1. Always been intrigued by these but can't help but think Sandberg missed a trick by not including a five string in the range
 2.
What if it doesn't sound good ?
Then your unlikely to play it again & have learnt something. I'm by no means knocking theoretical knowledge I was just trying to imply that ear training is equally important & often overlooked.
 3. If I were starting over again from scratch I'd concentrate mostly on ear training. Start simple with intervals & build on from there, music theory knowledge is necessary to some degree but not the be all and end all. If you have a good ear you can pretty much play whatever you hear in your mind with little theoretical knowledge & if it sounds good then who cares why it works.
 4. Looks ace, mine was done over a year ago & I still catch myself looking at it like a teenage boy checking out the French teachers arse :-p
 5.
You want to know what will make you a better musician. It's your ears, it's all your ears.
What Hector said. The way I see it is, there are two types of player, those that can learn from scores or tab & regurgitate other people's music albeit with there own style then there are those that have a good ear & understand musical language & freely play the music in their heads in real time. I believe talent is not inherent & can be developed & I also believe that most people neglect musicianship during the learning process. If you have a good ear & can keep good time then the world is your lobster. In short then, train your ears everyday, listen (properly) to music everyday, sing everything you play, tap out rhythms, go to gig's often etc etc. If your a reader I highly recommend reading "The Talent Code" & "The Musician's Way" in that order.
 6. & to add to what I mentioned above, if you use a metronome you can work on your sense of time also then to expand on that try playing different rhythms. That way you've given your technique, musicianship & creativity a workout all at once.
 7. Try practicing slapping something simple like a minor pentatonic etc focusing on getting a clean attack, also try muting with the fleshy parts of your fingers on the left hand. Practice slowly at first then gradually build speed once you have the accuracy down. Oh & don't over do it,ten minutes a day & you'll have it in no time.
 8. Paul has just bought my Genz cabs, he is a pleasure to do business with & spot on with communication. Trade with confidence.
 9.
Are these gone?
On hold until the weekend for another member, if it falls through do you want me to give you a nudge?
 10.
What's the problem selecting a courier? Just general confusion or is the cab in question particularly big and/or heavy. If you just want a general recommendation use UPS booked via Interparcel. I've used them for hundreds of parcels and the only once have a I had a damaged parcel and then the insurance paid out promptly and in full. I've never encountered a problem with parcel size and I've sent some fairly large things. However they do have a weight limit of 50kg. If you cab in the packaging is over the weight limit then the best price I found was by going direct to TNT, but don't expect it to be cheap.
Just confused generally, lots of different delivery/collection options. I'll go with UPS as suggested & strangely enough I've had a new bike delivered this morning so I'll get busy with the scissors. Cheers all.
 11. Thanks Gary/Phil I shall indeed avoid Yodel like the plague, in my own experience they are rubbish.
 12. I have a pair of cabs I need to courier to the other side of the country & looking online for quotes has just done my head in. So my question is aimed at members who ship gear regularly, how's best to go about it & who are the companies to avoid? Cheers
 13. £150 for the cab with badges & cover & £125 for the one without.
 14.
Hi there. I have one of these. Great cabs. Would you be willing to split and how much for postage?
I will split them, no idea how much postage would be I'd have to get quotes.
 15.
That's it, my black beauty is off to Jon Shuker on Saturday. I'll post the pics when it's done 😉
Awesome & you won't regret it.
 16. My GB cabs are now surplus to requirements so I'm moving them on to someone who will hopefully get some use from them. Both are 2/10's & 300w @ 8ohm & in good working & cosmetic condition. One comes with & Roqsolid cover & all badges, the second has been de-badged & has had the rubber feet moved to the side for vertical stacking. Collection from the West Midlands preferred or a meet up can be arranged. Feel free to fire any questions my way. Steve
 17.
That's me in the corner.
Cheers, I now have a wet crotch from coffee spillage after laughing uncontrollably. Still I'm sure none of the other parents at my sons will notice the wet patch.
 18.
I sometimes surprise myself. For years I was solidly onboard all the time, (and I mean ALL the time it was practically unhealthy) even before the famous FBI database incident of 2004 - BassWorld anyone? However, thanks to a huge amount of upheaval this year, I'd say I have been away for longer than I have been visiting. I don't think that I'll be on as much as when the forum (BW that is) had a mere 30 odd users, but I won't ever leave. It's a bit like the Hotel California.
My sentiments exactly. I'm not a prolific poster but I do enjoy reading a post or two & I trust the marketplace, not that I do much buying/selling these days. I can also remember Bass World & the old guard & it's been interesting to watch the community evolve into what it is now. Members come & members go, I'll be staying for a while.
 19. http://musiciansway.com/blog/ http://thepracticeofpractice.com/ http://www.jazzadvice.com/ Lots of good advice on how to practice to maximise growth. I bought The Musicians Way book & have been using their method for a while now, making better progress than I ever did practicing haphazardly.
 20.
Yeah, I had a white 2007 a couple of years back that went the same way. Yours now looks the same finish as the std Precision I recently had, black with a golden gloss neck. Gorgeous 😍. I may be dropping Mr Shucker a line.........
It suits the bass better I think, high gloss neck with the sparkle of the pearl blue. I have no idea why MM & so many other builders have stopped doing it as standard, cost cutting no doubt. Jon done an awesome job it is literally flawless & exactly how I asked for it to be. It's not cheap but if you plan on keeping the bass & like lacquered necks it's a worthy investment. I showed Jon a picture of a new classic ray & asked for the same finish/tint.
 21.
Hats off to you, that neck now looks gorgeous. I might have to look into this on my black beauty :-)
Cheers mate, it sure is. I didn't really get on with the oiled/waxed finish & it was starting to look like a weathered fence.
