1. Oi! Mouth! I was watching that and hoping to get a deal, now everybody knows!
 2. There could also be the situation (although this is more prevalent in the skinny-string world) where people seek out the old-original-therefore-plainly-superior models. Especially before production was moved to the Far East e.g. Kent!
 3. Dan what is the depth of the casing front to rear (excluding knobs, handles etc). Cheers
 4.
I have modded two guitar tube amps to use with my bass. A 5w EVJ and a 15w Fender excelsior, both combos. The EVJ is ok for quiet practice with good tone when I am away in hotels (quiet often with my job) ... I have used Hammond OTs in both of mine... Warning Valve amps should only be worked on by people with the relevant experience and understanding of the dangers involved in working with high voltage electrical components
I have extensively modded a Harley Benton GA5, which is Thomann's much cheaper badge-engineered version of the Epi Valve Junior. Mods included:

Sorting out the DC voltage
Fitting a screen grid resistor
New Hammond OPT
Jensen speaker (I have the combo)
Tidying up the preamp circuit
Tone stack removed, replaced with tone circuit from Big Muff
Gain and master volume
I got my information from sewatt.com, an excellent valve amp modding forum. I am sure there is scope for optimising the preamp to suit a bass, but definitlely replace the under-specced OPT if you go down this route - it also give you all the output impedance options you are likely to need.
 5. Saturday night BUMP. All pedal trades considered (if only fleetingly)!
 6.
I'll have another poke at the weekend...
That's one of the things I'd do - poke components with a little wooden stick (save them when you get a takeaway coffee) to detect bad or broken solder joints.
 7.
The Streamliner I know less about but again is supposed to be valvey sounding.
That'll be the 3 actual valves in the preamp!
 8. There probably hasn't been a better time to buy a Streamliner 600, as I believe Fender has bought Genz Benz and they are being knocked out for £499 a pop so that Fender can [s]flog its own range of tat[/s] bring new product so the market place. Both GB and TC heads can be had for reasonable prices used (although I am not selling my Classic 450!) You won't be taking much of a risk if you buy wisely/used.
 9. Back up for sale, as the mate who was going to buy it is now faced with moving house, and every penny counts! I have also dropped the price a bit. This guitar was mainly put together by someone else - who, I do not know. I have referred to it as a 'Nocaster' because it does not say 'Telecaster' on the headstock. A Nocaster from Fender would cost you at least twice as much! It features the following:

Genuine Fender replacement neck. I guess this is what they call 'C profile' - sits beautifully in the left hand, neither a cricket bat nor a thin/flat speed neck, just a happy medium.
Distressed body. I am not sure of the proper name for the finish, nor am I an expert woodologist, but it's a bit like the old Gibson TV Yellow, and you can see the wood grain through it. There is a lot of lacquer cracking, and quite a few dings and scrapes, which I think were deliberate by the builder. The fitting of the string ferrules in the rear of the body is not the neatest job, but then you don't see that while you're playing!
Bare Knuckle Brown Sugar pickups. You can read the spec here. This is one of the older sets, with 'Bare Knuckle Pickups' engraved on the neck pickup cover. No prizes for guessing what they are supposed to sound like! (And they do.)
The tuners look like Kluson replicas. They are not branded but work absolutely fine.
When I got the guitar I replaced the bridge saddles with compensated brass saddles and added a 1nF treble bleed capacitor to retain highs when the volume is backed off. (Blimey I feel like MDP here!) I am looking for [s]£425[/s] £385 delivered within mainland Britain. You are welcome to come and try it through your own amp or one of mine. Price will be £25 less if picking up from me, and other delivery/meet-up options are subject to negotiation. Trades - Possibly interested in a 3-pickup SG or LP (Gibson or Epi), or a Jazzmaster, I will probably want to meet up and try out what you have. Could also interested in amp head trades. I'm less likely to be interested in other stuff, but by all means shout out your trade offers on this thread, and my response will help others to know what might be worth a punt. Okay, first of all a video from my days in the Rolling Zones tribute band. I am the guitarist on the centre/right as you look at the stage. This video is a montage (gotta have a montage, yeah!), during which I play the Nocaster up to 6:15 (and after that a Les Paul). To be honest, the opening riff of Start Me Up should tell you all you need to know! After that there are some pictures.
 10. I have the wide neck version of this in blue, and I can thoroughly recommend these guitars. GLWTS
 11.
When I got my Barefaced S12, my amp rack was heavier than the cab! but, the 3Pro didn't get on too well with the S12 so, I moved to an Orange TB500.
I can see the benefit of a heavy head on BF cabs - stops them blowing away on open air gigs! Also had an EVO But don't miss it now I have the TC. EDIT: Can you explain about the 3Pro and the S12 not hitting it off?
 12.
no to handle / feet query
Cheers.
 13. Another question - can you overdrive the valve front end, or is it all about cleans in a Hiwatt sort of way?
 14. Are you able to check external dimensions? Metric or imperial, either is fine by me!
 15. Price drop bump - was £85 delivered, now £70 (or £65 collected).
 16. Aargh! Just drooled all over my work keyboard - serves me right for logging into Basschat at lunctime.
 17. No way I would play unless I could be guaranteed a dry stage and safe mains supply. And always take mains supply tester and use an RCD.
 18. I had a Silver Series Jazz and it was very good indeed, gigged it loads, then sold it to vmaxblues. £150 is a good price I'd say.
 19. Saw one of these at SE Bass Bash (Noisyjon's) but only had the briefest of looks. Wish I'd had a play with it now! @sk8 - what made you keep the Aggy rather than this? I'm not trying to make you say this isn't as good, just - was it the basic sound, tone control options, fx loop (or lack of)...?
 20. I have a Godin electro-classical which is gorgeous. I shall be wearing a bib for when the pics go up.
 21. If you take the amp out of the 'head case', does it have a handle and feet for the metal chassis part?
 22. There are a few A-frame designs around. One problem is that if you leave a cable with a right-angle plug connected to your bass, cable through the strap, it can get messy and snag up. I always use Hercules stands with the neck-grabbing device, but I did manage to knock one over by getting caught on my own lead. Fortunately the bass was not damaged.
