If you think you are churning out the same old guff, you clearly are not!

All helpful stuff. I'm going to try a few heads in shops, but not many delaers seem to stock the bigger Ampeg heads. any tips on where to go? I prefer not to buy blind on something like this!

Been using a TC Polytune since they came out. Most excellent.

[/quote] According to the YouToob blurb, the right channel is an SM57 on one of the speakers, the left is DI'd. Definitely sounds better if you just listen to the right speaker.

I have a Class D all-solid-state head and really like it, but fancy the idea of something from the Ampeg stable with a valve front end and a Mosfet power stage. This of course leads me to consider the SVT 3 Pro, and indeed its predecessor the SVT III Pro. So, if you own or have owned one, tell your BC chums - what's hot, what's not, what does it excel at, what does it struggle with, can you proudly say 'this is the Ampeg sound', and finally - any epic fails?
