss options. As to trades - I’m not really looking for basses (well, maybe a nice light Precision) or cabs but there’s a world of other stuff that might just be of interest - pedals, preamps, recorders, etc - so let me know what you got. Thanks for looking. Any questions, please send me a PM.
  6. A post on Talkbass might get you some local knowledge as well?
  7. Yew ain't frem rahnd here, boy, are yew?
  8. Same bloke who did the memory upgrade in the ramallamadingdong
  9. You really wouldn't want to carry it very far but that really is lovely. I take it you were going for a bright, modern, scooped sound? 😀
  10. Thanks, Jack. I'll take a look
  11. Is it possible to use a generic latched footswitch with a GK MB amp or does it have to be the proprietary one supplied with the amp (but now vanished into thin air)? Alternatively, does anyone know where to get hold of one? Thanks 😁
  12. Thats awful, truly awful. I hope he manages to recover some of it. We're unlikely to see any of it on this side of the Pennines but I'll keep an eye out on my regular trawl of eBay.
  13. I know that Teebs can be annoyingly cheerful at times but that's a bit harsh, isn't it?
  14. Dedication? Unloading two and a half tons of PA gear and lights into my garage in the early hours after every bleedin' gig because - apparently - i was the only one who knew how to work it so I should keep hold of it..... In fairness, they did always buy me cake for my birthday and i did eventually manage to share the load around - but let's not spoil a good moan with too many facts, eh? Happy birthday Mr McC7, have a good 'un
  15. No, you tell him, Frank 😀 And i'm also interested to know that we're all set for the day....
  16. Hmmmm. A little judicious rewriting of history there, M. Teebs. Naughty Teebs.
  17. You make a good point - but it’s entirely possible that Cluedo is a recent hobby, taken up by Skank/Dr No when he retired to the South Coast. Let’s face it, he’d need something to fill the empty hours now that the whole super-villain thing has finished. So he retires to the bungalow, takes up the bass as a hobby and enjoys a nice game of Cluedo every Wednesday night with Mrs SD/No and the Pargeters, George, a retired Colonel of the Yeomanry and his wife, Dotty.
  18. Is it my fault that I’m such a generous soul? I think Teebs and I deserve a bigger allocation so that we can continue to spread the joy..... 😁
  19. Indeed. But then your cheque bounced, I didn't get any of the follow on work that you promised and my friend Donna reckons a 'proper' photographer would have kept his own clothes on. I don't know, I just felt so....so.... used
  20. I have no little reactions things available so... Hahahaha ROFLPML!
